Slow at work today so I'm scrolling through Cagematch and I find a card that left me befuddled.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=110587
An NWA show from January 2005 in South Korea. Main event is Sting Vs a post WWE but pre TNA Billy Gunn. Other highlights include a DDP-Raven TLC match (which could've been great in '98 but in 2005? Yikes!) and Dusty Rhodes teaming up with Buff Bagwell. Plus Double J defending the NWA World Title against AJ Styles.

Stunned I looked to see what else Sting was up to for shows between his first appearance for TNA and him signing full time with them in '06.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=101237
An indy show in Hawaii in 2004 where Sting teamed up with Great Muta against Diamond Dallas Page and SATOSHI KOJIMA!?

That's funny, I was looking up cards for that Italian promotion known for the Ultimate Warrior vs Orlando Jordan main event last night after it was discussed in chat. Some of these cards are hilarious

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=43637

Corey Graves vs Juvi and Mr. Anderson vs Chuck Palumbo headline a big 5 match card. Anderson/Palumbo was the main event of almost all 6 shows of that tour.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=23550
Featuring a six man tag combo that might even baffle Tenryu of Chris Masters, Heidenreich, and Orlando Jordan up against a pretty weird team of Rikishi, One of his cousins, and Rob Van Dam. Gangrel vs Corey Graves on the undercard

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=20588
Rikishi vs Booker T headlines with some of the matches on the undercard including Orlando Jordan vs Romeo from The Heart Throbs, Vito vs Heidenreich, and a triple threat between Gangrel, Savio Vega, and Trent Acid.

I'm pretty sure there was a year in the mid-late '00s where that Italian promotion was the 2nd best drawing promotion in the West behind WWE. They routinely drew a couple thousand people to their shows to see the WWE midcarders of a few years before.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=39438
I think I posted this one a while back but it's insane. An NWA show from Malaysia from '96. Dan Severn defends the NWA World Title against Jim Neidhart, a surely classic Repo Man-Koko B.Ware time limit draw, Gangrel battles the phony Von Erich, AND RICK MARTEL AS EVIL DOINK!

Also I came across these shows doing some research to see if guys were eligible in the draft

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=51185
This is a fairly bland indie show mostly with guys I've never heard of. But that main event makes it weird. The main event is BUTTERBEAN VS COREY GRAVES

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=130524
Show with some decent sounding stuff like Sabin vs Kazarian, but a Gangrel vs Monty Brown match goes to a no contest and turns into Gangrel and Sabu vs Monty Brown and AHMED JOHNSON in one of his last matches.

Speaking of Warrior. Promotion that he did a one shot for in '95, NWC, based out of Las Vegas had some really really trippy cards. Foley talks in Have A Nice Day about doing a match with Sabu that spilled into the floor of casino where they ran shows.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=21029
Aformentioned card

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=21039
Here's one from June '95 main evented by a four way steel cage stretcher match between Cactus Jack, Sabu, Mr. Hughes (ok...), and VIRGIL  Plus Honky Tonk Man Vs a way washed Junkyard Dog, and Battlebowl-esque tag team match of Rob Van Dam and his then tag team partner Bobby Bradley against one of the Power Twins and NAILZ.

Edit- I guess The Thug was a masked Jim Neidhart not Nailz. Jim Neidhart teaming up with one of the Power Twins and facing RVD is still weird but not as weird. Damn. I wanted to imagine what Nailz bumping for RVD looked like.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=21040
Here's the show with the Warrior. Pleased that the show with that weirdass stretcher match outdraw the scintillating SummerSlam '88 IC Title Match Rematch by 200 people!

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=21053
I guess this promotion lasted until 1998, although it looks they moved to Sacramento for the last year or two. Here's a show headlined by Honky Tonk Man facing off against his WrestleMania III opponent Jake "The Snake" Roberts with special guest referee STEVE SAX. I wonder if Steve Sax's run in with the law translated into him being to corral off prime professional wrestlers.

This is from that ill fated fan festival where a bunch of people got stiffed on payment and a lot of wrestlers no showed. Plus Lex Luger had his stroke, which Idk if it's related to that fan festival being poorly run.

It must've been electric to see The Great Muta (with Bobcat accompanying him for some reason) against Steve Corino and The Sandman (with Baby Doll accompanying him for some reason) in a hardcore triple threat match in a mostly empty Cow Palace in 2007.

Plus random ass matches like The Dream Team Vs Koko B. Ware and Dr. Death. It's just like whoever produced the show was like. "Uh...shit. We need opponents for The Dream Team. Who is around?" and just grabbed the first two wrestlers they could find. I just hope Dr. Death did the Bird Dance with Koko.

I fuckin' love this card. A geriatric Bill Eadie wrestling The Barbarian as The Masked Superstar (instead of Demolition Ax, which seems like it'd have made more sense). A clash of the undercard greats between Brad Armstrong and George South. Lex Luger Vs Tracy Smothers. A Ricky Morton Vs Terry Taylor main event. And it all drew over a 1,000 people in the year 2005. Incredible.

I don't know where else to post this, but I ended up going down the wormhole for Sgt. Slaughter results on cagematch after looking at who he worked in 85/86 to see if that contributed to his immediate decline as a wrestler. And, I saw he worked a couple WWE Smackdown house shows in 2003.

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=23942

Brock vs Cena is the main event as this was during their program where Brock was sort of feuding with Cena and Angle at the same time. The undercard seems pretty standard for the time with Los Guerreros vs Team Angle and Rey Mysterio vs Matt Hardy, Rikishi in a kiss my ass match against a random heel, Torrie vs Nidia in a bra and panties match, and "shudder" Taker and Nathan Jones vs Big Show and A-Train. But then I come across this match

Six Man Tag Team Match
Brian Kendrick, Sean O'Haire & Sgt. Slaughter defeat The FBI (Chuck Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli & Nunzio)

The babyface team might be the most random six man tag pairing I've ever seen and I wish there was footage of this to post in the matches you never knew existed. That six man team even outdoes some of Tenryu's random teams he came up with in WAR.

Here's a random show in Guam he worked right before he rejoined WWF in 1990

https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=216496

Main event has Battle Bowl esque teams of Slaughter and Don Muraco vs Kamala and Iron Sheik. Also has a unification match between USWA champ Kerry Von Erich vs AWA champ Larry Zbyszko, a match between The Fantastics and my new favorite tag team ever THE SATANIC WARRIORS and Cowboy Bob Orton vs BATMAN!!!!

Looks like it was a weekend in Florida. I'm guessing there was a last minute injury or no show and Sarge was nearby enough to fill in.

'03 house shows are filled with weird stuff like that. When Roddy Piper got fired, he was supposed to do some Piper Pit's at house shows as a draw during the summer. Well, it got replaced by The Brother Love Show and at a house show in Augusta, Maine, the guest was Vince McMahon. Who started by cutting what seemed like a sincere thank you speech about how Vince Sr gave him his start promoting Central and Northern Maine before it turned into a stereotypical evil Mr. McMahon promo.

Unfortunately, that was right after I fell out of watching wrestling so I only heard about it second hand. Would've loved to see Vince tearing into rural Maine.

Dan Severn defending the NWA World Title against Tajiri at an NWA New Jersey show in 1995. Plus one of most random six man tags I've seen; David Sammartino, Tom Brandi, and NJ indy lifer Gino Caruso Vs our man Typhoon, early Eastern era ECW guy Kodiak Bear, and some guy that doesn't even have a Cagematch profile.

Taking a stroll down semi-recent memory lane. Remember my NWA On Fire Live Blog? GTs. Anyway, this show happened at a little community center about 30 minutes away. It's funny to see current WWE guys Ciampa and Oney Lorcan in undercard and/or jobbing roles for this bad indy. Antoine Roy is former New Generation era jobber Tony Roy. Also Bob Backlund inexplicably wrestling in 2009 and a scintillating main event of Puerto Rican superstar Apolo, who was in the USA avoiding a domestic violence charge back home wrestling against late '90s WCW great Rick Fuller.

How do you have Sid and Giant Silva at the same time and not book that match?

It's on the WWE Network. According to Wrestling Classics, he also worked a squash match at a TV taping but he and his manager (Bert Prentice/Christopher Love) both quit and were thus edited off TV. Love had also taped a match with a roid monkey Lord Humongous gimmick guy that never made air. NOW I WANT TO SEE IT.

AWA @ St. Paul
1990/05/05 @ St. Paul Civic Center in St. Paul, Minnesota (United States of America)
Bob Lurtsema, The Trooper and Brad Rheingans defeated Mike Enos, Wayne Bloom and Tully Blanchard

While looking at Demolition's Cagematch I found this gem. Seems like main events were picked out of a hat.

An Al Snow Vs Abyss Joseph A Parks Monster's Ball match...with Armando Alejandro Estrada as guest referee. Mr. Anderson Vs Matt Hardy (during his career lowpoint) Vs The Hurricane triple threat. Demolition Vs Mustapha Saeed and some other guy in 2013.

@BruiserBrody ifyou weren't there then you SHOULD have been.

They run a show every year....I don't think we even knew this one happened. I would have pushed to go see Demolition.

This is the local show I found about well after the fact that I wish I had gone to see:

Hardcore Match
Tatanka
defeated Brian Knobbs
3
3-Wa Match
Typhoon
defeated One Man Gang and Ron Harris
4
Paul Orndorff defeated Honky Tonk Man
5
Dan Severn defeated Greg Valentine
6
Tables Match
Jim Duggan and Road Warrior Animal
defeated Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge)

I respect that Demolition still did the S&M gear in their '00s-'10s comeback even though everybody would've been perfectly fine if they just wore sleeveless t-shirts and leather pants or something. FROM LEATHER DADDIES TO LEATHER GRAMPIES!

It can always get worse for early '00s WWF/E

For some reason, despite having one of the strongest rosters of all time in '01, WWF really front loaded the A house shows and left the B shows scraps. I saw a show week before Survivor Series '01 with RVD Vs Raven for the Hardcore Title and The Dudley Boyz Vs APA top matches. Normally, I would say that isn't a great (or even good) B show but not the worst but not when you consider the A show in Hartford had The Rock, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Booker T, DDP, The Undertaker, Chris Jericho. It was ridiculous. I understand maybe you don't want The Rock or Austin have to drive up to Maine in November but you couldn't give us Undertaker or Jericho!?
