Idk, Heel Luger was a highlight of WCW in the first six months of 1996. He's always showed so much more personality and charisma as a heel and I think he probably would've ended up doing okay in WWF 1996 if he stayed. Heel Luger with the more risque WWF angles of late 1995 into 1996 would've been entertaining at least.

Not turning Lex Luger heel in the Summer of '94 was not only the biggest downfall of Luger's WWF career but maybe of the New Generation as a whole. He would have been so good and helped carry company in last half of '94/first half of '95.

And they did piddly dink with him as a face during that time period! He feuded with Tatanka for GD forever and formed that lame Allied Powers team with Davey Boy!

Heel Tatanka is one aspect of New Generation I can't even defend in most detached ironic sense. That shit sucked. It was killed by mere fact he didn't change his ring gear. Maybe it would have worked if he had changed his look (or his moveset) at all. But he did piddly dink to change anything except he sneered more.

Luger would've bailed regardless in 1995. When your best friend talks you into getting guaranteed money and a consistent push for the rest of your career, you jump on it. As entertaining as anything he did in the WWF could've been, WCW was the right move. But man, SO close to Luger vs Ahmed.

Luger turning in 1994 and getting the million dollar belt is one of my shitty fantasy bookings. Tatanka, however, should have become a thinly-veiled rich casino owner. All he'd need was a suit and a dollar sign on his loincloth and everybody has a price.

That was during the super brief Bill Watts era in WWF and it is really a textbook version of his style of angle.

And you're right, @Alfdogg , Luger was right to leave when he did because I don't see any scenario where him staying in WWE doesn't involve him putting a number of people over and getting gradually pushed down the card. For someone who is known as kind of a doof (except to @The Art of Postin' ), he read the room perfectly.

Luger was going to work with HHH at the September IYH and I assume he would have lost. They weren't even going to have him put Davey over because they didn't think it would give the Bulldog enough of a main event rub. Lex was absolutely right to leave.

In Mr McMahon's defense, why use guys like Luger and Savage well when you've got Mabel

Yeah since that's the case I can't blame him. But, in hindsight if he worked a program with HHH and gave him some advice, worked well with him and got along with him, then Flexy Lexy could've had a job with the WWE to this day post retirement. Look at guys like Regal and Terry Taylor and Road Dogg who worked with HHH early on in his career and got to reap the benefits once he gained power. I'm looking at a world where we get a Lex Luger HOF induction and statue and I want to be there.

HHH's Flair obsession would've made matches with Luger at least okay, too, if Luger was still motivated. I can see him shifting into basically Jake's role, though.

It would've been kinda cool to transfer Fink into the Mean Gene role, just as his dorky Fink self.

They had people in-house who would've been better than half the people they used. Imagine a hip, proactive, in your face Shane McMahon (with a fake name) instead of Todd.

I guess I missed the part that she didn't do as well as anybody else.

It was a wise career move to make the jump over to co-hosting Bingo Break with Gorilla Monsoon Bob Marella for Sean though undoubtedly.

Sean in pastels, trying to be hip, going full Poochie would've been awesome. Dressed like a Sunny D commercial in what New Generation Vince's idea of what was cool. Banter with Wiand. Cool dad.

I was actually was going to post this the other day but Jenny McCarthy auditioned for the event center gig in late 94/early 95 that eventually went to Tammy.

We know Tammy loved wrestling but interesting they passed on Jenny when they made a big deal about her escorting HBK to the ring at Wrestlemania XI in early 95.

It is weird because those events are so close together. But Tbf if Tammy didn’t have addiction issues she probably could have had mainstream success. She had charisma and was a better promo than almost anyone on the roster at the time.

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of the mocking/attacking of Sytch (or others in these circumstances). I'm sure I found that kind of stuff funny when I was an idiot teenager but I also thought using the r-word for people with intellectual disabilities was totally cool then too. People don't choose addiction. I'm probably in the minority but I know I'm not the only one: these things, every single time, are tragedies, not 'joke' fodder. And without that tragedy, I have no doubt at all that Sunny would've become a mainstream star.
