Quick thoughts on the Patriots...
#1: Cam was spotty in his accuracy but more willing to take the check down and live for the next down, which was progress.
#2: The running game is gonna be beastly again this year. Harris runs with such hard-nosed purpose, Michel is running like he's in competition for the #1 role, and White is White. Rhamondre Stevenson had a lot more wiggle and speed than I thought. He did look slimmer than he was at Oklahoma so I wonder if they asked him to lose some weight for speed purposes.
#3: Mac definitely had a factor about him. He needs to work on his arm strength in the gym (was short throwing some guys) but clearly has touch & accuracy when going deep. Not having DeVonta Smith/Jaylen Waddle type speedsters will take him getting used to though.
#4: Jakobi Meyers is gonna be our Troy Brown. Will never be an "elite" #1 WR talent-wise but he is just so consistent and such a good fit for the scheme.
#5: There were 4 false starts on the punt team. Not good. Also several big punt returns due to Bailey outkicking his coverage.
#6: Quinn Nordgrin looked legit and like he'll make it a battle for Folk's kicking job. Very impressed although he missed a PAT.
#7: WFT were making plays behind the LBs & in front of the Safeties passing-wise all game. Phillips/Dugger are very good talents but it'll be hard to replace Chung's presence on that backend.
#8: DL was inconsistent. They made some great plays to stuff the run and get off the field on 3rd Downs but generally seemed to be getting pushed around by Washington's OL more often than not. Not big plays given up but a lot of 3-5 yard runs play after play given up that would add up & extend drives in a real game.
