Snagged the Harley & Ivy Deluxe Edition for just $17.49. The 3 issue mini-series was worth it alone but then it also came with: Batman Adventures Annual #1, Batman Adventures Holiday Special #1, Batman and Robin Adventures #8, Batgirl Adventures #1, Batman: Gotham Knights #14, and Batman: Black and White #3)!

Several of those are on my best Harley Quinn Comics article and makes the purchase an absolute steal. Bonus: The Black and White #3 "The Bet" is colored in this issue.

Ordered the following books off Amazon

A Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Film Noir: The Essential Reference Guide by John Grant for $35.14 and Behind the Screen: How Gays and Lesbians Shaped Hollywood, 1910-1969 by William J. Mann for $25.49 Used.

Also snagged Vampires and Violets: Lesbians in Film by Andrea Weiss from 1993, Used and Girls Will Be Boys: Cross-Dressed Women, Lesbians, and American Cinema, 1908-1934 by Laura Horak for $25.48.

I've read the Behind the Screen book and it's a fascinating read for anybody looking for LGBT History (especially in the media) beyond the Stonewall Riots and 1960s movements.

"Everybody's Fool" by Richard Russo. It's a sequel of sorts, to "Nobody's Fool," which you may remember as it was turned into an excellent movie starring Paul Newman and Bruce Willis.

This book is so good, so multi layered, and the characters so rich and with such depth, that I'm Embarrassed by everything I've ever written, just due to reading this. It's totally fantastic.

Picked up the first book in the Kate Daniels series, Magic Bites, by Ilona Andrews for $5.94 in search of another series to start/try. Loved Kim Harrison's series so I went towards another urban fantasy title and the lead character sounds great.

I got Frank Conniff's new book Twenty Five Mystery Science Theater 3000 Films That Changed My Life In No Way Whatsoever. It's only about 100 pages but I liked the sample I read. While I was at it I got Kevin Murphy's A Year at the Movies: One Man's Filmgoing Odyssey he wrote years ago since it was $2.

Picked up the following Bargain Books...

Charles Dickens: Five Novels for $17.50 ($3.50 per Novel) and A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Classics by Dickens for $5.59. Had never read Dickens and felt I should probably rectify that and the prices were stupid cheap.

For my mother, I picked up Gothic Chilling Ghost Stories for $6.99 and 101 Great Ghost Stories for $5.59 (55 cents per Story). The former has some classic stuff from Poe, etc. mixed with some more modern fare whereas the latter looked neat and featured a lot of modern writers I had not heard of.

Bruce Springsteen autobio is pretty awesome so far. Were it written by anybody else the language might seem kinda hokey but I'm loving it.

So I figured I'll contribute to this thread.

I have a TON of hardcover books in my backlog. Just finished Black Science Volume 1 (issues 1-16), reading Daredevil by Bendis Omnibus 2 and the Planetary Omnibus, which I'm actually not enjoying despite hearing so much about it. I'm about 17 issues in. I'm going to start The Massive Library Edition 1 tonight too.

Gonna place another order tomorrow for the Deadpool Beginnings Omnibus and Sweet Tooth Deluxe Edition 3, which is the last in the series. Read the first two volumes in the same day they arrived, just a great page turner on the level of Y The Last Man.
