Some more fun notes and tidbits from Pro Football Weekly...

- “He (Josh Freeman) had nothing around him — no line, no receivers, no tight ends, no running backs — and he still beat Texas,” a general manager said. “To us, he has the best arm strength in this class, better than Stafford’s.”

- “(South Carolina TE) Jared Cook is too athletic not to get early looks. For me, he’s the best tight end in the draft. He can bring the most to the passing game. He’s not the most complete, but I like him the most as a receiver.

- “I love (Georgia WR) Mohamed Massaquoi. Anyone that interviews him will love him, but he was not even the best receiver on his own team. He does not have top-end speed and he has some stiffness to him. He’ll always lack top-end speed, but he will be a very good No. 2.”

- “I’m not sure there is a great guard in this draft class. To be honest, if we had to have one early, I would take one of the centers and make him a guard. I’d take Max Unger or Eric Wood early before I drafted a guard highly. Unger is so smart.”

- “(LSU DE-DT) Tyson Jackson would have a difficult time playing for us. I don’t know if he is man enough to play defensive tackle and he is not the bend-off-the-edge pass rusher we want. He’ll make the 10 or 12 teams running the 3-4 very happy — he’s a naturally big guy with long arms and plays on his feet — but he is not a great pass rusher. I think he’s a five-technique only.”

That's interesting about Freeman because I heard McShay say this morning that he thought Freeman was too big of a reach in the top 25.

I've heard rumors that some are comparing him to Ben Roethlisberger but he does seem like he'll be a project and could sit a year (ala Jason Campbell when he came out).

So now we have a retraction by CNNSI about BJ Raji failing the drug test and "confirmation" about Percy Harvin and Brandon Tate failing.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft09/news/story?id=4087941

Given what has been going on the last month, I think'll I'll wait and see another confirmation or wait until the draft to see if they free fall before buying it. But if it really does tank Harvin's stock, I think someone is going to end up with a bargain.

It's only a bargain if he keeps his nose clean.

St. Louis appeared to get a bargain in DT Claude Wroten of LSU a few years back, as Wroten had been a projected 1st rounder before a drug-possession bust (marijuana) by Louisiana cops and rumors of flunked drug tests caused him to drop to the 3rd round.

Where's Wroten now? Currently under suspension by the NFL for flunking multiple drug tests for marijuana. I don't think the light's coming on in his head, either, so I'm guessing that the Rams will probably cut him near the end of 2009.
