You know what's really messed up? The Bulls are a game and a half out of fifth place in the East!

I'm going to really get behind the Bulls now. It'll be fun to see Czech get pissed off about his favorite team succeeding.

the Blazers are a dope team.
I thought they cleaned up their act!

Apologies in advance to America for having to watch the Chicago Bulls in the playoffs. It didn't have to be this way, but here we are. May our pain be brief. If we're super-lucky, and by "we're" I mean "I'm," Vinny Del Negro will make a number of moves that expose him as a bumbling fool and accelerate his demise so that we can never speak of him again.

What the hell? They are winners of 11 out of the last 14. Certainly they are better than you make them out to be. I think the Salmons trade did it for them, because now they don't have to depend on Deng as much, and we all know Deng is an underachieving overpaid piece of shit. Shit even the dummy Tyrus Thomas is outperforming Deng.

The problem is at this point I think you aren't even following the team anymore. You're probably set in the opinion that you formed when the Bulls were 9 games under .500 and you never really rebounded from it. The Bulls got better, and if you really watch them, you'd know that. Although yes, Del Negro is still a crummy coach.

I just don't wanna see the Lakers/Spurs vs. Cavs/Celtics. I'd throw the Pistons in there, but lol lol you know lol lol.

No they're not. They're still bad. I have been watching them, and they've been beating some baaaaad teams. The Bulls aren't better. They still don't play defense. Until they fire their coach, they're incapable of winning anything, because he's not a real coach. Keeping this illusion going only means we have to wait even longer till they're an actual NBA team again. There's no point in rooting for the Bulls to do anything this year; it would only reward bad behavior. Think big picture.

I wouldn't worry about the Spurs, but I'd be shocked if the other teams didn't make the Conf. Finals.

Yeah, the Spurs did have a shot but that flew out the window when Ginobli was done.

Watching this Hornets/Mavs game makes me wonder:

Who will go down, historically, as the better player, Nash or Dirk?

Historically Nash will because of his 2 consecutive MVP awards. But, the fact remains that he's the only MVP in the history of the league never to make it to the NBA Finals and the Mavs made it there without him. If the refs hadn't given almost every call to the Heat in that series Dirk would have a title in addition to an MVP award. Basically, I'd rather have Dirk but he'll be viewed as a choker while Nash receives a pass for reason I can't understand.

I don't even think Del Negro is sticking around for long, win or not. I'd hope to make a run at Avery Johnson in the offseason, he'll probably chew out people for not playing defense.

I just need to know that somebody is going to be there to develop Derrick Rose into the best player he can be as soon as possible. That's what's really important to the Bulls, not possibly stealing a win from the Magic or Celtics en route to an ass-waxing.

I'd probably work on developing Rose into a great point guard and Gordon into a sharpshooting guard that he's shown the ability to be. The front court still needs a lot of work, and someone like Blake Griffin would probably do wonders for that, but too bad we aren't gonna get in the lottery.

I second that. These Mavs have really come around with Terry and Barea off the bench.

Agreed, they are going to give hell to whoever they face in the playoffs.

The other thing they gotta do is strike while the iron is hot on this Tyrus Thomas thing. People have been duped into thinking he's going to be a star. No he won't. Unload him while you still can.

Ben Gordon is my favorite player on the team, but I'm pessimistic about his long-term future with the Bulls. They already stupidly broke the bank on Luol Deng, who does nothing better than what John Salmons does for a sliver of the price. How are they going to afford Gordon and stay in the running for the game-changing pieces of the puzzle like Chris Bosh? I wonder if two birds can be killed with one stone here wherein the Raptors are duped into taking Thomas while we get Bosh long-term. I'm not allowing myself to care about the insulting farce that is Bulls Playoff Fever '09, but I'm finding myself strangely optimistic about where the team will be in a few years.

Bosh has a big salary, but if you throw in Deng, that's a win-win for Chicago, and you could even try to pull that off this offseason.

That'd be terrible on so many levels. Then again, I'm looking from a Raptors standpoint. To get an overpaid headcase like Deng and someone who'll never reach his potential like Thomas for Bosh would be a colossal mistake.

I don't know the best we'd get for Bosh at this point (and given our history with star players - I don't have my hopes up), but that can't be it. Someone on the Raptors board suggested a package from Portland featuring Aldridge. That would be worth looking into (although I doubt Portland would offer him up now).

Yeah mid-season, I would've definitely taken Bosh for Aldridge. Definitely not anymore. They almost traded Aldridge for fuckin' Amare Stoudamire. Good thing that didn't happen.

If the Celtics get destroyed by the Cavs in the playoffs while Lebron James dances around like he's god's gift to life, then I may just finally have that nervous breakdown you've all thought I was going to have for the last 5 years. Today sucked.

But, maybe Lebron's dance will actually fire the Celtics up. It seemed to fire Ray Allen up who took it as disrespect. Then again Lebron has always come across as cocky to me with the way he dances during games and those goofy grins and laughs he does when his team is way ahead. So I'm sure he's done stuff to fire teams up before and it doesn't seem to help. But, who knows? Maybe Allen was serious.

I guess it doesn't really matter until the Eastern Conference Finals at this point anyway.

Wade dropped 55 on the Knicks today. I wish this season would just END ALREADY. Being a fan of the Knicks is a special brand of torture.

But hey, I hear that LeBron James guy is pretty good, maybe we'll get him in 2010!

Well, whatever ferocity Allen will bring will probably be matched by Andy who can't be pleased by taking Allen's elbow in his nuts of steel.

About time an international player stood up to the Celtics. That ballshot should cost Ray some games, but tis' life.

So the Pistons blew a double-digit lead to the Bulls at home to clinch a losing record and the number 8 seed. Great, just fucking great. Now I get to watch them swept by the LeBrons and subsequently get blown up in the offseason.

The Bulls are now a half game up on Philadelphia for the 6 seed. Of course, Cleveland's going to fuck it all up by resting Lebron and others against the Sixers, giving Philly an easy win.
