Ricky Steamboat's original entrance theme in the WWF never fails to give me goosebumps. I'll never forget "Sirius" hitting the speakers at WrestleMania III; it was perfect for the atmosphere. Totally epic. You knew that it was time for the Dragon to breathe wrestling fire and gain his revenge by wresting the Intercontinental title from Savage's grasp.

This one always makes me smile because it means that Stan Hansen is about to charge down the aisle, whack a few people with his bullrope on the way, and destroy some poor sap with a Lariat. Stan Hansen is pro wrestling, you motherfuckers.

I had this as my ring tone for months after Piper died because it was always my favorite of his entrance themes.

Jushin Liger's theme always comes to mind when I think about NJPW and the song itself evokes visions of Liger striding down an impossibly long rampway in a giant arena.

Suzuki
Tanahashi (both versions)
Okada
Kushida
Naito
Cody

Are all themes that get me pumped up.

As a matter of fact Naito's theme is my ringtone and Okada's is on my work cell.

Undertaker's faux-black metal theme was awesome and perfect for the time.

There are a bunch that I love, but right now I'm obsessed with this one. It's my Facebook notification on my phone. I also love 3K, but this one is just great.

I'd also like to give a special shout out to ECW and their knack for taking songs that I hate and making me appreciate how much they fit individual wrestlers. See: "Enter Sandman," "Walk," "Man in the Box," etc.

Probably not his style of music.

My guitar teacher taught me the tab for KUSHIDA's theme. It's pretty fun to play.

Hahaha, I like metal enough but not anything Metallica did post-Cliff Burton and I can't stand Pantera at all. Alice in Chains is DEFINITELY not my thing. Give me Judas Priest over all of those bands if I'm going to listen to metal.

So here's the kicker, what's your take on "Perfect Strangers," which is my dark horse pick for favorite ECW theme?

Oh, Shane Douglas' theme? Works for me. I don't have an opinion on later Deep Purple though, if that's what you're asking.

I feel that I should clarify that although I do not like those songs on their own and wouldn't listen to them myself, I do actually enjoy them as entrance music. Wrestling uses a whole lot of songs that sound good with the presentation, but I wouldn't listen to them in daily life or anything.

It works the other way, too. I love Jerry Lynn and we share a lot of favorite bands, but none of his entrance music has been memorable.

Another special shout out, this time to the WWF in the '80s for their wacky use of '80s pop hits for their TV. Axel Foley's theme from Beverly Hills Cop for the pre-commercial bumper theme? Yes. Frankie Goes to Hollywood as the SNME intro? Hell yeah. "Take Me Home" as the SNME outro was perfect. That was another thing I liked about ECW - their use of relatively current music (whether or not I actually liked the songs didn't matter) and then using songs like "One Step Beyond" by Madness for some of their house show ads.

I was stoked when I found out Jerry Lynn was a GWAR fan. Hell-O! was one of my favorite albums as a kid. Proud owner of the original LP on Shimmy Disc over here.

CM Punk should have gotten the guys from Sick of It All to write an extended version of their "Clobberin' Time" intro for his entrance, although "Cult of Personality" worked out just fine.

This is one of the most epic themes ever for me. 0:50 to 1:02 is perfect.

True story: I got into Black Sabbath as a little kid because the Road Warriors came out to "Iron Man." Being a wrestling fan has affected my life for the better in so many ways.

That's cool. I've said a few times that I got into death metal because Jerry Lynn praised Nile and Dying Fetus in a WOW interview.

I actually have ECW to thank for getting me into a lot of bands. Hell, Rob Zombie's promo that he recorded for the company circa '98ish was the first time I ever saw him. I asked my brother "who's the weird guy with the beard?". Him, being a huge White Zombie fan, laughed at my ignorance.

When I was doing radio, I gotta say, Harry Slash made the best bumpers and intros.
