I hope we get a third GGG-Canelo fight in 2021.

I want that, too. But I fear Golovkin might be getting a bad deal here. I thought he won the first fight by at least a couple rounds; it was called a draw. The second fight was closer but far from a clear victory for Canelo. For the last year+, Alvarez has been trying to cast it as a "been there, done that" scenario in which he's clearly beyond GGG. It seems to have worked for some but I'm not seeing it.

I'd like a trilogy fight in May and versus Charlo in September.

I also thought Golovkin won the first two fights, but as long as it's close, Canelo will always get the decision (Lara, Trout).

At this point, I'd like to see Golovkin move up to 168. If he looks good there, maybe a third fight could be possible. But at his age, it's going to be tough to keep it as close.

Two fights ago, I would've disagreed about Golovkin moving up to 168. After Friday night, though, I agree. He still looks sharp, super powerful, and I think he could compete for a belt at super middle. If that's what it takes to get one more fight with Alvarez, so be it. I just hope it happens next year. Even GGG will get old.

And, to be clear, I don't think Canelo is ducking him or whatever. They fought twice. Like his former promoter, De La Hoya, he routinely fights the best competition. So far, however, his luck with the judges hasn't run out for Canelo like it did for Oscar against Trinidad and Mosley in '99 and 2003.

This Henry Armstrong thing of winning championships at multiple weight classes, concurrently, is a historic privilege for boxing fans.

Chocolatito looked GREAT in his last fight. Looking forward to that rematch vs. Estrada.

I gotta make sure I take off work that weekend. The Many Saints of Newark premiers on the 12th and then Estrada-Chocolatito the next night.

@909, any chance I can get this pinned so I don't have to bump?

I can't believe Frankie Edgar is still fighting. I have a Zoom game night thing this Saturday and now I kinda wanna blow it off and watch that old man go.

There are some fights I think are worth highlighting that aren't on your list. Arreola/Ruiz is next weekend, and I think the Pettis/Collard fight is the best one on the PFL card tonight. It's also the main event. Palmer/Jenkins ain't bad either.

I don't really see the Ruiz fight as being all that intriguing and I'm not really interested in the other two PFL fights (or PFL in general, for that matter). But hey, you listing them in this post may give someone else the incentive to catch them!

That PFL card delivered, and Clay Collard definitely delivered. Crazy ending to the fight too, but Showtime is clearly washed and Collard might be the next big thing if his wrestling background holds up defensively.

Schulte v Held may be my FOTY so far in 2021. I fell asleep immediately after the decision so I'll have to catch the main sometime today after I catch up on some boxing.

A lot of good fights coming up, both boxing and MMA.

I can't believe Glover is at +200. I feel like unless he somehow taps Jan early off of a freak takedown, he has no real shot at winning. He is going to get battered on the feet.

Something new I'll be adding: ten most anticipated fights (on paper). Not necessarily the most exciting or the most intriguing but the best from a rankings/P4P standpoint.

Heard that was because it is also serving as a replacement fight in case a title challenger drops out. These guys will be training like it is one, should be sick. Too bad they’re not making it five rounds.

I'm probably gonna get in the habit of posting updates in the body of this thread to reference the main post.
