Rocksmith 2014 got an update with a new Microphone Mode. It adds the ability to play with an acoustic guitar, input to the game via a microphone—skipping the USB cable required until now for electric guitars.

A bunch of news for Shovel Knight here.

http://yachtclubgames.com/2017/01/switch-up/
  • Nintendo Switch version coming.
  • The various campaigns/modes will be sold individually on consoles and PC soon.
  • Overall umbrella/bundle name for everything will be changed to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. Existing owners of the game will receive "Treasure Trove" free, and continue receiving new campaigns for free.

  • Campaign #3, Specter of Torment, is also coming this spring.
    • At the same time, a Body Swap Mode (i.e. gender swap) will be released.
  • 2-player co-op is coming for the original Shovel Knight campaign on consoles & PC.
  • Campaign #4 for King Knight, and a 4-player battle mode are coming later this year.

E3 will have 15,000 public tickets available this year. On sale on Monday. I assume they'll sell out instantly, but I think I'm going to try to get one. I've always wanted to attend an E3.

Edit: looks like it's only for the show floor and not the conferences. Less tempting, but still tempting.

Origin Access on PC is offering a 7-day trial at the moment. The reddit post claims the trial will only be available until March 7.

They also now have an annual rate of $30 (vs. $5/month), which the Xbox One version has had since it started.

I read that Duck Tales 2 and Chip 'n Dale 2 were released at the end of the NES' life. That's why they're forgotten.

Day 1 purchase for me. I never had an NES but remember going to play Chip and Dale at a friend's house. Never got to try Darkwing Duck. Pumped.

I played a demo of this at the EMP Museum in Seattle two years back. It has one of the most unique approaches to a competitive game that I've ever seen.

I was going to make a flippant post about how the last big android console box changed console gaming, but I can't even remember what that thing was called. When I can't even remember it's name to kick it you know it flopped. It was crowdfunded, got a ton of hype....anyone? I'm seriously clueless here.

My dumbass...

1. I was in an "everything 50% off" type store within the last two years and saw an Ouya for $150 and came stupidly close to buying it for the $75.00 after discount.

2. My job recently switched to VOYA for our retirement accounts. I was in the initial meeting with the representatives from VOYA and the guy gave us a history of the company, including their origins as ING. I offered up, "and don't you guys have a division in consumer gaming as well?" He said, "huh, I guess we do? I don't know doesn't ring a bell, but we're a pretty big company." Dear God the face palm when I went google around afterwards and realized it was OUYA.

Secret of Mana is getting a full remake for PS4, VITA, and Steam. I wish it was coming to the switch, but it looks awesome so I'll get it for one of those.

I had heard that it was a part of a Seiken Densetsu trilogy remake bundle. I hope that's true, as I want them all.

Though, just getting SoM remade is happiness.

I was talking to a friend earlier about how I want to play something more tactical, where your team had to communicate and strategize before launching an offensive. He recommended Ghost Recon Wildlands, which I remember when as I sales a few months back, so I go into the PS store and find it.

"Unavailable to download."

What? I try other versions and get the same answer, then I checked my library and find out that I bought it when it was on sale those months ago and just never downloaded it.

L.A. Noire is getting a current-gen release in November. Great game marred by a shit ending and nightmare stories about the development.

I was always so terrible at the those interrogation scenes. I really should beat it one of these days.
