I like this matchup based on the history of the game. I'm a Giants fan, so I have no stake in either team, but there are some cool notes.

- Tom Brady makes his 10th appearance in a Super Bowl. He's the 4th QB to start for 2 different teams in the Super Bowl
- Tampa Bay becomes the first team to play in the SB in their home stadium
- Kansas City could become the first team to win back to back Super Bowls since the Patriots
- The back to back winning Patriots had Tom Brady at QB, and the second win was against the Eagles, coached by Andy Reid

Brady is indeed the 4th QB to start for 2 different teams in the SB

Brady, P. Manning, Kurt Warner...

Without looking it up name the 4th....

Trent Dilfer was going to be my weird 4th guess but his run with Bucs predated their first Super Bowl run. It turns out it's a guy that no one here except maybe Slim is old enough to remember their playing career.

Dilfer?

edit: this guess was without seeing Kampala’s post.

edit 2: I’m leaving his name as Kampala.

Without looking it up or reading any posts after this, thinking....

craig Morton, at least I think that was his name he played for the broncos and cowboys back in the day iirc.

I would've rooted for the Bucs if they played against the Bills cause it would've been funny to see TB12 pants an old AFC East rival again. However, unlike most of my FELLOW NEW ENGLAND MEN, I've decided to root for The Chiefs because I don't want TB12 to win a ring without Belichick.

Like most TRUE NEW ENGLAND MEN, most of my rooting interests are based on spite.

I had guessed Kerry Collins on the above, reasoning that he had played for both NYG and Carolina, but being off on his Panther career timeline. Wouldn't have hit Craig Morton in a million years.

10 Questions

Over/Unders
- Mahomes tops 350 passing yards - over, but close
- Tyreek Hill tops 175 receiving yards - under
- Travis Kelce tops 125 receiving yards - over

10 Questions
#1: Predict the Winner and Final Score - Buccaneers 34/Chiefs 28.
#2: Who Wins MVP? - Tom Brady
#3: Which Player is the Surprise Super Bowl Hero? - Leonard Fournette
#4: Which Commercial(s) Are You Looking Forward To? - I'd normally have said Budweiser but they're sitting it out. Curious about the Robinhood one though.
#5: Who Gets Injured Early? - Mecole Hardman Jr.
#6: Is There a 4th Quarter Comeback to Win? - Yes
#7: Does Brady Retire After the Game If He Wins? - No. The drive to repeat or be back to back would be too great.
#8: Do We Get a Late Game Brawl Like the AFC Title Game? - Nah but things could get chippy if a call is very questionable.
#9: Do We See an Onside Kick Recovered or Trick Play TD? - Yes on the Trick Play TD for Kansas City
#10: Do We See a Special Teams TD? - No but I could see a 60-70 yard return on either side.

Over/Unders
- Mahomes tops 350 passing yards OVER
- Tyreek Hill tops 175 receiving yards OVER
- Travis Kelce tops 125 receiving yards UNDER
- Tom Brady has less than 2 INT and throws for 300+ yards UNDER and OVER
- Mike Evans and Chris Godwin combine for 175+ receiving yards UNDER only because Evans will likely get hurt at some point
- Chiefs and Bucs combine for 150+ rushing yards UNDER but they get really close
- Chiefs and Bucs combine for 8 Sacks OVER. I think the Buccaneers could legitimately get 5-6 Sacks with Fisher injured and Chiefs get 2-3 themselves.
- 15 Commercial Breaks by the end of the 1st Quarter UNDER only due to companies pulling out

I'm cheering for old man Brady, partly because him succeeding knocks the pats down a few pegs. Amendola puts it best:

"When you see 'Patriot Way' in the dictionary, its going to have Tom Brady's name next to it," Amendola said. "None of those coaches threw any passes. None of those coaches caught any passes. None of those coaches made any tackles. But Tom Brady is the Patriot Way and that's the reason why Tom Brady is in the Super Bowl right now and the Patriots aren't."

him winning would prove there's nothing special about that franchise and would foreshadow their upcoming decades of failure.

Yes, Budweiser is sitting out doing Super Bowl ads, but only Budweiser as a specific brand. Every other Busch brand will have commercials as far as I'm aware. It would be like if Disney said they were sitting it out, but still did commercials for Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar.

I'm having a hard time with this game. The easiest thing to do is say "KC has Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill, the end". But there are things that favor TB (and TB!). Even in a pandemic, being at home should help Tampa to some extent. KC being out multiple O-linemen is the biggest on-field development. Andy Reid's son (who is KC's LB coach) fucking up majorly has to be a big distraction.

Well, very fitting for me he roots for the Bucs since he and Brady were two men I adored from youth through adulthood until seeing their gross MAGA beliefs in recent years.

Real talk - something similar has probably been said before but this Bucs team feels like one of those Shaq Miami teams with all the random vets who are winding down coming together to try to get a ring. I mean they line up and it’s like “Oh yeah, there’s Jason Pierre-Paul”. Who knows? Maybe after Shaq’s AEW debut he will go to training camp with the Bucs next year.

Also I want to say poor job on the end of the graphic designer for the logo this year. Placing the trophy between the L and V for LV makes it look like Super Bowl LIV and we all know the Liv Morgan memorial bowl was last year
