Jesse and Festus (and to a lesser extent, The Kendrick and Zeke) mattered to me

I don't get what Kendrick's going to do without 'Zeke, besides get released. Being a jerk and hiding behind Zeke was all the character they elected to give him. Now that's gone.

Jesse's entire character up until now was Festus's controller. Now that's gone.

I stand by my earlier conspiracy theory, it'll be easier to release these guys when they 'fail' on their new show.
