Not a good day for me. Xbox just got the 3 red rings, again, so no more dominating in UFC for a few weeks :-\, and now Firefox is acting stupid. Some sites won't work for some reason and I can't figure out why. I can't go to Xbox.com for instance. It's not my computer as it opens fine in IE, but when I try in FF it takes me straight to some long ass site name,

"https://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=10&ct=1242939274&rver=5.5.4177.0&wp=MBI&wreply=https:%2F%2Flive.xbox.com%2Fxweb%2Flive%2Fpassport%2FsetCookies.ashx%3Frru%3DhttpZ3AZ2FZ2FwwwZ2ExboxZ2EcomZ2FenZ2DUSZ2FdefaultZ2Ehtm&cb=H001033httpZ3AZ2FZ2FwwwZ2ExboxZ2EcomZ2FenZ2DUSZ2FdefaultZ2Ehtm&id=66262&lc=1033"

that just keeps trying to reopen. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, I've deleted cookies/history/etc. and the same thing keeps happening. Anyone know why, or how I'm supposed to fix it?

If you've gone as far as uninstalling and all that, try doing a search of your whole hard drive for items named "firefox", back up your bookmarks, and delete all of them before reinstalling.

Thanks. Don't know what the problem was but a full delete fixed it.

This is probably a waaaaaay old known thing. I finally got my knew PC after my main laptops old, slow way would no longer even load ubuntu (or any of it's counterparts) and I couldn't get XP back on.

I have Vista and everytime I go to install Firefox it stops me saying it's a harmful file attempting to corrupt windows. I'm not even angry. Infact I think i'll keep using IE on the fact that it's so 'evil' and takes it's ball home.

I can't view Wikipedia images on Firefox 3, even though the "load images automatically" box is checked. I've even tried checking Adblock to see if I could find the images it was blocking, but I couldn't see them listed.

I downgraded to Firefox 2 not too long ago, but the back BUTTon wasn't working too well, so I re-upgraded of course.

Any solutions to the images problem, or will I just have to use IE every time I want to see Wikipedia images?

Not much of a difference. The header pics on Wikipedia pages still never show, but I can see any images near the paragraphs if I click on the blank icons much like the previous version.

I use Firefox 99.9% of the time, and I have none of these problems. I was using Wikipedia earlier this week and everything came up just fine. I would bite the bullet and do a reinstall of Windows, because this sounds like a much deeper problem than Firefox acting up. Just be sure all of your important files are backed up someplace else before you do.

Not a problem anymore, I just now unchecked the "block images from wikimedia" box on Page Info and that made the header image show up this time.
