Really enjoyed the STWW on Yokozuna. Love learning that Yokozuna's favorite food was TURKEY ASS. I know I'm in the minority here but I still enjoy a lot of the Conrad Thompson podcasts. At least the non-watchalong episodes (never got too into Schiavone's). Although Bischoff's kind of wears thin. Haven't heard Arn's yet though.

Also STWW is gonna have a Fabulous Moolah episode and I'm already kind of dreading Bruce being gross defending Moolah! Fun fun.

I'm curious to try Arn's show but I have very little expectations.

I also never did podcasts before really starting with Prichard's in late 2017. I've found with the wrestling podcasts that I just get irritated and burned out by most of them. I had a stretch where I couldn't listen to the Conrad podcasts anymore when it was Prichard and Bischoff (I never really listen to Schiavone since they turned to full watch alongs seeing those are like the only ones of Bruce I've never done). I never got back to Bischoff because he usually frustrates me and never says anything new or interesting. Even with Bruce's nonsense there is an interesting nugget here and there. Whether it is true or not is another story.

I had enjoyed Hawkins and Ryder but they can get irritating at times. This week's was really bad because they let the indy guy that works on Hawkins' school promotion that does their editing and stuff on and he was awful. He hadn't really bothered me the times he's popped in here and there but he was super obnoxious when they had him on the whole show and kinda came across as the guy that has let the success of the show as I know they are now paying him which I think may be replacing his day job since they went all in on Patreon and all the merch stuff their fans tend to buy.

Maybe it is just listening to these people so much without anyone really trained on programming but it is just the same draining repetitive stuff. JR is usually the least offensive but I usually roll my eyes or swear in the car when he starts doing his little "thimble balls" thing.

I'm kind of burning out on most wrestling podcasts as well for a lot of the same reasons. I think I'm down to the Attitude Era podcast and I think even that show has kinda gotten stale. I still like OSW Review a lot if we add video podcasts to the mix. I tried to get back into WHW but after fast forwarding through 20 fucking minutes of ads/preamble and too much dead air/tangents (the biggest flaw of a "watch along" format), I quit again.

I'm listening to the first episode of After the Bell. 10 minutes of Seth Rollins bitching about Twitter and the fans isn't how I'd open my first episode, but that's me (he's turning heel.....right?)

It’s crazy that he cares so much about Twitter fans. Also him whining about how the fans are always whining reminds me of how conservatives get SO OFFENDED by PC culture being offended at something.

The thing is, Bayley (a heel) goes on almost the EXACT SAME rant later before hanging up on Corey when he asks her about Sasha. I know it's the running joke, but Bayley's character really is "Rebellious 16 year old who is going to get her nose pierced because FUCK YOU MOM" now.

The show is ok, but not anything I'd go out of my way to listen to.

The New Day podcast is fun if only because those three could just read the phone book and still be entertaining. Can't wait to hear the list of rejected names they have.

I haven't listened to another Afterthe Bell because fuck Corey Graves.

My pal Sam (and his mate Liam) host a wrestling podcast called Fool's Count Anywhere. They don't go over star ratings or workrate, just what works and doesn't work in pro wrestling as far as narrative, character development, and overall presentation. Worth a listen.

Drunkass Cary Silkin is one of the *last* people I would guess would start a podcast but him rambling about pre gentrification Times Square and ROH's glory days sounds like it could be at least entertaining in unintentional comedy sense.

I got retweeted by Conrad Thompson. Didn't even tag him so he did a vanity search.

Maybe if I tagged him, I would've gotten a free "Super Hard Dick" t-shirt or something. :-\

It’s embarrassing hearing JR’s widowed self talking about taking pills to get a hard on.

The Conrad shows haven’t been great lately. Prichard shows have been much shorter since going back to Vince. Which I understand.

Bischoff’s had the best show for a while of the bunch, but he just repeats the same few Meltzer lines over and over again every episode. It’s also not great when he tires way too hard to be entertaining.

Arn’s show is alright. But it seems like he doesn’t have a lot when every other week is a Q&A.

JR’s show is kind of a hate listen. He absolutely loves taking an obvious side of an argument and acting like he’s on an island all to himself. He also goes off at any critiquing at all.

I gave up on Tony’s show early. They did a watch along of Barley Legal which I thought could be fun. I assumed it would be a lot of Tony with “what the hell am I watching?” But it was just him trying to force bad humor into every line.

That's about when I gave up on it. Conrad ruined the Dick To Go joke. They were pretty clear Tony was doing it to raise money for his daughter's wedding at that time, but Conrad going for ten minutes on an unfunny bit about Barbarian asking Tommy Young to jerk him off then saying "Roll Tide go to Wrestletees.com and buy the new TOMMY YOUNG COME JERK ME OFF t-shirt" by the end made me never want to listen to one of his podcasts again.

And I’ll publicly execute anyone I see in public wearing a Tony Schavione’s wife shirt.

STWW - Honestly they should probably just put this show on hiatus for as long as Bruce is working with the WWE. I don't like when people bash Conrad on Twitter, because it's free and they have given us hundreds of hours, but Bruce just doesn't have enough time to really go in depth on the podcasts anymore. Him also being gone from 2008-2019 also makes the bridge for a lot of wrestlers incomplete and there are some fascinating characters we cannot get a whole retrospective on.

WHW - Probably the one I actually enjoy the most, but the format makes it so it isn't really a must listen. I'm glad they changed the format because Tony could not do the show that Bruce does, but some of the long, boring shows just aren't as interesting.

83 Weeks - I like Eric's honesty, except when he lies. Think that's enough said.

Grilling JR - Agree with YNA, it's kind of a hate listen. It's too bad too because JR has been everywhere, but his tangents he goes off on becomes a little too much sometimes. He had one the other day (think it was Rumble 2005), when Conrad brought up a report of WWE trying to get Sting and The Rock wanted a match with him at Mania, and JR went on a weird rant about people not wanting to see that match when I think 99.9% of people would want to see it. I do feel bad for JR because he probably gets shit on too much, but he really is one of the worst people handling criticism.

Arn - Good storyteller. Like the show, but also agree it's too much if every other show is a Q&A.

I know people have turned Conrad down, but I really think he should have kept his current stable of shows to three of them and maybe go for an ECW or TNA show.

And one thing the Conrad podcasts needs to killed when they mention “Raw did a 4.4 rating twenty years ago. They’d kill for that number today.” Yeah. Those days are over for tv in general. There are too many options and distractions out there. If 1999 Austin and Rock showed up tomorrow those numbers would still never return. It’s just different now.

I listened to a few Sean Mooney shows. But he’s awful. He would get guests that no one else would get, but then it would just sound like he’d read their Wikipedia page back to them for the chat. And his shoes would run the same ad half a dozen times in the show.

I legitimately want a Barry Horowitz podcast. Enhancement to lower card guys, who just had that ceiling, talking could be pretty cool.

Was listening to JR podcast on No Way Out '00 on my way to a show last night. I was agog at his story about having to have a sitdown with Viscera over Big Daddy V taking Viagra and watching porn on the road

This is the year 2000 too. Did Viscera hook up a TV and DVD player and just sit there watching pornos while Naked Mideon and The Big Bossman try to work out their matches!?

World's Largest Love Machine indeed.

Speaking of which, his former tag team partner Val Venis is the subject of Something To Wrestle With this week. I wonder if they'll mention his current galaxy brained politics!

Brodie Lee is scheduled for Jericho’s podcast tomorrow. Have the feeling this could be more insane/ entertaining than the Moxley one as Brodie got booked worse than Mox.

When Front Row Material with Mikey Whipwreck and Jerry Lynn has the lightest amount of focus it can be a pretty fun show. It gets into the habit of going off the rails and the guys often spend too much time trying to entertain each other and becomes a wreck.

Mikey as The Iron Sheik never fails to make me laugh though.

Now I know that two of my favorites from classic ECW have a podcast and I'm on board. Thanks, YNA!

Bruce Prichard's defense of 1995 WWF booking is some real galaxy brained shit, even by his standards of WWE apologism

The weird thing is he also talked at length in this episode about how much he hated the way they tried to humanize Diesel as a smilin’ babyface instead of letting him be the big, bad ass-kicker he got over as, and he also retold the story about him and Pat facepalming after Vince decided the day after WM11 that Michaels should be a babyface, something they had been unsuccessfully trying to tell him for months.

Should he though? HBK was always better as a heel, and his shtick as a face I always thought would eventually cause 14-34 year old males to turn on him.

I know Prichard was surely trolling but what an odd example to give. They literally turned .Shawn the next night on .Raw after Mania 11 because the smart/hardcore fans were cheering him over Nash. So they were actually listening to smart fans in that instance.

Bruce Prichard is full of shit and always has been. That there are folks nowadays who think he's doing anything but towing the company line is disheartening.

Part of his appeal to me is that he is the ultimate asskisser for Vince and the mental gymnastics he does to try and argue in the boss' favor.

Reading an article from The Ringer on the recent rise of actors from '90s/'00s TV series doing podcasts recapping their old series and I froze.

Was pro wrestling AHEAD of the curve of mainstream entertainment for once? Maybe Conrad Thompson is actually a visionary!?   Doot doot doot doo
