There was a Cinema Snob episode awhile ago - I wish I remembered more - where someone was taking a tape out of a VCR or fiddling with something and his joke was "No! Now you won't be able to tape Monday Night Raw!". Most people commenting on the video thought it was just a joke / shout-out for Spoony though.

Had to be. Cinema Snob complained about Stone Cold Steve Austin's inclusion in The Expendables and could barely remember Kevin Nash's name in Almighty Thor.

Amongst the Channel Awesome crew, I know for sure that Welshy, SadPanda, the guy who hosts Rocked Reviews (who's also an indie wrestler) and Guru Larry are still wrestling fans. Rap Critic has gotten into NXT thanks to his girlfriend, Lady Jess (a.k.a. "Internet A.J."). Dena Natali and Phelous are fans too, I'm just not sure if they still watch or not.

Todd In The Shadows and Film Brain have said that they were fans in the past. Both stopped watching around the time John Cena rose to dominance, oddly enough.

Only 8-Bit Mickey, Linkara and Obscurus Lupa have said that they've never watched wrestling (although Lupa still made a cameo appearance in an OSW Review podcast).

I did know that AVGN was (at some point) a wrestling fan as I've seen numerous references in his videos, but I didn't know NC was. He never struck me as one. I would have put Linkara, who I'm surprised is not a wrestling fan, in front of NC.

I know the guys as Screen Junkies are wrestling fans. They use a modified version of the RAW set as their background for Movie Fights. Jeremy Jahns and the Schmoes Knows guys were/are fans as well. When they teamed up on Movie Fights they called themselves The Megapowers.

Jon Campea was/still is a wrestling fan. He talked about it numerous times on AMC Movie Talk and dropped references every once and awhile (one of their videos was my inspiration for the Vince biopic thread). He even attended Wrestlemania this year and wore his Tito Santana shirt.

The guys at ComicBookCast2 are fans too. I know during their commentary of the Power Ranger movie where Ivan Ooze summons his purple minions to fight the Rangers, one them commented it reminded him of something that The Undertaker would do.

Wrestling is just a really long version of a fight scene from a movie. Who doesn't like cool fight scenes?

I went to the Oddball comedy festival a few weeks back and Jeff Ross said he looked like "Stone Cold Steve Auschwitz".

About an hour later, Aziz Ansari was talking about the Sandra Bland situation with the cop that pulled her over. He mentioned how the guy with the tazer screamed out "I'm gonna light you up!". Aziz then states that the cop was so animated out of nowhere that he was 2 seconds away from saying "If you smell what The Rock is cookin".

watched that Roast Battle on Comedy Central this weekend and one of the final battles had some guy dropping Chris Benoit references - it was in Canada, so it got (to me) a surprisingly big reaction

This is not be a reference so much as an appearance but I flipped out watching Detroiters on Comedy Central this week.

They had always referenced one of the main character's father as the founder of the advertising firm before having a mental breakdown. This week's episode, his dad returns and it is KEVIN FUCKING NASH

Bending the topic bounds here but....

Last night at Wal-mart they made us watch a 30 minute video about an employee who was searching for the father she had never met. When they finally got together, she was so happy that she gave him a smiley face pin. Now we have a smiley face pin "award" for employees who "put smiles on people's faces" named after this woman.

So basically a combo of the Warrior Award and the WWE PR post Benoit. Ugh.

Makes sense, they're the WalMart of pro wrestling.

Also, did anybody else go through this thread, see Venk's post, and get really sad?

Seemed like there were a lot of unexpected wrestling references last night. Smackdown! Live commercials were to be expected. But The Rock cutting promos before the team intros? Socialist Daniel Bryan being happy to shill for Discover Card? Ric Flair for Sabra Hummus?

You CANNOT convince me Naitch has ever eaten hummus, TSM.

All I know is all morning, I've been imagining Ric Flair listing off Israeli foods like he listed off WCW wrestlers on the last Nitro.

HUMMUS! STUFFED GRAPE LEAVES! FALAFEL! TABBOULEH! WOOOOOOOO!

I mentioned up in another thread that I had been watching a BBC faux-reality show from a few years ago called Almost Royal. Watching the episode in Detroit today and they filmed a scene at ROH show in Dearborn a few years back. The segment starts that they were invited by Truth Martini and they did a segment with him backstage. During clips of them watching the show I definitely caught Bobby Fish and Cedric Alexander before they were brought in for an in-ring segment in front of the live crowd with Nigel that Truth interrupted.

If you remember Bowling for Soup, they are releasing a song called Alexa Bliss tomorrow. In trying to find details, apparently she filmed a music video for them last month.

I'm sure WWE will mention Alexa getting an entire song/music video dedicated to her...ok no I'm not. Good for her though.

It's nice to see a pop-punk singers being into adult women, at least.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes were interviewed during the second quarter of the Knicks/Hawks game. I thought it was kind of a blown interview, myself: Cody put over the lashing gimmick, and the upcoming show at State Farm Arena, but neither the Rhodes' nor Andre Aldridge happen to mention how fans could get tickets.

I'd pay at least $10 to observe Triple H and Screamin' A try to make small talk.

Well surprised by the cameo then not surprised, I finished watching a show on DC Universe then not sure what to put on, I just hit their daily show to run while I did my next thing. They ran a preview for a show called All Star Games where Freddie Prinze Jr plays comic themed games with other celebrities and in the first episode of some retro DC board game RPG, he had Xavier Woods.

I needed to buy some framing stuff so I was in a Michaels store yesterday. In line and I did a double take when I saw this magazine cover in the racks on the way to the register

I feel like I'm having a fever dream with two nights of audience-less WrestleMania, the Firefly Funhouse match, and now Rick Pitino is stanning Otis.

I like how even after the escort scandal that Pitino is so sexed up will still retweet Otis and Mandy prepping for sexy time.

He may never get another shot with a major program (Sorry Iona) or in the NBA but let's see how Pitino does as Smackdown GM.

Rare situation where The Miz is the unquestionably the less douchey person in the conversation.
