Best Buy has the new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes blu-ray on sale for $11.99, so I just used some reward certificates I had there to get it for a couple bucks.

They also have some other deals like 22 Jump Street blu-ray for $14.99 and both season of Arrow on blu-ray for $30 together.

One other thing is they have their "Sony Savestation" titles for $9.99, including some fairly decent titles.  They are all B1G1 free right now.  Some of the titles include:

21 Jump Street, Amazing Spider-man, Inside Llewyn Davis, White House Down, Hotel Transylvania, Olympus Has Fallen, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, After Earth, Superbad, This is the End

There's like 90 titles and then some newer stuff on DVD also.  Was debating grabbing a couple for myself and a few as gifts but I just stocked up for the year on Black Friday sales

Just impulsively and semi drunkenly bought the Rocky and Planet of the Apes Blu Ray box sets on Amazon for $19.99 a piece.

Now I'm gonna dream about Rocky Balboa punching out Dr. Zaius. :)

Barnes & Noble is having a 40% off sale on ALL DVD's and Blu-Rays. If you have a Membership, you can get them for a pretty great 50% off in store only (along with free shipping when ordering online).

Amazon has the box set with all four Shrek movies for $19.99.

The last one felt very straight to video when I saw it in theatres but the first two are classics and worth the price of the set.  I remember nothing of the third other than the deal they made about putting Justin Timberlake in the cast.

So rarely buy movies these days but I'm mapping out some Black Friday purchases.

Best Buy's ad for the 3/15 ones leaked and they have Big Short for $19.99. I expect Amazon to match though.

Carol also is released that day and BB has that at $17.99

I just have a hard time paying more than $15 on something these days and even that is rare.

For those planning on seeing Batman vs Superman, Best Buy has a bunch of DC animated titles on blu-ray starting around $9 and some TV shows on blu-ray seasons starting around $15 with free ticket to the movie.  Think they have some of the movies for around $7.

I am going to go IMAX 3D Batman vs. Superman so the ticket provided won't cover the whole ticket but looking to see if it can at least take out a chunk.

Wrote up a quick article on saving money buying books/CDs/DVDs that are pretty commonly known. I did feature DVD Price Search which is a tool I absolutely love using though.

Yep, have order stuff on back order that had really good sales prices before and always got em for that price whenever they got more no matter how long it took. Also on that note Ferris Bueller's Day Off (Bueller... Bueller... Edition)BR is in the same boat at $4.

Looking around I realized the MCU movies really keep their prices up, even the first Iron Man is still over $18.

Yeah, I usually buy them at release due to this.  I tried waiting on Iron Man 3 and ended up getting it when it randomly went to like $15

Gotta love amazons customer service sometimes(non sarcastically), got my F&F set but it didn't have the insert with the code(s) for the digital copies so I e-mailed them about it and my response was,

"Hello,
I'm so sorry to know the Fast & Furious 1-7 Collection - Limited Edition (Blu-ray + DIGITAL HD with UltraViolet) you ordered the Digital code missing from inside item packaging. This usually doesn't happen.
In this case, there's no need to return the item received. You're welcome to keep, donate or dispose of it--whichever option is most appropriate and convenient for you.
I've created a free replacement order for the to be shipped to you at no charge."

So yeah, gonna have 2 copies of the set now, heh
