Cleveland Browns: Executive VP in charge of personnel Sashi Brown has been fired. Owner Jimmy Haslam said that head coach Hue Jackson will come back for the 2018 season.

The Zombie Browns are the worst. The pre '96 Browns, people protested the move. If the present Browns folded, no one would bat an eye.

I would, they have too many good players to go do that. They just fired a guy who used his last 24 picks to draft 20 players who could have given a multi-year contribution to any decent football team. You know how insane that is? That's borderline impossible to do. They used their pick cache to build a decent team and decided to pick a coach that's ruining it over the person that's been rebuilding the team. Incredible.

Ryan Shazier is having spinal stabilization surgery. I still have not read anything that indicates he can move his legs.

What's more amazing is that Hue is 1-27 for the Cleveland Browns at the moment. Yet, he's getting greenlit for a 3rd Season with this team. I really hope the Browns know what they're doing if indeed there was a "power struggle" and Hue won it.

Normally the team effect goes...

Year 1: HC brings in his staff. Maybe brings in some vets he's familiar with, handpicks rookies to build a foundation around.
Year 2: Rookies start/expected to make an impact. Aim for a 'core' of players and build around them.
Year 3: Expectations are that you're winning now. Think of it like college where your "first class" is making an impact and maybe last year's rookies are also making an impact in some areas.

Like you said, they have talent. Myles Garrett, DeShone Kizer, Jabrill Peppers are all noteworthy rookies and David Njoku is athletic at TE. Corey Coleman at WR flashed and TE Seth DeValve has been mostly solid after being a rookie last year. Carl Nassib, Joe Schobert, Duke Johnson Jr, Isaiah Crowell, Josh Gordon, and Nate Orchard also have talent/have flashed at times.

To have that collection of talent, granted some are rookies this year, and be 1-27 falls on inept coaching & poor utilization. Period. Any halfway competent head coach goes at least .400 over that stretch.

By comparison, Bill O'Brien at Houston has gone 31-29 in 3 and 1/2 years with the Houston Texans (including 9-7 3 straight years) despite mostly having no QB.

Fun Fact? Hue went 8-8 in 2011, same record as Oakland's prior year, but went from 6th to 16th in PPG and 20th to 29th in PPGA.

A lot of the media is buying into Hue being fine enough to turn things around saying he was told by the Notre Dame coach that they shouldn't have drafted Kizer and how he wasn't ready... and then they did anyways. I think they don't realize outside of the QB picks... the guy was making some solid ones for the rest of the team so :-\

What a piece of shit outcome. Next Saints game should be sponsored by the Red Cross with all them damn injuries. Shit.

But yeah, fan base needed to be taken down a notch after a Saints fan in Atlanta rented a plane and had it flying around the city taunting the Falcons. Still football to be played.

Browns ownership has listened to all the "so many coaches in so few years!" talk and said "all right, whoever the next guy is, we keep him for four years so it'll look like he had a chance."

Also and they know this now, good coaches don’t want to go there.   When that Cincinnati job opens,  that’s going to be a coveted job.

Not because of the roster by any means,  but because Katie and Mike Brown are going give you job security for a long ass time even if you continuously fall short at your job.

Former Kansas City Chiefs GM John Dorsey, who has 26 years of player personnel experience, has been hired as the new GM of the Browns organization.

Dorsey was the Director of College Scouting for Green Bay from 2000-2011 and GM of the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013-2016.

Didn’t he get fired for being completely disorganized?  Sounds like a good hire for talent evaluation and bad for management duties.

The Christmas Eve Browns/Bears game should have been a GM & Coaching staff pink slip on a pole match. Losing team gets fired on the spot. Jimmy Haslam took that good angle away from us.

The mistake was choosing franchises with no stars on teams that no one cares about.  The biggest star the Rams got is their coach.  That’s cool in college but not for a franchise that’s trying to capture a new fan base.

That’ll change when get they keep winning consistently and have better marketed stars.

I was gonna bet on Cleveland again because I've had decent success doing it this season but for some reason the spread is only 3 points and they're only +160 for a straight up win. Anyway, Cleveland wins tomorrow. Mark it down.

No surprise the Packers are losing to Cleveland.  The only thing this team has is Rodgers and the coaching is terrible.

Honestly though, I don't think 10 wins would have gotten the Packers in anyways, not with the Panthers/Falcons/Seahawks fighting for wildcards.  So a loss here might be a blessing in disguise if it keeps Rodgers healthy for next year and gets some deadweight fired.

I would say a lot less interesting now if we lose a Super Bowl contender for this year's 2016 Oakland Raiders.  Lame duck playoff teams are boring.

Seattle is completely melting down at the end of the Jacksonville game in kneel down time.  Two players have been ejected and Quinton Jefferson tried to jump in the crowd and attack a fan after a cup was thrown at him after his ejection.
