God, JBL is a piece of shit. Supposedly, he's the one who sent Mauro into his current depressive state.

How does JBL keep his job, let alone have people chanting his name? Despicable.

Guess I never really heard many Hayes stories but JBL seems like an ongoing pattern. Not to say I'm shocked Hayes is a dirtbag too.

From what I understand Hayes likes to use a word that begins with N and rhymes with chigger a lot.
I watched RAW. I thought it sucked. The usual problems and such.

Teddy Long said that was blown way out of proportion. I don't know if I believe him, but he criticized Ric Flair for using the same word towards him repeatedly.

Hopefully he can just move on. He seems like a good dude who doesn't need his issues exacerbated by working in such a toxic environment.

Meltzer has apparently been doing some digging on this and said that 15 different people have come forward to him with similar stories about JBL.

Guy seems like a real delight.

Wouldn't be shocked if this somehow leads to JBL being Demott'd by WWE some time soon.

Nothing will happen. JBL's been getting shit for this for years. HHH and Vince both approve of and have participated in this kind of behavior, and just like Michael Hayes, JBL knows where the bodies are buried. Mauro will go to the UFC and everything will go on like nothing happened.

I can see JBL becoming DeMott'd if more people come forward on his abuse. DeMott also got away with tons of shit in developmental for years (such as his dismissal in 2007 for being a dick which was swept under the rug before being quietly rehired in 2011). Nothing will happen now, no, but if Meltzer keeps digging and more and more people speak up? I can easily see him being canned (or "taking an office job").

JBL's an asshole. You really need nothing more than the "everyone thought he was an idiot" quote to prove that he was justifying how poorly he treated him.

You know that this'll start gaining more traction after JBL offered his own thoughts on it. Considering the close relationship between WWE and ESPN, I'm curious if Outside the Lines tries to take a look at this as they've covered a lot of hazing/abuse on campus stories including the infamous Florida A&M incident.

damn it's impressive Blackman ended up in the WWE at all, this story is insane:

Quote
Blackman appeared again on a WWF house show in Auburn Hills, Michigan on June 24, 1989 when he defeated Iron Mike Sharpe. He also wrestled Boris Zukhov on a Watertown, New York house show on September 2, 1989.[4] Blackman was being considered for a full-time contract with the company when he contracted malaria and dysentery while wrestling in South Africa in 1989 and was essentially bedridden for two years.

After finally beating his two-year bout with malaria, during which he lost much of his muscle-mass, Blackman spent another four years in physical therapy to recover his conditioning, and incorporated martial arts training, specifically escrima and tae kwon do, into his physical therapy. Once back in fighting shape Blackman contacted his friends Brian Pillman and Owen Hart for a new WWF try-out.

someone that goes through all that won't let you fuck around. also Blackman saved X-Pac's life, super cool dude.

Didn't Blackman come back for a one shot appearance a couple years ago (a Retro RAW maybe?) and he looked exactly the same as he did in 98

On Twitter, Meltzer is claiming that many of JBL's past announcer colleagues have contacted him saying they suffered the way Mauro did. Who were these people? Joey Styles? I would say Taz though I don't recall them ever being in the booth together.

The Spanish announcers would always go into detail about JBL being a dick to newcomers on their commentary. I thought it was part of the character but apparently it was shooting.

Forbes picked up on the story:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/alfredkonuwa/2017/04/07/wwe-john-bradshaw-layfield-might-still-have-workplace-bullying-problems/#46ac1bff6fad

This is becoming huge so I can't see the company ignoring it for much longer.
