Tito would kill Chuck and that fight shouldn't happen.

Sounds like Tim Hague is either dead or brain dead (there's conflicting reports) after a boxing match last night.

RIP. I hope this forces the UFC to reevaluate their visit to Edmonton in the fall. This death was completely preventable.

Random aside but people here mentioned Masvidal and Mighty Mouse as the best MMA boxers. I also want to throw Garbrandt in the mix.

His boxing in the cage looks low-level pro, and he has the amateur record to back it up. If he dedicated time to the sweet science, I have no doubt that he could get p. damn good. He would be competitive with some decent guys even now, imo.

There's no thread for this event and you know what I hate to say it, but Dennis Siver isn't a can and this is not a gimme fight at all for old weight drained BJ Penn. He had some decent wins before losing to elite featherweights recently (except for TK, who was just a bad style matchup and still has the elite top pressure). Siver looked even worse at the weigh in and is old too so hopefully that leads to a BJ win but the fact that I'm worried about his chances against Siver means that he should never fight a UFC-level fighter ever again.

I think Siver is gonna win. All BJ has shown his last few times out there is that he can be a punching bag.

Also based on the history of fighters who have missed weight, I gotta believe The Barbarian will beat Johny, probably by decision.

I know people want Kevin Lee to be legit but I can't get over the Santos brutalizing. Chiesa will have the same reach/height advantage that Santos did, and he's outlanded decent to good strikers. Kevin Lee almost always gets outlanded on the feet.

He's got really good takedowns though, and I think that is a big factor. Chiesa's also been out for over a year. They both have good ground games but unless Chiesa times it really well or has Lee hurt I don't think he'll be able to take him down.

I think Kevin could implement a good wrestling gameplan but I'm picking Chiesa because I think he has too many things going for him. If I had to get specific, I'd say he gets a tap late after wearing out Lee.

Mario blew it but I don't know what Maverick was going to do once Lee clasped his hands. There was 30 seconds left.

Bummer end for the main event. Mario continues to just keep screwing up. Whether he was going out or not you can't stop that. I know contested fights rarely get overturned, but this looks like a good case for one.

BJ is just bumming me out. He's doing damage to his legacy at this point. When a former top fighter doesn't have it anymore it's  sad seeing them losing to lesser fights. Guys like Randy and Chuck were at least losing to solid names on their way out.

Damn. This card could have used a couple more finishes. Between the prelims and main cats I was struggling to stay awake near the end.

Johnny may have burned and ate his UFC bridge. There's nothing to do with him right now.

If i had balls to bet I would have thrown money down on Tim and Clay as underdogs  tonight. Just felt like good matchups. Guide can be a tough grindy fight for anyone.

... and Justine Kish shat herself in the octagon. Had a good sense of humor about it though.

I can't for the life of me see what the upside would be for the UFC to keep Hendricks. Whether you think it's because of USADA or his earlier cuts to 170 his body is completely fucked and they still gave him a shot in a higher weight class and he blew it there. I'm sure Bellator would sign him just to bolster whatever division they stick him at but his value is nil at this point.

As far as the stoppage goes.......I dunno. In hindsight it's obviously a shitty one because Mike seemed fine but within that moment his eyes went blank, he stopped hand-fighting and looked out. I can't be too mad about it.

Damon Martin and Front Row Brian have both tweeted that there's a rumor going around that the UFC is going to not only do away with the Flyweight division but they're going to sell the division and all fighters under contract to another promotion.

You might get that wish. With Nate content to sit on the sidelines and not get paid and Khabib being the in doghouse over his weight problems that's a fight that could actually happen.

I saw a point on twitter that made sense as to why Bellator might have passed on him (or he might have passed on them) was because they don't hold live events overseas so his value wouldn't have been maximized.

Solid night of fights.

Awesome finishes for Felder and Ponzin...something something

Joanne Calderwood looking pissed at the decision was laughable. She got smoked and when Buffer started calling out 30-27 she was raising her hands.

On the prelims that Bofando guy got a knockout with basically a throw. I wouldn't call it a slam exactly. The guy's head went for the mat like an anchor.

Hometown crowd got the short end. Solid fights but most of their rooting interest's went down.

There's a certain poetry in a guy who has no business in the UFC but got a shot because he's affiliated with Conor losing two in a row by knockout and one of them involving him getting thrown onto his head.

It was a close fight and even though she's cute as a bugs ear Jojo's entire UFC career has been one giant disappointment so I'm not going to get upset over the result. I just hope that when 125 gets established she's still around to compete in it.

I had her losing. I think being a bleeder doesn't do any favors for judging. So maybe she wasn't blown out. But I didn't see her winning.
