I know it's easy to say in a loss like that, but he looked like an amateur in every sense. Got caught with a basic uppercut, gets dropped on the first big punch that lands, doesn't show any good defence in the guillotine. It is a tough fight for a guy making his debut, but it's hard to come back from a loss like that, let alone in your debut and with the amount of hype Pico had.

A guy who runs a podcast network I follow is an MMA enthusiast: he says that Bellator put on a card tonight that featured three title fights, and none of them were the headliner? Can that be true?

Yes, that's true. And the guy who would be worst for Bellator's business won all of them.

Considering Viacom executives would be at this show, I'm not even sure they make it to the end of the year putting on a product like this.

Here it is, check it out before it gets taken down.

Looks like they nearly pull off a double KO, but Fedor took the worst of it and was pretty much toast until the finishing blow.

I'm firmly in the "Fedor please retire" camp, but if they really want to throw him in there with Chael I'd be okay with it. Zero damage fight for Fedor.

I bet Bellator won't even last long enough to do that fight. The budget it takes to do a show like this and the losses they'll incur are going to be incredible.

I was able to catch the fights on YouTube. Glad I didn't order

A super quick hype train derail
A 25 minute forgettable title fight
Seeing an old Fedor get put down
The lightweight title fight ending with an early injury.
A predictable main event.

Conor's shit talking game is on such a high level that Chael's stuff comes off weak these days. And it's a shame, because his fights usually aren't fun and he needs the hype.

The free card was a mixed bag. The opening female fight was one of their usual can vs someone they're trying to build up. I wasn't overly impressed.

They kid they want to be their Conor looked great.

I didn't hate Davis vs Bader. It had moments. The fight was too close for me to score really. I think I thought Davis had it, but wasn't at all sure. And I'm not sure if it's really the ref's place to tell the fighters to fight harder. I've seen way duller fights than this.

Letting a guy go who main evented or co-main evented 11 times in the last few years says everything about the direction the UFC is currently headed in. Their new owners seem to be convinced they can sell people trash as long as it has the UFC name on it.

If Moose Sauce is fighting people aren't going to miss it. This is really stupid on their part, but what a signing for Bellator.

The stuff Mousasi is saying about Scott Coker treating fighters with respect pretty much says it all. He said Bellator are paying him, but it's not all about that.

6 fight deal.

Signed Mousasi. Wow. UFC are morons for letting him go.

Meltz says Mousasi wants to fight at 185, 205 and heavyweight and the UFC wouldn't let him move around. Bellator is also paying more, he was anti Reebok sponsorship and he found Coker more respectful to fighters

MVP has decided to become a pro boxer and has signed with David Haye's promotional company, which has a TV deal in the UK.

I think boxing may be more suited to his skillset.

Tonight's main event was fucking bananas! Shame it was ended due to a cut, but it was two badass rounds.

P.S. Joe Warren is still as boring as ever. 15 minutes of humping. The usual Warren match.

I don't remember who it was that I told once the dust settled after Bellator signed him, but I told somebody here that it wasn't worthwhile for the UFC to keep Larkin. His record was far too spotty to begin with and this game isn't kind to fighters once they've already been found out. Doesn't really matter if they went on a little streak in the meanwhile. The Magny win was one thing but that Masvidal fight should have been a draw.

The Magny win in hindsight with how Neil has performed against Hendricks and RDA is kinda exposed too. Larkin isn't an unskilled fighter but the idea that he was a top five welterweight when he joined Bellator was kinda hilarious.

On that note where does Paul Daley's left hook lie in the annals of mma in terms of GOAT striking techniques? That is an absolutely terrifying punch.

Main card for tonight's show is pretty sick, worth a look.

Bantamweight Eduardo Dantas (c) vs. Darrion Caldwell

Featherweight Daniel Straus vs. Emmanuel Sanchez

Featherweight Pat Curran vs. John Teixeira

Bantamweight Joe Taimanglo vs. Leandro Higo

Dantas vs Caldwell is one of the best fights outside the UFC right now and one of the best fights Bellator can put on, the rest are good showcases for 135/145.

Yeah. Not so much there

Risky move for Bellator opening the show with the woman's fight that had a combined record of 3-2 and a combined age of 75. I actually dozed off for a minute during this one.

The next fight. Was with guys that were initially on the prelim and got bumped due to fight cancellations. Nothing special.

The next female fight was a straight ass beating. I know they wanted to sell that Hardy woman as a star, then she got throughly destroyed.

Gracie did Gracie shit. Not much of a story there.

Main event was a bummer. I think round 1 was clearly Gegard and round 3 was clearly Shlemenko. I gave 2 to Gegard but it was close. Have to think it would have been a better performance had he not gotten his eye closed in round 1. Letdown of a fight

Mousasi was asked if he was happy with how his first Bellator fight went and the often brutally honest fighter had a harsh message for his critics:

“No, not at all,” Mousasi said. “But he punched me right in the eye in the first minute so I was fighting on instinct, trying to survive, I was fighting with one eye for almost three rounds so it didn’t go the way I wanted, but a win is a win. To the haters, they can suck it.

“I have a pretty long one, they can all get in line and suck it.”

“I’m not pissed off. I don’t care,” Mousasi continued. “I’m going to eat lobster. I’m going to sit in my farm, drive a tractor and my car. Who cares about these guys? I made my money. I have a better life than all of these bums.”

“If I win my next fight, they’re all going to forget the last one,” Mousasi said. “That’s how the memory of these idiots work. They have short memory. They’re like goldfish or something.”

Coker trying to recapture that Strikeforce magic, they announced yesterday that in 2018 there will be a HW tournament to determine the new champion. Participants are....

- Fedor
- Mir
- King Mo
- Mitrione
- Bader
- Chael (LOL)
- Rampage (Double LOL)
- Big Country

Jesus, this company has a shit heavyweight division. Only 4 heavyweights in their heavyweight tournament. Other than Bader none of these guys have looked good in a while. I also kinda hate Bellator for not giving up on trying to make Mo a star, despite having boring fight after boring fight after boring fight

Would've liked some Mark Coleman personally.

I wonder if they offered Cro Cop a bunch of money to do it, or can he still not get licensed here? He probably could beat most of these guys including current Fedor. I know last month he was saying he wanted his farewell (heh) fight to be a rematch with Fedor.
