I started Fallout New Vegas. I bought the two disc 360 version that comes in an Xbox One box though since it's all backwards compatible and stuff.

I didn't realize the DLC was all on the second disc and I needed to install it first. Ugh. I'm 13 hours in. I'm sure all the DLC will still be good because I have a long way to go. I don't think I missed out on anything.

Dead Money can be challenging but very fun. Honest Hearts is very scenic. Old World Blues is great. I wasn't a big fan of Lonesome Road.

You know. I remembered it taking a while when I was younger to get to Vegas. I feel like I got to Vegas in record time this play through but I look up and I've completed a ton of quests and I'm level 17. It doesn't feel like I've been playing that long though.

I always tell myself I'm going to be a scumbag but then I become a good guy. I usually play Elder Scrolls as a meathead with a two handed sword and I always play Fallout with a very very high speech and talk my way out of most things. I feel I didn't have that option as much in Fallout 4 as it seemed to be more action oriented, but with this I'm talking my way out of situations and getting what I want left and right without having to go on fetch quests. I may end up redoing the game as a complete degenerate later and use my skills to constantly lie. But I feel if I get in good with Caesars Legion it's going to be really hard to do anything else in the game.

I may have said it in a different thread but I let the Powder Gangers off the hook way back when I first played and got the ending cutscene telling me they were terrorizing the waste. I told myself not to do it in the future and what did I do? I let the Powder Gangers off the hook again........
I watched RAW. I thought it sucked. The usual problems and such.

You can always turn heel on them.

I'm playing Blast Corps again on the Xbox One. It was a Rare game released on the N64. It's fun using construction equipment to destroy buildings. I'm surprised no one has made anything similar to it. I wish the remnants of Rare would make a sequel.

Gaming Goal for the rest of 2018: Finally play all the way through FF6 since I might as well get some use out of this SNES Classic (to be fair, I've played it a LOT more than the NES Classic).  Then I'll move on to Mario RPG and Earthbound (of which I've played a few hours of) for 2019.

Fell back into Fallout New Vegas. I love that game so much. It might be one of my favorite games ever. Wish they'd remaster that.

Ditto. Also want a Fallout 3 remaster.

I've been digging more into Rare Replay and I started Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Not bad so far. I want another Banjo game too.

My girlfriend's brother in law has a RetroPie 4 loaded with a bunch of SNES/Genesis games. I've been giving some old favorites a try, including Super Smash TV and Comix Zone.

I forgot how punishing Comix Zone is. Depleting health for striking an enemy that's blocking? Oh, fuck youuuuu

I grabbed an Oculus Rift on Prime Day. Just showed up yesterday so I haven't a chance to really dig into it, but I downloaded Beat Sabre and it's amazingly fun and difficult. It's a rhythm game where you slash the beat with light sabers. YES YES YES.

Okay. By this time next week I will have beaten this play through of Fallout New Vegas. My next choices are:

-Skyrim (PS4)- haven't played this since 2011 and have never played any DLC

-Elder Scrolls Online (PS4)- the last expansion I played was Orsinium so it'll be like a brand new game

-God of War 4- my wife got it and beat it. I'm honestly not chomping at the bit to play it but I know it'll be awesome

-Darksiders I (PS4)- got this as a free PS Plus download and have never played it

-Darksiders II (Xbox One)-  same as above

-Witcher III- I've never played a witcher game and due to size I've been a little intimidated to start this one

-I haven't played an Assassin's Creed since AC III. My wife owns them all. I've considered getting into one of those.

My birthday is on Thursday. The only game I've actually asked for is the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

I watched RAW. I thought it sucked. The usual problems and such.

Skyrim or jump into ACIV which is a ton of fun, especially if you liked the ship battles in III and wanted to see them expanded. Witcher3 is a great game but if possible i'd play the second game first.

Is it possible to get it on PS4? If not I may just have to read the entire Wikipedia entry.

I remember Dragon Age Inquisition was the first one I played and Otaku had a serious backstory deal that taught me everything I need to know before Inquisition. Perhaps I can search for something like that for Witcher III.

Am I right in my thought that it is going to take a ton of time?

I've been juggling a bunch of game lately, so the odds I finish everything aren't super high. In addition to my regular Final Fantasy XIV and Dragonrealms playing I just finished Tales of Hearts R, just started Lucky's Tale, just started Bayonetta, re-started Fractured But Whole, just started Lost Sphear, and am a good ways through Super Hot VR. I've got a lot on my plate.

I never played these expansions so I feel like I'm running through a completely new game and it's awesome. I am doing Dead Money right now. I'm also like level 33 and feel unstoppable.

I've been playing AC Syndicate. Such a huuuuge improvement over Unity, which I couldn't even make myself finish. The grapple gun alone makes the game so much more fun.

I did finish Unity, which I don't think was the worst game of the series but only because AC1 was really kind of barebones.  Also, I only played it a couple of years after it came out so it was patched somewhat.  I understand the release version was very glitchy.  But yes, Syndicate was much better and one of the best ones.

As for me, the long awaited English patch for Ao no Kiseki finally came out.  It is probably my favourite current series, so I made sure to grab it.

The season pass for AC: Origins FINALLY went on sale so I'm going to dig into that DLC in the time before Fire Pro comes out.  I almost bought Andromeda again because it was like $8 on PSN this weekend, but all the patches in the world won't fix that game's awful writing and characters.

I can't remember if people hated Dead Money or not, and I think I kinda hate it, but it's one of the most satisfying DLCs when you finish it. First half is all kinds of bullshit, though.

Enjoying Syndicate a good deal although I'm taking my time with it. I think that overall the games peaked with the Ezio series of games (II, Brotherhood, Revelations) from a combo of storytelling and game playing. IV and Rogue were a great deal of fun to play but I don't think the stories were as compelling.

I actually prefer the stories of the Americas Trilogy, which are darker and more complex with the divide between Templar and Assassin being much less black and white than the previous games.  ACII, for example, is a pretty standard revenge plot.  ACIII acts like it is,
Spoiler: show
but going down that path ultimately ruins both Connor and his people and it turned out that it was George Washington instead of the Templars that ordered the destruction of his village that killed his mother anyway.
Haytham Kenway is probably my favourite character in the series.
Spoiler: show
He's certainly my favourite villain.

Black Flag is my personal favourite game in the series, although I haven't played Origins yet.  The games come out often enough that it is easy and considerably cheaper to stay a game behind.  The prices drop fast on AC games, and since they are largely single player games I have little incentive to get the new one at full price.

I can see that side of that. I think that time periods play a big part of it for me as I'm much more interested in the time period of the Ezio games and European history in general. The Americas Trilogy did actually help encourage me to get off my butt...and then back on it and start reading more about American history though so full credit there.

Black Flag has the most to offer as far as variety for sure. I agree with you about staying a game behind as well.

The open world aspect is done best in Black Flag and Rogue (the latter being essentially the same game as Black Flag except for story and setting).  The amount of exploration is unmatched in the series and just going around on your ship attacking and plundering other vessels is just a ton of fun.  I have heard criticism that Black Flag is a great pirate game, but a poor AC game.  I don't care about that though.

I do admit that I may have some bias towards the setting of ACIII and Rogue as they take place in my part of the world.

I'm having such a blast with New Vegas that I am sad to see it come to an end soon.  I've almost done just about everything I can think of in the game.

I didn't like how Fallout 4 was more action oriented and had more large dungeons. Having a high Charisma and speech was my favorite thing in Fallout New Vegas.

How does Fallout 3 hold up these days? I actually never beat it.

DLC too? Lonesome Road is one of my favorites. They did a good job with that (and Dead Money imo) in making it just satisfying to finish.

I ignore speech checks if I get too high. You can miss some really fun fights.

Fallout 3 on console is probably fine. PC version isn't optimized for Windows 8 and up, I think, but there's a patch.

If you liked the exploration in Black Flag then you'll probably really like Origins too.  There's very little ship exploration (obviously given the setting), but its a huge map with lots of cool places to explore and Bayek can climb pretty much every surface so climbing a sheer cliffside and panning the camera to show the vista is fun in and of itself.

The DLC is pretty good too.  The Hidden Ones is basically a new quest line in a small new area but The Curse of the Pharaohs is a whole lot meatier with some really cool twists to both the gameplay and the setting.  They really get the most out of ancient Egyptian culture and mythology.

Actually Lonesome Road is about all I have left. I read to do it after you beat the main game.

I actually didn't like Dead Money. I like to play Fallout as an RPG and avoid combat as much as possible. It really felt like a dungeon crawl to me which I didn't like. I did enjoy gambling in the casino.

I bought the GOTY Edition of Fallout 3.

Thirded. WM2K could go on continuously and gave such gems as Viscera holding the WWF championship and Mideon on an undefeated streak, not to mention random Iron Man matches between Billy Gunn and Ken Shamrock. It was very sports-centric in its presentation compared to the lamer story mode of No Mercy and, were it not for improved gameplay and graphics, would be held in a higher regard than its sequel.

Destiny 2 has just enough content going for it that, since it's currently free for PS+, I can overlook the poorly written comedy that doesn't need to be there and super repetitive gameplay to just goof off and have fun with a couple friends. Glad I'm giving it a shot, even more glad I didn't pay for it.

I never finished LA Noire, so I'm going to do it. Also, there was an indie game called LISA released a few years ago that I'm trying to finish.

Castlevania Requiem has Symphony of the Night and Dracula X on it. I'm working my way through Symphony.

Tropico 4. Sometimes you just wanna laugh in the face of reality by being your own dictator.

Onrush is free on PS+ this month so I've been playing that.  I like the concept, but I just don't think it controls all that great.  It doesn't have that same feeling and tightness that games like Burnout and Forza Horizon have.  The game just feels like an inferior imitation with an e-sports hook that is kinda cool.

I owned the Tomb Raider remake that was released a few years ago and I played it for 30 minutes after buying it and it stayed in the backlog. I picked it up yesterday and I really like it. It reminds me a lot of Uncharted.

With my new tablet I've gotten back into Hearthstone.  I forgot how fun that game is.  I actually won a few matches, too.
