In the sober light of day Stephens was on his way to winning before that perfect body shot. Fun show and a trillion times better than 149.

So, to recap going into this fight we have Eddie Alvarez doing the following....

- Calling Poirier a quitter for getting blasted with grounded knees that he in all likelihood threw intentionally
- Grabbing the fence during the guillotine choke
- Grabbing the fence while in mount
- Putting his fingers inside Dustin's ear
- Throws illegal elbow, 100% intentional

Then he gets absolutely smoked. That might have been the most satisfying beatdown I've seen ever. Go back to Philly and drop Mark Henry off in Jersey on the way there you fucking mook. You're never sniffing a title shot ever again.

Assuming this is true it's fair to say that this is likely the doctor that Kevin Randleman was talking about when he referred to being molested when he was younger.

Sounds like Andrea Lee got beaten down by her Nazi husband whom she recently went out of her way to defend and justify him having Nazi tats. She's probably regretting it now.

Thats a shame. I've always liked Dunham, he always brought the fight. I didn't realize he's already 36 (turning 37 this year). Looking at his record, I thought he won more of his fights than he did (11-7 in the UFC, but losses to every big name he fought outside of a 2015 Joe Lauzon decision).

I do remember he lost splits to Sherk and RDS that could have (or should have in the Sherk case) gone the other way, though.

RIZIN announced that the main event of it's next card will be Kyoji Horiguchi vs Tenshin in a kickboxing fight. That's fucking wild. Diego Brandao vs Daron Cruickshank on that card too and MIRKOOOOOOOOOO CRO-COPUHHHHHHHHHH returning too.

Vick looked shell shocked after that knockout. Great win for Justin. Felder was saying that Vick was trying to take him down long after the fight when Garthue was going to check on him after. He was so far gone.

Overall this was a kickass night of fights. Lot more good than bad.

yeah it's good for breaking news. It breaks news faster than the main site and it has been that way for years because the main site sucks at news updates. The forums do a good job of getting information from better sources.

The only true fighter that was successful who came up under Wink is Holm. Cerrone, Diego, GSP, Condit, Jones, Dodson.....all of them are Jackson dudes.

Also if what he said re: people coming in off the street and paying a fee to spar with seasoned pro's is true.....damn.

https://mmajunkie.com/2018/08/ufc-nick-diaz-domestic-assault-charges-dropped-las-vegas

Quote
After hearing the state wouldn’t move forward, Las Vegas Justice Court judge Amy Chelini dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning the charges can’t be refiled at a later date. (Read the court document here.) She didn’t fault the district attorney’s office and indicated the alleged victim’s story didn’t stand up in court.

“The frustrating thing for me is we have a lot of true victims out there and when you see stuff like this, and you take strained resources from the true victims, and it’s frustrating for the court,” Chelini said. “But you did the right thing. And it’s not you. I’m more upset with people calling 9-1-1 because they’re pissed off.”

coming from a presiding judge, those are strong words.

I don’t even know about A- wins.

His Strikeforce wins were a broken down Frank Shamrock, lightweight KJ Noons way out of his weight class, Scott Smith who’s just target practice for decent fighters, 50/50 Cyborg... and then that great slugfest against Daley.

One win since returning to the ufc. And that’s against Penn who’s record at welterweight is awful.

I like watching Diaz fight. He’s a name. Not a contender.

Gomi when Fireball Kid was probably top five LW in the world at the time is more or less the one I'm referring to.

But top level fighters don't lose to Joe fucking Riggs. They just don't.

Being the only guy to KO Robbie before his chin cracked is a legendary accomplishment. Being the only guy to KO Paul Daley is another legit accomplishment. SMFH FUCKIN HATERS

The Condit loss was a nothing fight, the Silva fight was more of the same. GSP legit dominated him points-wise, but it didn't feel like a beatdown. Compare that to GSP's decision wins over Fitch or Koscheck the second time.

Nick Diaz could beat Darren Till if Till engaged with him. If he stepped in and out with the Condit strategy of keeping him at distance to avoid a real war, then Till would win a boring decision. If he engaged with him though, Diaz would KO that chin due to the drain of the weight cut, BELIEVE THAT

The Gomi and Lawler wins were gangster as hell. But other than Daley (who’s never quite been a top guy) what’s his last big win in the last dozen years or so? In a fight career that’s pushing 40 fights how many of his wins are real big ones?

I love watching Nick fight, he's been in some great scraps. The Daley fight in particular might be the best under-one-round fight in mma history. He's just not a top guy.

He's not a GOAT-level fighter like GSP or Silva. But he's arguably in the tier below that, along with guys like Lawler, Hendricks, etc.

Yeah, the B level tier. He's probably at the top of that tier but he's definitely not a GOAT-level guy. Nate is clearly the more talented of the two and has way more top wins at times when the guys he beat were relevant.

Hunt getting wobbled by a grazing temple shot was pretty concerning. Overall a meh card and it didn't help that the last two events were violence-fests. Jan Blachowicz looked great and should likely be in a #1 contender fight next but the fact that he lost to Patrick Cummins a year and a half ago is a hilarious and sad indictment of just how fucked up LHW is as a weight class.

Magomed Ankalaev is somebody I'm keeping an eye on, his debut was probably the most impressed I've ever been with a guy who went on to lose the fight as he almost racked up three 10-8 rounds in a row before getting caught with literally seconds left in the third round. I figured he'd look strong again and he did.
