I don't do the thoughts and prayers bit but if anybody here does Angela Mangna could probably use them, she's in a coma right now following spinal surgery.

Complications from spinal surgery, from what I've seen.

Oleinik/Reem was a fun round. Overeem absorbed bombs and rope-a-doped until it was time to blitz with knees. He looked tough and has dangerous striking as always, but anyone with half decent speed would’ve finished him. He wants Volkov again next. I don’t like his chances there.

The Reem's arguably the best offensive heavyweight fighter ever. 45 wins, 40 of them are finishes. Insane rate, still going well after his prime too.

Co-main was an excellent fight, Islam's foot sweep to mount was sick. Would love to see him vs Gillespie at some point in the future.

- Ray Borg got absolutely hosed by the judges and what was otherwise a very fun fight is completely tainted. 29-28 Kenney scorecards are bad but the judge who gave it to him 30-27 should be drawn and quartered. The judging in Holland/Meerschaert was also super sketchy too, thought Gerald won.

- Kevin Aguilar is a guy to watch out for, he's been given two really tough dudes in his first two UFC fights and hasn't shown his best yet.

- Yusuf/Moraes was a very cerebral fight but I liked it, was fun watching two dudes try and figure each other out.

- Jack Hermanson has all the talent in the world to become a top level guy, he should get a big step up next.

- Gaethje is life.

Told y'all.

I feel like if Donald makes Al worry about the takedown, the hands will drop for a head kick KO. If he doesn't, he could get outboxed but I think all his weapons will still be enough to keep Al guessing before getting a finish.

I would say Hernandez has faster hands and more power than Al, but Al's slicker with better reaction time. I think he moves his head better too, but he's still pretty hittable. If Donald's not over the hill which is possible, I think he should get the W.

Oh, and Donald starts off really slow, so Al has the chance to finish him early if he is really prepared and on point. But I wouldn't expect that, so you can see why I'm surprised to see Donald is the slight underdog.

Cowboy did a really good job of using high knees in close against Hernandez to stop his counters and the takedown, I imagine he'll try and do the same here. Even if Al does get the takedown I don't see him threatening enough to not make Cerrone attack off his back or try and get up.

Swanson/Burgos is going to be craaaaazy shit, almost guaranteed that it locks up FOTN. Can't wait to see out outrage online when Elias one-two's Brunson for a split decision and becomes a top ten MW.

The UFC will try to spin this into a positive.

He is a bad style matchup for Khabib.

I just saw that Jordan Johnson is going to be on the PFL this season. I'm surprised that the UFC cut him, he seemed like a legit talent. I think he's too small for 205, but he still might be talented enough to win the whole thing.

feel bad for Tony, he deserves a title fight and Cowboy is a dangerous guy to fight. I would still pick Tony but I could see him getting headkicked during one of his weird bobs and/or weaves.

I hope there is a rematch because Rose was absolutely dominating until she didn't let go on the Kimura. Still, Andrade is super scary and both of these fighters are much more likable than Joanna.

It sounds like Rose was contemplating retirement at the post fight presser. She seems like such a genuine person and her battles with depression and anxiety do sound relatable to my own. If she were to retire she has nothing to be ashamed of. As a selfish fight fan, I'd love for more Rose fights but if she finds happiness doing something else all the power to her.

Seriously contemplating a separate thread about how BJ has destroyed his legacy but will think on it.

Rough night for the OG crowd. Penn, Nog, Aldo and Anderson all lost and none of them looked remotely good in either of their fights. Aldo in particular was a huge disappointment, the way he fought Moicano and Stephens he seemed to have a renewed energy and last night he seemed completely disinterested in fighting.

This might sound dickish but I'm glad Rose lost and I kinda hope she retires. Her skill level as a fighter is unquestionable but I don't think she has the mindset or heart to make a go of this long term and I don't think that was ever her plan. I think she should get credit for stepping into a cage and fighting people for a living being that she struggles with mental illness and depression but I don't think it should give her a pass on the fact that she held up a division for 13 months when she was physically able to compete.

I look forward to Andrade defending, and losing to, Tatiana Suarez in her first title defense  :)

BJ is fighting his way to a .500 record. It’s hard to still consider some guys legends when you take an entire career into account.

I figured Anderson to be done for. Still held out hope for Aldo. His killer instinct was nowhere to be found.

Woodley's hand injury that caused him to drop out of the Lawler fight is worse than originally though. He apparently has chronic arthritis in it, some of it being severe.

There's no way to recover from that. I have chronic arthritis in my neck, I don't see how someone would punch people with that problem. It's not just his striking either, you can't wrestle when your hand has those problems, his grip strength is nothing at all in that case. He should fight out his contract to make money while getting taken down constantly and call it a career.

Elias Theodoru has been cut by the UFC and oh lawd the pearl clutching going on with the media is hilarious. Yes, I understand that he was on a four fight win streak prior to losing but the guy was consistently the worst fight of the night, his only finish was when his opponent broke his arm blocking a kick and he's made zero attempts to improve or evolve his style.

The comparisons being made to Fitch and Okami are so, so off.

I think the only unfortunate thing is that Elias acknowledged publicly after the Brunson fight that he needs to make a change and start being more aggressive and going for the finish but it seems it was too late. You have to figure a guy who fights the way he does, ranked or not was on thin ice with the company.
