94 HBK was an arrogant, athletic heel and midcard champion?

This and he was bumping like an awesome stooge. Also because '94 HBK is my personal favorite.

I didn't watch the show. Henry-Danieslon wasn't a cash in was it?
I watched RAW. I thought it sucked. The usual problems and such.

I'd like to see one day where a superstar gets a title match via a #1 contender match, wins. He still has the title and the case. Then he loses the title, but uses the case right away and wins it back. I think that might be an interesting use of it.

A friend and I were discussing something similar a couple days ago.  Let Dolph pull that off after next year's MitB PPV.  Dolph becomes #1 contender, then beats say, Orton at a PPV for the belt.  Next PPV, Orton squeaks out a win to get the title back, so Dolph immediately cashes in and wins the title back from Orton.  This must be followed by the victory headstand.

Dolph needs to wear a headset while he's doing headstands so we can hear him yelling about how great it is that he can do headstands.

Wow.....so nobody thought this show was fucking ridiculous? Even more than a few of those Raws around the walkout angle, etc?

Really, the only thing that was even good to me on this was Bryan/Henry in the cage. They may have made their case for slow building that final match between them for Mania.

The Hornswaggle shit in the battle royal was some of the worst shit I've seen all year. If they are going to have him win a battle royal, shouldnt it be more at the expense of a heatless comedy figure heel instead of a guy who they are trying to apparently push hard? I was completely at a loss at the booking of all of that shit.

Yeah it was bad. It was one of those things where you saw where it was all going once it came down to him and Sheamus and you were screaming inside of your soul for it not to be.

The women's mistetoe on a pole match was some hilarious ridiculousness though on the other side of the rest of the bad. It was maybe 45 seconds of nothing but the girls tripping over each other or apparently trying to pull each others legs out from under them.

Oh come on, it wasn't that bad. It was stupid as hell, sure, but it was fine for a goofy Foley-led "special" show. It makes sense for it to be Sheamus given the Irish connection and it really doesn't hurt him in the slightest. It was like the Beaker segment only more dumb, but it wasn't "worst of the anything."

A babyface badass character was outwitted by a midget to lose a battle royal.  Don't try to defend it.

I would tend to agree, however it probably will not be something that is brought up in the future and if it is - well, then Sheamus can kill mofos and that's that. It's not like this is going to be some big downfall for Sheamus as a badass face. A similar situation happened earlier this year, as ADR will go down in the history books as the guy that had to beat Santino to win the Rumble. I say "similar" because just like ADR/Santino, when this little battle royal came down to Sheamus and Hornswoggle, nobody was expecting Sheamus to win (now, if Sheamus was still a heel, then there might be a little problem).

I'm not sure that a smarmy heel quickly eliminating a comedy character who snuck back into the Rumble is comparable to a tough-guy babyface losing a battle royal to a midget wrestler, but ok.

It wasn't a real match and Sheamus didn't even try to fight Hornswaggle.  It was just a fun, one time thing for their holiday show.  Nobody will even remember it.

This and he was bumping like an awesome stooge. Also because '94 HBK is my personal favorite.

Wasn't 1994 the year where he only wrestled for three months and then spent the rest of the year as Diesel's manager and the colour commentator on RAW aside from a handful of tag matches with Diesel late in the year?

He was great in 1992-93, but he didn't really do too much in 1994 other than the ladder match and a nice Rumble appearance from what I remember.

He had a great match with Razor on Raw in 94. Also, the Kliq tag.

I was only comparing the two on the telegraphing of the obvious finish once it was made clear the final two were established.

"Nobody is even going to remember it" is kind of a big reason why so much of wrestling is retarded.  Let's just do the dumbest, most counter-productive stuff we can think of and then make-believe that our audience suffers severe collective amnesia!

HBK & Diesel weren't particularly accomodating to the Headshrinkers either.

Here's this weeks full set...with my thoughts as I read them presented in real time:

The show featured tables, ladders and chairs all around ringside.  At the open of the show, Cody Rhodes jumped Booker T as he came to ringside.  As Lilian Garcia went to open the show, Rhodes interrupted her and bullied her and told the crowd he was taking over as ring announcer.

It was the Beat the Clock show where the winner gets to pick the match he wants at the PPV.

Wade Barrett b Ezekiel Jackson

Beth Phoenix & Natalya b A.J. & Kaitlyn - Kaitlyn turned on A.J. and has joined Pin up Strong

Daniel Bryan did an interview and demaned Michael Cole come to the ring and face him as he was sick and tired of Cole.  Cole didn't come to the ring and Bryan went after him but was jumped from behind by Rhodes.

What a boob

Ted DiBiase b Jinder Mahal

Bet this sucked

Big Show and Mark Henry had an in-ring interview segment.  Henry said that he's taken over as the monster of the WWE and Show isn't the man anymore.  Show attacked Henry and the segment ended with Show grabbing a chair and laying out Henry with it.

Bad week to be Henry.  Facing Cena who took him out in one move this past Raw on the next Raw...things not looking up

Sheamus b David Otunga

Bet this sucked

Zack Ryder b Heath Slater

Cody Rhodes b Daniel Bryan via DQ when Booker T attacked Rhodes

Teddy Long was backstage with Aksana.  Rhodes interrupted and demanded a match with Booker and Long made it official that they would face for the IC title at the TLC PPV.

Randy Orton b Dolph Ziggler to get his win back.

Well...Ziggler lost again this week but he did beat Orton before so I guess it's...

Orton beat Ziggler in the fastest time on the show

Oh fuck you.  Without knowing who for sure was in the challenge...this show had matches lost by Ezekial Jackson, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, David Otunga and perennial push over Daniel Bryan who lost by a DQ.  Seriously...fuck you.

and Orton asked for a tables match against Barrett on the PPV.

The problem with "Pin Up Strong" or whatever they're calling them is they should be destroying every girl on the roster.  What face diva would you look at and think they have any chance against Beth or Nattie?

The idea had potential but I stopped caring as soon as they started losing matches to Kelly and Eve by fucking rollups and shit.  LayCool was booked stronger.

I like Kaitlyn in the group, but if they aren't murdering everybody what's the point?

Related, they need to restock the face side of the Diva roster.  When Kelly Kelly is the ace you know you've gone horribly off course.

It's weird, because LayCool showed that they actually are still capable of booking the Divas in interesting, engaging ways. It's like they just intentionally choose not to.

Half of LayCool was dating/married to the most respected guy on the roster. Half of the Divas of Doom is dating the guy that tweeted a pic of the WWE title belt in his refrigerator.

This should make some people happy...

From the observer site:

The A.J. & Kaitlyn vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya match where Kaitlyn turned on A.J. after she lost and joined the Pin Up Strong group was edited off the television show that just aired in Australia.  It's usually an identical show to what airs in the U.S. on Fridays.
