HOW DID WE NOT HAVE A THREAD FOR THIS MOVIE?!?!?!?!?!

Anyway, just watched it tonight and a great little popcorn fun movie.

Spoiler: show
I knew it was coming but they just had to kill the dog, Daisy, didn't they? :'( Also loved that Keanu double tapped everybody and made sure they were dead with head shots.

Keanu did almost all of his own stunts, too. The action scenes are probably the best shot in years for a major action flick and

I loved this movie. It was just a fun as hell flick. I loved how everyone was so afraid of him. The assassins hotel was a great idea.

Just watched this last night.  Enjoyed it, though I heard so much hype going in, I knew I was "too late to the game".

Curious where they go with the planned sequel.

I think it's going to be a prequel/origin story.  They're going to need to break out the makeup to de-age Keanu, although it helps that that guy seemingly doesn't age.

Not to mention that was some of Keanu's best acting since, well.... The Matrix.

Is it me or is the clean-up guy Charlie creepy as all get out?

He (possibly) cuts up and (definitely) disposes of dead bodies.  Unless your nickname is "The Wolf", I think the creepiness goes with the territory.

It's David Patrick Kelly. He's made a career out of looking like a low-life in action movies (The Warriors, Commando, The Crow, etc.).

I think the greatest thing about John Wick is the world it created. You get a sense for how it all works and quite a bit of the intricacies but you're never told outright what the rules are (besides "don't do business here/there").

My buddy is actually Keanu Reeves stunt double and he worked on John Wick 1 and 2.

John Wick 2 won't be a prequel, but will be a sequel taking place the day after the first one.

Just stunts, but he said Keanu is one of the coolest, most laid back people he has met in film.

Really? Huh, thought I read that it was going to be a prequel, with the third a pure sequel.

John Wick 2 won't be a prequel, but will be a sequel taking place the day after the first one.
Wait, how would that work?  At the end of the first movie John's had the living shit kicked out of him, then forcefully inserted back into him, and then kicked back out of him again.  (This isn't a spoiler, the very first scene is a flash-forward to him practically bleeding to death from seemingly dozens of different wounds.)  He shouldn't even be able to get out of bed for the next week, let alone get up to go kill a hundred more guys.  Of course it's an action movie and reality gets stretched, but the whole reason why John Wick was so cool in the first place was that it was much more grounded and tangibly realistic than your average shoot-em-up explosion-fest action flick.

It's entirely possible the first scene takes place the next day and the rest unfolds in the following days. It's also possible that he visited the doctor at the Continental again.

Yeah.. McShane brought an air of sophistication to the movie. After John went to go see him and after he told Miss Perkins she was done, I was liking his character a lot.

Too bad they offed Perkins... She could have been the Carrie Fisher to Keanu's Elwood Blues. Just her trying to do what Willem Dafoe was trying *not* to do throughout the first movie, no matter what Keanu was doing.

Aww shit, Fishburne is in the sequel? If he's playing a psychotic version of Morpheus, I am SO in.

Nice to see they have most of the same crew back as well.

"Chad Stahelski will once again return behind the camera to helm the next installment in John Wick's story. Additionally, his uncredited co-director from the original John Wick, David Leitch, has also opted to stay onboard as a producer for the upcoming sequel. In addition to Chad Stahelski's return as franchise director, John Wick: Chapter 2 has also brought screenwriter Derek Kolstad back to pen the film's script."

Re: The first one, even as a fan of violent movies I felt desensitized after seeing him kill like 60 people in a row in a nightclub. Shit was like watching a first person shooter, it's just like 'whatever' after a certain point. I still thought it was a cool movie but man, the violence felt monotonous after a while.

Both movies, unfortunately, blow their loads before the third act. With action movies, just like a wrestling match, I think it's best to save the craziest stuff for the end, by they both go nuts a little too early.

Still, if you enjoyed the first, the second is well worth the ticket price. I had a blast. Probably going to be in the running for my favorite of the year.

The body count is nuts, but after seeing Resident Evil last week that is just CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT to an insane degree, smooth flowing action scenes are a God send. Kill as many people as you want it actually flows. Didn't care for the ending but other wise I really liked chapter 2.
I want Jimmy Fallon to be dead. That doesn't make me a bad person.

I was late to the John Wick train, but did end up enjoying it.  I don't feel it is as memorable as something like The Raid or even Dredd (Raid remake, sort of?).  It felt like a lot of generic violence, which is ok, but growing up being educated by the action movies of the 80's it's sort of ruined me by what passes for action these days.  Whether it was Die Hard, Rambo, Hard Boiled etc etc....those movies just had the characters, iconic action sequences, catch phrases etc etc....that live in infamy and while I did enjoy John Wick I can also admit that a few weeks after seeing it I don't remember much of the details the way I do for movies mentioned above.  Maybe because I've watched those movies a hundred times or so....but I also WANTED TO watch those movies over and over.

With that said, I am still looking forward to John Wick 2, whenever it is that I see it.

God damn, this movie is fucking balls out awesome. A sequel that's better than the first one, and has some of the most satisfying action scenes I've seen since "Mad Max Fury Road" and "The Raid" movies.

9/10

Awesome, awesome movie. Basically took the plot of the first one, tweaked it slightly while developing a bit more backstory to the world/environment, and upped the fight scenes and the epicness of said fight scenes. Enjoyed it a ton and IMO better than the first one.

Also perfectly set up the 3rd movie at the end as well while being perfectly believable in the realm of what was going on and what had happened throughout the first two movies.

Spoiler: show
Bonus in that Wick kills two guys with a pencil, LOVED that.

Just watching the sequel now, as I recorded it off of HBO.

Maybe it is because I am watching it when it is a year old or because I am partially distracted but I am just not getting into it like I did the original.  My thing was the original seemed more gritty and unique.  This one seems way too polished to me, which was the appeal of the first one.  Probably just me though because it seems everyone else was hype on the new one but me.
