I heard of all those and the one PK alluded to from the couple spoilers I saw but somehow missed the Aries thing.

I've never really cared about Strong so I don't know how I feel on that one...  Then again, I used to love Aries and something just hasn't clicked with him in NXT for me.

I am very excited for the tandem of No Way Jose and Rich Swann

Tony Nese & Drew Gulak and SAnitY are the last few teams announced.  I forgot to add the Bollywood Boyz and a couple of obvious job teams (one has Tino Sabatelli from Breaking Ground) to round out the field.

Pretty much a given we'll get DIY/Revival in round 2 to set up another tag title match at Takeover.

TM61 isn't getting by Team Aries because they will likely do Aries vs Itami/Ibushi in semis

That's not Itami injuring his neck. That's a jacked up guy who obviously has no business being in the ring hurting Itami's neck.

You're right. I'll edit my post to better reflect that.

The way Roode left the tournament was entirely predictable, but it was still perfect.

SAnitY's introduction was pretty impressive.  Nikki Storm is channeling her inner Daffney and Eric Young is the perfect guy to lead these lunatics.

And Peyton Royce....god damn.

I'm catching up and just started the Dusty Classic beginning. I loved the crowd actually being excited for the Bollywood Boyz until the Authors of Pain intro hit and everyone suddenly realized what was about to happen.

Screw Roderick Strong, the debut I was most excited for tonight was TEAM HOSS.

Also, Nikki Cross is beating Asuka for the title.

The story I heard on Mickie was the original plan was to book Asuka vs. Trish figuring they could make Asuka a major heel by having her beat the shit out of Trish in Toronto.  Not sure how long the plans were rumored but Trish is pregnant again so they got Mickie.

Never got a real source on that, not sure turning her heel would work in NXT.  Main roster, sure.  NXT, they will probably cheer her more and with Bayley gone, I would think little girls may be buying Asuka masks.  Plus the face side is SUPER weak right now.  There's Ember Moon but then after that Liz Morgan.  I mean, so weak they got Aliyah as a face now, right?

The heels, like Peyton and Billie, have just been underutilized to date but are ready to go.

The post Survivor Series Smackdown will also have an NXT taping for those in attendance.

Also, live event did a couple Dusty Classic matches, including a singles match to decide a team advancing
Spoiler: show
Authors of Pain beat Swann/Jose but due to Aries' injury they let Thorne beat Strong in a singles match to advance TM-61.  I'm hoping Ciampa/Gargano get the tournament win at this point

Revival vs. DIY 2 out of 3 falls, Joe/Nakamura II,  Mickie James getting thrown into a train shaped like Asuka's foot.

Takeover looks like another winner.

Plus Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger & the finals of the Dusty Cup? Good card.

I can see the pre-show TV taping being something with Andrade vs. Cedric Alexander, another divas match (six woman with Ember Moon/Aliyah/Liv Morgan vs. Billie/Peyton/Mandy Rose?) and a tag match with Sanity.

Ah, so that's what it is.  Saw on one of the news sites that one of the shark cage toy sets had an ad about "See this on real life on NXT Takeover" but the toy is called "Crash Cage" which made me wonder what they were doing.

Has Ellering ever interfered in the AOP's matches? It seemed like he was always just a cheerleader for them. Doesn't make sense kayfabe wise.

Wondering if they had some other plan that got messed up either with the draft or injury and due to printing it on the toy box shoe-horned it in with the most logical way they could see fit.  I assumed when this came out the other day they would do something at the next Takeover but if they had to do it at this show, guess putting manager in the cage is the only thing that works.

Much love to Dusty but I think it'd be an absolute awesome heel move for the AoP to win the tourney and then completely disrespect/destroy the trophy ceremony.

I mean this is where we're at with them in the finals anyway, right?

Was anybody at NXT Boston?

No Way Jose & TM61 over Sanity in a six man tag was opener. Was originally supposed to be No Way Jose Vs a member of Sanity one on one but everyone kept interfering so Commisisoner Regal came out and made it a six man tag team match. I marked the fuck out for Regal.

Oney Lorcan beat Elias Samson. Before the match, The Drifter cut a promo and sang a bit of "Freebird". Oney got a nice pop due to being a local guy.

Nikki Cross went over Liv Morgan

Cedric Alexander defeated Roderick Strong in what was easily MOTN. PPV quality stuff.

Intermission. Afterward, Regal cut a quick promo thanking the fans and introduced our next match.

Asuka beat Peyton Royce and Ember Moon in a Triple Threat Match to retain NXT Women's Title.

Tye Dillinger defeated Bobby Roode in what I thought was kind of a mild upset. Tye's "10! 10! 10!" chant is super over but we all kind of wanted to hear "Glorious Domination" again.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Team DIY beat Samoa Joe & The Revival in main event when Nakamura hit Kinshasa on Dash (or was it Dawson). Solid match. I was super happy that Gargano and Ciampa did Nakamura's ropes lean pose.

I thought it was a decent show. Sadly, I think Agganis was way too big of an arena for them to run for a non-televised show. It was about 2x size of arena NXT ran in MA last time they were here in April. Plus it  only two and a half weeks after Hell in a Cell was here (and right before holidays). Arena was a third full at best.

It was alright. Asuka was definitely working at house show pace which is perfectly understandable and acceptable since it's three days before Takeover and you don't want to do anything dumb in front of 2000 people.  Mostly, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay working over the babyfaces. Moments where Ember Moon and Asuka faced off got a big reaction.

Surprisingly, I think 2nd best match of the night was Roode Vs Dillinger. It was probably a dress rehearsal for their Takeover match.

I really like how they're treating Dillinger - even in losses he comes out looking strong. That said, he needs to win his next feud something fierce.
