Good food items from places not known for that specific stuff.
« on: January 02, 2017, 02:50:49 PM »
So I started this thread because I've eaten out a lot (mostly junk) in the last few weeks due to all the time off from work for the holidays.

So one night we had del taco, and I didn't feel like cheap faux-Mexican so I gave their cheeseburger a shot and I was very surprised how good it was.  I never would have expected that.

Second was from long john silvers, ordered some type of combo that came with chicken and fish, and the fish predictably tasted like they took the worst leftover scraps of fish, threw it in a blender with filler, breaded it, and deep fried it, however the chicken planks (I believe plank is the term they use) were actually solid.  Very meaty, and the breading was not overly-thick like it is on the fish.

I can remember the time one of my friends ordered a Del Taco burger while we had the munchies... and had to deal with the whole car clowning on him since he's the one that said lets go to Del Taco.

Del Taco has surprisingly good breakfast too. Choose it over Taco Bell every time.

Applebees has a remarkably good French Onion soup. Just a bit too much cheese. In a blind taste test it'd probably fair well against some of the higher end non-chains around here.

This phrase doesn't make sense to me.  Does not compute.

If any of you have a D'Angelo's in your area (steak and cheese chain owned by the same restaurant group as Papa Gino's), they now have Burgers.  The catch is they top the burger....with steak and cheese!  Fucking incredible.
