Man, I thought it looked bad but I didn't realize it was going to be that bad.

I hope Fred Durst is still an unlockable character like last time.

The voice acting for the main characters is pretty good IMO but it does highlight the lack of polish on everything else.

I don't know why people are complaining about this. I saw this move in AEW last week.

This is the problem with the yearly model for some of these EA franchises. I imagine there was too much money to delay the game a year, but taking 2 year breaks between games would be great. The UFC don't release a game every year with EA. There's really not enough roster turnover anymore to justify WWE having a game every year.

2K took over the series, this is why it's in the sad shape it's in.

If there need$$$$ to be a yearly release, make it like the Call of Duty series where it switches developers every year.

Of note - in recent months Fire Pro has put out a STARDOM DLC:

..and an Entrance Craft DLC:

Love that they keep supporting this game with new content, even if it is paid. There is also still the last bit of the season pass to come, which is the third story mode written by SUDA51 - The Vanishing - which is apparently a years-later sequel to the story mode he wrote for Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special.

Sounds like a lot of people walked from Visual Concepts and the budget for WWE 2K21 has been slashed significantly because of poor sales. 2K21 is in danger of getting cancelled.

This is pretty cool - these dudes are doing a Twitter tourney for the next roster member. Fans were able to nominate indy wrestlers who aren't signed anywhere: https://www.retromaniawrestling.com/indiemania.html

First official entrant:

Also, apparently they got the rights to "WrestleFest" and this game is now the official sequel to the original arcade game.

..and if that weren't enough, they also got the rights to include characters from Techno's old Mat Mania/Exciting Hour wrestling arcade game:

I can fully see 2k not making a wrestling game next year unless they are contractually obligated to do one every year.

According to my podcast co-host, the only characters actually part of the videos that are in the game are Big Bartholomew, The Banker, and the Sea Creature.

Hard pass (and this was the only DLC I gave a fuck about when they announced DLC).

Fire Pro World's new story mode DLC (sequel to the story mode in SFPW Special, once again written by SUDA51) is out! It's free if you purchased the season pass.

..also this dude from Twitter has created a nice recap of the original story for those who've never experienced it:

Anthony Greene as well!

I love that were in a "new boom era" for independent wrestling videogames. 💕

I stumbled upon Anthony Greene, then a few other guys I am not too familiar with after I posted.  Looks like this company right now has been pushing a recently released game that looks like Quidditch from Harry Potter.

They also make Ark, which is pretty popular with streamers, and Citadel: Forged With Fire. They've been solid overall with their games but clearly favor RPG/survival themes so a wrestling game is a bit outside the wheelhouse.
