It's pretty shitty luck for Bellator that the McGregor saga broke this week because a lot more talk should be centered around Bendo's debut and what is in general a really fun card.

Andrei Koreshkov vs Ben Henderson- Welterweight Title
Patricio Pitbull vs Henry Corrales
Brennan Ward vs Cyborg Santos
Brent Primus vs Gleristone Santos
Michael Page vs Jeremie Holloway

Main event is quality stuff, really rooting for Bendo to become the first guy in MMA history to hold a belt with 3 major promotions. Pitbull always brings it and Ward vs Cyborg is gonna be some violent shit, his personality irks me but Ward has looked dynamite since dropping to 170. Primus is a legit LW prospect, ditto for Chris Honeycutt on the undercard.

Meh. I'm over him being protected. I'll care when he fights a decent grappler or wrestler.

He only has one more fight on his Bellator contract after this one, will be interesting to see what happens after that.

holy shit I didn't even see him applying that position, I thought they stopped it for a break because of the kick to the face but the ankle lock from that position bah gawd. Jimmy needs to 'see that again' too haha

I don't know how anyone can't see this guy's star potential. Say what you want about the comp, but most were decent fighters and finishing all but one in the first round is legit hype train material. That's not even getting into the SWAAAAG in how he does it.

Damn I'm hyped to see him fight a legit dogfighter who can grind out the victory in Gonzalez. Good test for him at this point in his career.

Getting tapped by Cyborg in 30 seconds with a heel hook, should just quit fighting at that point.

Benson Henderson is getting dominated by Koreshkov through 3.  Benson doesn't belong in this weight class.

Unanimous 50-45 scores.  The only surprise there was that no one scored it 50-44.  Henderson never looked like he had any chance to do anything.  I'm not sure if this is good for Bellator or terrible.

It makes them look more legit to have that happen to a former UFC champ. But the difference in size was obviously a big factor for a guy with Benson's style.

Bellator is probably really upset given they just spent a lot of money on somebody who got smashed. Can see Viacom reigning in the purse strings if something like that happens again. Obviously, Koreshkov is a top ten guy based on the manner in which he fought this one. He looked totally dominant and was never in any sort of trouble. Will be making sure to watch him again.

I keep hoping they'll do something with MVP. After ten fights you're no longer a prospect and should get a name. The way they were announcing his next fight I was thinking it was going to be something...but no, some guy on a winning streak, but hardly a name people will know. Same thing with Lashley. There's money to be made there, but he'll keep getting journeymen, kids, and prospects that aren't going to pan out and they'll ruin any chance of getting a nice drawing fight and keep him safe.

That submission was very nice.

And while I'm not shocked that Benson lost, I wasn't expecting Koreshkov to pitch a no-hitter. I was wondering if Ben was hoping that Koreshkov was going to tire out like Thatch did and swoop in late for a finish. Dude has a serious gas tank and was never in a moment of trouble.

MVP's contract is up after his next fight and the UFC is apparently very interested because of course they are. That's why they're slow rolling him.

It's going around that Aaron Pico knocked Thomson out and that's why Thomson dropped out. The hype behind Pico is getting super interesting.

"There’s no pride between wrestlers here and I’ll tell you why,” Davis said. “In Mo’s last fight in Bellator he got sky'd--not taken down, not tripped, no slip--but sky'd by his opponent. I’m talking about rooftop, over the shoulder and aired out by a guy from Britain. Listen, I don’t know if you know anything about wrestling in the U.K. but the conversation ends right there. All accolades are off the table. That was a rough moment. I’m sure he wishes he could redo that one.”

Oooooh Phil Davis I love it when you talk dirty.

I've always loved Phil Davis. Some might say his style is boring, but I think he just lost his confidence in the UFC. He had to fight smart against a murders row of strikers.

Michael Chandler vs Patricky Pitbull has been announced for the vacant LW belt.

They also stripped and released Vitaly Minakov which is no shocker. The guy seemed content to compete in Russia under banners that were being broadcast on UFC Fight Pass.

My buddy got a cable package that carries Spike so I'll be watching the Dynamite card tomorrow. Not the best show ever but it's almost a guarantee that Rampage will viciously KO Ishii and Mitrione will do the same against his guy whose name I won't even bother to try spelling. Chandler/Pitbull II should go to Mike but Patricky can crack so it'll be worth a watch.

I also hope Hisaki Kato knocks Joe Schilling out under kickboxing rules so I never have to hear him talk again. Talented fighter, ridiculous douche.
