All I know is, Chandler is going to run through Jansen and I rather see him fight Awad than Rickels.

Chandler's going to run through probably everyone en route to the UFC.

If he does keep running through everyone, he will never get to the UFC (ex: Eddie Alvarez).

Rickels with the best entrance in MMA since Te Huna's MIB dance.

Holy shit, I don't know what to make of that call...

Awad just got screwed out of $100,000 and a title shot.

He dropped like he was out, but for him to call it because he was lying down like that for awhile was dumb.

He got dropped, but he wasn't out. When on the ground, he put his hands behind his head like he was trying to get his senses back AFTER the round had ended.

Newton ran to the ring. He looks pumped. Based on their last fights I would pick Newton comfortably. European Jiu Jitsu champion? cool story bro. But I don't know nearly enough about these guys. Odds were essentially a pick 'em but I don't trust in Zayets to take this to the ground consistently.

Newton loves that overhand right.

His posture is weird, like he's almost turned all the way towards his right. He doesn't try to hurt you with the left hand, he looks like a TMA guy almost.

These guys are swinging for the fences, someone is probably going to get knocked out.

Maybe not, Newton is actively engaging with him on the ground. Looks like he could generate power with his GnP too.

That Awaad stoppage was baaaaad. Ref didn't even bother warning him or actually checking on him to see if he was ok.

Having said that partial blame should go to his corner for not rushing in to grab him and pick him up. Rich Franklin probably got saved from a between-rounds ref stoppage in the second fight against Anderson because Matt Hume hustled over and helped him to his feet.

Newton did the right thing when leaving Bodyshop... guys game has elevated in such a considerable amount since his time there. He'll always have a chance to end a fight whenever as the guy has an amazing amount of power in all of his strikes. If he ever gets his accuracy down he'll start knocking people out on a more consistent basis.

Tonights's main card....

Pat Curran vs Shalabat Shamulaev- FW Title
Mike Richman vs Frodo Khasbulaev- FW Tournament Finals
Doug Marshall vs Brett Cooper- MW Tournament Finals
Karo Parysian vs Rick Hawn

Top two fights have serious banger potential, all guys proven finishers. I hate Marshall but will root for him to win so he can get body-bagged by Shlemenko.

And, because we're all thinking it: poor Karo.

I saw a couple of Karo's fights after he left the UFC. He looked BAD. His reflexes look shot and he initiates the action at a pace that's slow as hell. It's surreal considering his style when he was in his prime.

I missed the opener but I heard he got rocked and finished and then protested the stoppage. That's like the worst of both Karo's (prime, and current day).

Surprised Marshall only has 23 fights, he seems like one of those really weathered veterans. I guess he was smart in picking his fights, seems like a dummy when he opens his mouth though. It's sad that the guy 10 years his junior comes across as a lot more mature.

lol Brett Cooper's boxing looks so rudimentary, but just by being patient and picking his shots he's outstriking the Rhino.

Marshall always had power, Cooper opened himself up going for the hook and Marshall just flatlined him while eating it. Cooper has no power or head movement though, I think Marshall is gonna lose against someone who actually knows how to strike, let alone someone like Shlemenko.

Gotta say, with all the shit that's coming out now involving the Eddie Alvarez contract dispute, Leonard Garcia and a "fake rep" talking about them, Bellator is not a good look for either Zuffa castoffs or guys looking to get there eventually.

Dave Jansen is hurt, David Rickels will now face Michael Chandler for the LW title. And probably die pretty badly.

With that said, there are now rumors floating around that Rampage has signed with Bellator.

Bellator will probably go bankrupt paying the amount of money Rampage would demand and they're dumb enough to do so, therefore I can totally buy that rumor.

Nah, this is a case where Spike TV is picking up the tab.  They view Rampage as a big star they can market their channel around (hence a reality show and TNA appearances being part of the deal).  Spike did a similar deal with Hogan and TNA where his contract is on the books with Spike and Hogan got some kind of a production deal for Bischoff-Hervey out of them as part of it.

It's time for promotions with any name value to do away with Brett Rogers. He's a proven non-winner in anything resembling an important fight.

In my honest opinion, Michael Chandler is the best fighter in the world not in the UFC. I believe he is the only fighter in Bellator history that can go to the UFC and win the title (this includes Lombard, Askren, Alvarez, anyone).
