This has been such a shitty card.

I liked it. Zero star power, despite Bellator pretending like Sokoudjou and Thompson matter in 2014. Lots of fast finishes. One sick KO and some good submissions.

That KO was fucking hilarious. I yelled out "Timberrrrr" on the replay.

Also James Thompson cut the best promo of 2014.

Outside of that KO and the brain-damaging hammer fists afterwards, this was such a sad show to watch.

A lot of people are speculating that Prindle threw the fight, but I don't know...the few punches he landed on the feet wobbled Thompson.

Yeah but Prindle isn't good. Neither is Thompson. I think that's the real story here. We should just be thankful it mercifully ended early in the first. Fifteen minutes of that would be horrific.

Rumours going 'round that Bellator signed Kimbo.

Kimbo/Thompson II. Get the fuck ready.

Well, he's already had one company sold out from under him for failing to succeed like the owners wanted. Seems like a good choice.

There have been rumours for months that Coker has been set to replace Bjorn, glad it happened.

He did a great job with Strikeforce, building it up locally while making smart moves to get people to take them seriously. I think he could have taken Strikeforce far if it wasn't sold out from under him. There's a really good series of articles on the history of Strikeforce, and by all accounts it seems like Scott is a sharp guy who really cares about the sport. I expect Bellator to do way better now.

Dana yesterday: "Scott and I are on good terms, I never really had any problems with the guy personally and wish him all the best."

Dana today: "Scott Coker, you're dead. This means war."

Sounds like what I've read about the conference call is that they're doing away with the tournament formats and scaling down the number of shows. I approve of both motions.

Paul Daley's US visa issues must be cleared up because Bellator re-signed him along with Melvin Manhoef.

It doesn't faze me one bit that people consider me the underdog going into this fight. It's understandable, but I don't give a f*ck. Friday night, we will see. We will see me at my all time best, when blast this kid the f*ck out of there.

Oh, and it's funny how these stories are getting out now. Yeah, it's true that I've subbed and KOed 2 heavyweight champs. Crazy really.

For real though this is an interesting read about being an old dawg in the evolution of the sport from his perspective, even if he's still kind of in BEST EVER mode.

Joey Beltran who is 3-6-1 since 2011 is your next challenger for the LHW belt.

Don't get me started. It's a Michigan show, so I can go to it. Looks like an even worse fight following a great card at Bellator 123

Stephan Bonnar out of retirement, fighting Tito sometime late 2014/early 2015. He asked for Dana's blessing to sign with Bellator and got it.

Bellator should have had MVP cut Lashley's promo for him.  The formula was cracked guys...don't overthink it.

I bet when Lashley told TNA he was going to fight for Bellator they were pumped since it was probably going to make Spike happy and they were working on a TV deal.  Now here they are with no long term deal and their champion could get humbled.

Luckily, the guy he's fighting has the skill level of a UFC fighter circa 1994.

Yeah. That was some unwatchable acting right there. Sour note on an otherwise solid card.

I was thinking about going to 124. But I cannot lay down money to see Joey Beltran fight for a title.

Lost a bit of respect for Brent Brookhouse when he said the Tito/Bonnar shit soured him to the point where he refused to watch the main event because of it. Like, really dude? You're going to deny yourself the chance to see a great, high-level fight because of some pro wrestling shit? Come on.

It was, if nothing else a serious reality check for all of the people who got excited about the Coker Era in Bellator. Should be pretty clear right now that he's not the one calling the shots, Spike/Viacom are and it's probably only going to get worse in terms of the WWE-ification of Bellator. Hopefully the fights can balance it all out.

Upon re-read I can see how it looks like that.

It's not hate, I just think it's a pretty childish stance from a professional writer to essentially not do your job (aka watch the fights) because you feel the need to throw a hissy fit due to a pro wrestling angle.

Brookhouse is usually very solid, I just can't believe he'd take that stance because he disagreed with a pro wrestling angle. He missed out on a great main event.

I can get why nobody watched the show last night, I do. But Liam McGeary pulled off a SOTYC with an inverted triangle from side mount and Emanuel Newton somehow managed to dead a second man with a spinning back fist. And watching those was fun.

Shlemenko is an exciting fighter but Coker and Co. have to be happy they have their own Chris Weidman to market.

Marcin Held is such a joy to watch, one of the best grapplers in the sport right now. Was hoping for dual Pitbull Brother champs but can't hate, the Pole was rocking it that night.

I'm telling you guys, Coker knows how to find and develop up and coming young talent. Some of these guys were around already, but don't be surprised if more gems start popping up in Bellator. They're planning on dialing back the frequency of the events too, and with the kind of talent they have, they'll be able to make p. stacked cards on a regular basis.

Perhaps more importantly than all that, he's a great accounts guy, aka he's great at managing talent and the business. The positive shift in attitude amongst the fighters after he was hired was universal. All the fighters love dealing with him. I'm more than 50% sure that if Coker was around when Melendez almost jumped ship to Bellator, they would have landed him.
