They re-signed Georgi Karakhanyan too who despite losing his last fight is a very solid 145'er and a great addition to the division.

With Viacom backing him, Coker could build a viable alternative to the UFC. He's smart, he knows how to develop talent and he's not Bjorn.

The same Viacom that encouraged and signed off on the Tito/Bonnar debacle? I have my doubts. Coker's hands are tied so long as Spike and Viacom are running the show, he'll be able to bring in good talent but creatively he's going to take a back seat to people who think that making Bellator more pro-wrestling like is the way to go.

I hate that Bellator is stacking their shows with old UFC guys. It really makes them look minor league.

The ref in the Emerson fight was shit. Kept standing the fighters up when shit was happening.

Royce Gracie has signed on with Bellator in an ambassador role. So that's a thing, I guess.

Bellator is all about "Hey, remember these guys?"

3 of the 4 fights on their last main card had UFC washouts. What irks me the most is Tito and Bonnar getting top billing on a card that has a title fight

I can't really fault them for that, there were plenty of people advocating that Cerrone/Alvarez or Poirier/McGregor should have been the main of the last UFC show and the fans leaving the arena in droves during the title fight probably furthered that theory.

I don't know much about the whole card, but Dantas/Warren is a legit great fight. I'll be watching that for sure.

Nah-Shon Burrell is no joke, so if Page is that much of a favourite while only having six fights he must have some serious hype and be a legit athlete. Nah-Shon Burrell won't be a world champion but he is a decent fighter. I'll watch that one too.

http://www.mmamania.com/2014/10/9/6952927/bellator-128-michael-page-wants-bigger-than-georges-st-pierre-finish-nah-shon-burrell-mma

Sounds like tonight will be a good test for this hype train.

haha Joe Warren rules, glad he won, especially as a 4-1 underdog. It certainly feels like there have been lots of upsets in main events this year.

While I wouldn't have picked Joe to win that one, I can't say that I'm surprised. Even the duller moments of that fight didn't suffer because it was an interesting fight. I was constantly interested in what was going to happen next.

And I'm always happy to see bubba mcdaniels get schooled.

You thought Dantas should have won the fight? Or are you talking about a different fight? I had Warren winning 3-2, and a lot of online sites had the same.

I didn't see the Dantas fight but most scores I read were in favor of Warren though some were arguing he should have lost a point because of a soccer kick in the 5th?

But yeah, my comments were in regards to his other fights. The Georgi and Pitbull fights were extremely controversial and the Galvao fight was one of the most blatant robberies I've ever seen.

I'm not saying it'll be perfect but I think Bellator in the long run will end up in a lot better place.

Yeah you're fuckin' right they'll be in a better place, they'll be under the Zuffa umbrella by 2017. Scott Coker is a pussy, he's already letting MORONS like Tito run all over him and turn his show into a fuckin' WWF Summersault or whatever the fuck they call that shit. I don't know I don't work in a fake business, the UFC is AS REAL AS IT GETS

Call me when they're worth 3 billion like we are, okay, and they're fuckin makin millionaires. You know how many millionaires Bellator has made? FUckin' zero but that last 8k to win cheque I gave Akira Corrassani just made him our 312th millionaire. Haha yeah I'm real scared of Bellator you fuckin' dummy  8)

The gong show between James Thompson and Houston Alexander was the only reason to tune in and Jamesy is hurt. Paul Bradley vs Josh Neer is one of the sadder Bellator main events in recent history.

Newton is one of those guys who don't seem that impressive overall but always find a way to win. Gotta respect that.

Also ouch on Rick Hawn losing to Rickels. It wasn't too long ago that people were talking about him being a guy who could make waves in the UFC.

Hawn lost to Jansen, who I think has real potential if he can stay healthy. Regarding Rickels, thoug , they put him on after the ME. He's the hometown boy and folks would leave after his fight the last two times Bellstor came to town. He's the one that's advertised locally, and really the only guy who 80% of the crowd cares about. I have a feeling this was the last trip to Kansas for Spikeforce.

Bellator played Wandy hard here. They knew there was no way in hell UFC would allow it and took the free promotion he gave them.

While not all that relevant, this will be a fun show.

Chandler/Brooks 2, Tito/Bonnar, Nam Phan/Richman, Melvin/JOE SCHILLING MMA, and a King Mo squash? Awesome time.

I don't understand the logic behind Bellator bringing in Manhoef, granting him a title shot and then putting him up against a guy who can knock him the fuck out.

Also holy shamoly Mike Richman is going to do terrible things to Nam Phan's face.

Tito is a favourite in the books but the pros picked Bonnar at 2-1, and I'm p. sure some of the guys that picked Tito have trained with him:

http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/Pros-Pick-Ortiz-vs-Bonnar-77141

I'm siding with the books here. If 2009 Mark Coleman could do it against a more prime roided-up Bonnar, then Tito should too unless he's 100% cooked, or Bonnar's pressure is enough to make him wilt and forget about the takedown. Tito has always been known as a guy who doesn't like to get hit in the face, but I say he should still be able to drag this one to the mat on a regular basis. At least I hope he will.

The "main event" was fun without being a great fight. Tito moving in slow motion vs Bonnar swinging from a mile away and sloshing around like a drunkard.

I LOL'd at the graphic boasting that Stephan has fought six world champions and posted their combined records. Rather than his 0-7 record against those guys.

I'm glad it's over and we're done with Bellator promoting this like it was some big blood feud fight that we were all dying to see.

Brooks looked solid tonight. Weird finish. I though Michael was quitting. But instead he was just loopy.

Mo vs another  tomato can. Keep it consistent, Bellator.

Melvin's drop was great. I loved that they promoted the kickboxing record first so that they could justify giving a guy with a 1-2 record that fight.

Didn't see it here or in the Upcoming Fights thread but Bellator earlier this week announced their February card which has a UK vs USA theme.

Paul Daley vs Douglas Lima
Liam McGeary vs Emanuel Newton
Linton Vassel vs Sokodjou
James Thompson vs Bobby Lashley.

Bottom two fights aren't anything to write home about but Daley vs Lima is fire and McGeary has looked like a beast so far in his Bellator run, should be a good challenge for Newton.
