The best part was when they gave him his money.

say what you will about the comp, but he passes the eyeball test to me. Apparently Cyborg is in surgery right now to fix the damage.

MVP nearly killed him. His skull was fractured to the point where it pushed in on his brain, it was smashed in.

Cyborg is out of the hospital and being flown to the US where he'll undergo further surgery. Bellator has issued a statement that they will be taking care of all of his medical bills.

I'm not sure. Cyborg got knocked out less then two months ago, nor he or Mitrione should have been on this card.

And anybody shitting on Bellator to use this as an opportunity to up the UFC needs to remember Hector Lombard fighting Hendo after Neil Magny concussed him ten times over less then three months prior.

Yeah exactly, those guys shouldn't have been there in the first place. But after we saw the news stories about their medical shortcuts, not surprised.

I mean, I'm sure if somebody asked Coker and Co. could produce medical documentation showing that Cyborg and Meathead were cleared to fight. I just have zero faith that getting said documents drawn up didn't involve either bribery, incompetance or both.

I'd say worse, easily. I'm not giving UFC a pass on the Lombard thing but Bellator has been booking guys into fights after getting bludgeoned. The Mitrione thing was especially bad because Big John totally went into business for himself that night AND there was no medical suspension.

I fully believe Big John gave Mitrione an opportunity to recover when he was clearly done because it was his Bellator debut and the brass wanted him to win. He's stopped fights for way less.

I don't have cable but I might go out of my way to check out tonights card solely for Darrion Caldwell. One of the top prosepcts in all of mma right now and the way he's been handling top-level wrestlers is very impressive.

Oh and for those wondering if Melvin Guillard made weight for the co-main against David Rickels...........he did not.

"eagerly awaiting" Dana to passive-aggressively trash him as a wannabe who wasn't cut out for UFC.

He should probably get a title shot right off the bat but they might be leery after what happened with Bendo. I'd say he fights Lima or Daley.

Their WW division is fairly shallow. I don't know why they'd match up two of their more viable title contenders and have one guy kill the other off.

Bellator seems interested in the short term. They're looking for big money fights to pop buyrates/ratings. I'd pair Koreshkov with Rory for the title, he's earned that and he has the credibility. Plus you want the guy that beat the UFC champ to get a crack. Jimmy Smith breaking down how bad Rory broke down Woodley would resonate with viewers, mimicking the combinations, talking about how Woodley had no answer. Smith also could use this to boost his own profile, very underrated MMA analyst/on-screen guy.

MVP should get 2-3 more fights with guys like Fernando Gonzales, Lima and Brennan Ward before he starts facing the Rory's of the world.

MVP has had 11 pro fights. He should have been in bigger fights already. Bellator is going to waste this guy on journeymen beatings and lose him before a payday fight.

11 pro fights is not enough for Rory when almost all of them were against jobbers. Lima, Gonzalez and Ward would be good tests. I personally don't think that fight sells that well now because he's so unproven. Based on how his ground game looked in his last fight, Rory might stop that hype train dead before it can really pick up steam.

Don't get me wrong, they should definitely extend his contract before his next fight. But I think he does like it in Bellator so I feel like he'll stay.

Man you know what would be a great fight and a good test and also something you could really sell? Put MVP in there with Koscheck.

I dunno about that. Koscheck has lost five in a row. Daley could drop another 3 and it still wouldn't matter much.

Bendo is done.

Yeah. Chandler kills a 2016 Bendo. He wasn't looking good at all before giving Pitbull the brutal tko. Lost the first round IMO. Ben's first ko\tko since WEC 40 in 2009

They was a wet fart of an ending.

And kudos to MVP for finding a "funny" way to remind us that his last opponent was brutally injured.

PS. Sounds like Pitbull broke his damn shin.

He can probably win the title at MW unless Rory chooses to fight there. McGeary triangles him inside of two rounds. Those are my inital thoughts on this matter.
