RIZIN is going down guys. We could see The Gooch vs Uncle Creepy if both guys get past their opponents.

I personally don't believe in the concept of curses. Having said that, if I did I would be absolutely be convinced that there are spirits at work to ruin that mans life.

I'm completely out of the loop on Japanese MMA, but Tsuyoshi Kohsaka fought for some reason on RIZIN and got destroyed by Cro Cop. Gomi also got choked out and is now 1-7 in his last 8 fights. It sounds like the show had a lot of great lighter weight fights, I just never heard of any of the fighters.

Kyoji Gucci Mane just murdered all of his opponents to win the GP. With each passing victory UFC are looking dumber and dumber for passing on him.

Obviously they want him back, but this is a PR move to show that they don't need him and will probably make him fight on their terms.

If Conor comes back Khabib is just gonna destroy his face and then he goes away again. I really don't care anymore. There is nothing he could do to stop that guy from putting him in whatever position he wanted and hitting him over and over again.

For the record I think Khabib beats Conor if they fought but I'll play Devil's Advocate just for fun:

Khabib is an incredibly reckless fighter standing, hands down, throws wild shots and closes the distance on fighters with his chin out. Somebody who has Conor's power and timing especially on the backstep can absolutely KO him.

-Gregor Gillespie is the dark horse contender at 155 right now. One of the best ground games in the weight class if not the entire promotion and I liked his "Man of the people" speech afterwards. Keeping lining them up and he's going to keep knocking them down.

- Bermudez and Kish both got screwed over pretty bad, Justine especially. The judge who scored that fight 30-27 Kim can eat it.

- Mirsad making Pepey have chest convulsions =  8)

- That's the book Brunson ever coming close to contention being written. Doesn't have the chin to take big shots or the discipline to not get wild in exchanges.

I thought Camacho won his fight as well but it was a pretty close fight.  30-27 was kind of nutty, though.

I can't remember if they were using the new rules last night, if so I'm more inclined to see a Dober win based on the ineffective takedowns and lopsided R2. If it's still the old rules then a Camacho win is ok with me, it was a pretty close fight. I also thought Silva beat Pichel, judging was pretty shitty all around for the card.

Everyone in the Long Island mma scene has known for years that Gregor is the most dangerous/too fighter on Long Island, including Weidman.

I watched the fights at a bar on mute - was the knee that Dennis hit really low? The red called for a break but it looked like a clean knee to me.

I didn't like the inconsistencies in the judging. Both Camacho and Fili hit takedowns that lead to nowhere on their opponents but Fili won his fight despite being handily outstruck.

Thing about the Camacho fight was that I thought he hung with Dober in strikes in the 1st (he even rocked Dober at the end of the round) and 3rd and only clearly lost the 2nd, so the takedowns, despite not "leading anywhere" were still important in the sense of it being a close fight.

But the time on the ground was nil with I think one submission attempt that was half-assed at best so I'm not sure how much they should have factored into the scoring. And I also thought Camacho won the fight but recognize the minimal role the takedowns played.

That fight was uncomfortable to watch. I know that it's popular to shit on Mario but that girls corner and the UFC need to have their feet held to the fire too.

Thiago Santos is such a wonderfully violent man. Kill or be killed at all times.

Conor just broke A UFC record once held by Anthony Pettis. The record was 462 days between Pettis winning a UFC title before defending it. Conor also holds the 6th spot on the same list with 350 days without a defense of the featherweight title.

Definitely one to keep an eye on. Alves might be shopworn but he's still a tough out and putting him away like that is impressive.

Also, I stand by my comment about Lewis being the best bad fighter in the UFC. He's lucky those back spasms got him out of the Werdum fight.

the guy who cleans up toilets at the local firehouse is the world champ and potentially the greatest heavyweight ever, MMA is like mid-90s WWE in that regard.

The only thing with having the pro football player gimmick, his chin might be torn to shreds already. That has been the case with many former football players, so I might have to walk back that world champ line. But if his chin isn't garbage then yeah, he'll do it.

We just have to be careful with him.  People were ready to put the belt on Ngannou before they even stepped into the cage and we saw how that worked out.  And the guy who tweeted that video is a big Cowboys fan so anything to wipe the smarm off his face is fine with me.

The part that impressed me was that he was consistently timing Thiago and jabbing or hitting him with a straight right every time Thiago would throw a leg kick. Most fighters don't have the capacity to do that.

As for Lewis, yeah, that's true, but he does have a few attributes that separate him from the pack. There's obviously the power, but most fighters who wind up in the positions he does for the amount of time he winds up in them usually just give up. His ability to throw fat boys off him is genuinely impressive. If he dropped 20 pounds and joined up with a better trainer he could be the champion.

Black Beast has underrated BJJ defense but let’s guys take him down without a fight. But he’s got power in his hands and times himself well so he doesn’t completely gas out. One of my favorites to watch.
