Lewis came into this fight with a torn MCL and ACL which is why his coaches were so desperate that he get the finish in round two, they knew his knee was going to give out. I'm totally ok with him taking a solid 9 months to a year off from the sport to get his body together, between that and his back issues it sounds like he's constantly in pain.

It speaks to Masvidal's OG rep that leading into the fight this weekend we've heard a substantial level of decline in the amount of shit talking Darren Till would usually throw around. He knows who he's fighting.

Quote
On Feb. 19, police conducted a welfare check on Tony Ferguson after he made unknown threats, and his wife and son left their house, according to a separate police report. Police spoke to an unidentified female who stated Tony Ferguson had “not slept for three days and was tearing apart the home” and “broke apart the fire place and believed someone placed a (computer) chip in his leg.” An unidentified male who’d called the police said the fighter had told him “someone was inside his walls.” Nearly two hours after the police made contact, Cristina Ferguson told police her husband’s trainer couldn’t get him to leave the house to see a doctor.

Just three days earlier, on Feb. 16, Cristina Ferguson called police from a nearby park after leaving their home. She said that, while Tony Ferguson hadn’t been violent to her or anyone else, she was concerned for her husband’s well being. In police comments on the incident report, she reported that “he kept throwing ‘holy water’ at her,” and his condition – redacted in the report – had been getting worse. He’d also refused to go to a hospital for an evaluation.

Eddie Bravo's retarded conspiracies rot another fighters mind.

Also, I know someone who had a breakdown and said all the same kind of stuff Tony was saying. People are saying it isn't normal to get mental illness but his age but that happens frequently. I have absolutely no doubt that his wife is telling the truth because what she said, you can only tell people about that if you've actually heard it.

Well he takes a lot of shots to the head so the whole mental illness at that age thing is a bit different than the average person without knowing his family history about it. With going through seeing someone fall apart mentally recently I would think drugs like meth but Tony has always been adamant about being sober since he gave up drinking when he was younger.

It's really reminding me of the mental breakdown Rampage had a decade ago just by the ways their mental states were described at the time.

That fight was wild, and seeing Masvidal win like that on that stage, against that level of opponent was very satisfying. He's a true OG fighter.

The judges were smoking with some of hem giving the nod to Gunnar and to Reyes.

Masvidal looked so awesome. Him vs Edwards now makes a lot of sense. Needs to be on the big card.

I remember saying four years ago that Gunnar was too small for 170 and it showed again. If he can't take his opponent down then he really struggles.

I'm a Reyes fan so maybe I'm biased but I think that fight was closer then people are making it out to be. Volkan's two takedowns in the first lead to nothing and Dom got right back up from them and his striking was on point, he definitely lost the second round and the third was close. Not a robbery by any means.

Nathaniel Wood and Petr Yan are the future at bantamweight, keep those dudes as far away from each other as possible until it's absolutely necessary.

I think in the near future we're going to see somebody either get kicked out or be asked to leave ATT. Between Woodley, Ponzi, Covington and Masvidal along with Askren cross-training there it's going to be a logjam at 170.

I think you put Reyes against the winner of Smith vs Gustafson and Johnny Walker against Volkan or the loser of that fight. Those are the only two guys at LHW that are left for Jones so of course knowing the UFC they'll do Walker vs Reyes next and kill off a contender.

So would Walker and Reyes, IMO.  Walker should fight him next with Reyes getting Gus/Smith winner.

In all fairness to him, he has won three in a row (two against ranked competitors) and the Shogun loss was three years go.  As Dan mentioned, Anderson against Walker or Reyes would be a sensible match up.

TJ Dillashaw was flagged by USADA for an 'adverse finding' in his system and has voluntarily given up his belt. This stems from a post-fight test after he lost to Cejudo in Brooklyn in January.

My initial thoughts is that he knows exactly what he popped for and it was something that was going to lead to a suspension so he gave up the belt to save face.

Looking at just the transformation of the shape of his skull from when he was on TUF to now.....yeah....I can see it.

Can't wait for the press release from Cody talking about how he was right about TJ being the roid connect at Alpha Male.

Edit: Ariel just tweeted that TJ has been suspended a year by the NYSAC and an announcement will be made shortly.

He’s willingly given up the title. He’s been one of my favorites lately. Damn shame that he felt like he had to resort to this stuff. No denial from TJ yet.

At least the 125 champ won’t be held up waiting on a TJ fight

I spent 5 mins yesterday very confused and concerned when I saw sixty year old Dan Severn was facing Frank Mir in a "shoot fight rules, submission or KO to win" match at Josh Barnett's show. Given the poster, I honestly didn't realize it was faux MMA.

A few years ago a Wonderboy vs Pettis fight would have had it's own thread and lots of buzz but the reason why nobody cares about it is pretty justified. Really high stinker potential though with Woodley losing the belt and holding a win over Masvidal (and a dominant one at that) I guess Thompson is possibly a contender again?

It's happening tomorrow night so yes you definitely missed the announcement.

Pettis can win because Wonderboy did nothing in the rematch with Woodley and the Till fight. He looked good against Masvidal but outside of that his in-cage work has been bland and predictable in contrast to the guy who wasted Hendricks and Ellenberger.

Thompson's been held back by his dad long enough and he never evolved the way people thought he would. His chin looks done too considering he keeps getting dropped in worse ways in 5 of his 6 last fights.

I'm a fan of WW being a mess right now. It feels fresh compared to the staleness of Woodley's reign.

Masvidal is the real winner of the main event, with Thompson losing it pushes his loss to him into the background.

Also I'm not saying this just cause I think she's cute as hell but Randa Markos going 4-1 in her TUF Revenge Tour is a great little storyline. She's so flaky inside the cage though. I know that judging played a factor but to think she has wins over Torres, Esparza, Herrig and Hill is kinda wild given who she's lost to.

Both dudes made weight, shit is on.

Also Ray Borg missed weight for BANTAMWEIGHT. I know the dude has had personal issues and he seems like a nice guy but this has become too much of a pattern. He's pulled out of multiple fights for weight related illness and this will be his third time at a catchweight. Cut him if he loses.

- Ray Borg got absolutely hosed by the judges and what was otherwise a very fun fight is completely tainted. 29-28 Kenney scorecards are bad but the judge who gave it to him 30-27 should be drawn and quartered. The judging in Holland/Meerschaert was also super sketchy too, thought Gerald won.

- Kevin Aguilar is a guy to watch out for, he's been given two really tough dudes in his first two UFC fights and hasn't shown his best yet.

- Yusuf/Moraes was a very cerebral fight but I liked it, was fun watching two dudes try and figure each other out.

- Jack Hermanson has all the talent in the world to become a top level guy, he should get a big step up next.

- Gaethje is life.
