The best part of this was DC not having a good pulse of the crowd hating on TJ. Great win by Dilllashaw!

TJ comes back from certain death at the end of round #1 to win with a KO of his own. Wow. Ludwig a bit classless after the fight though. Dude STFU and GTFO out of the cage.

The Cody-Cruz-TJ triangle is certainly a good story and situation to get a lot of good fights out of.

If TJ indeed fights Mighty Mouse next, I could see them doing a Cody vs. Cruz rematch for title fight rights?

GSP still looked like a good fighter, but not the same guy, and he was fortunate to be fighting Bisping. But ypov was right about all the ways Bisping could lose. He was at a talent deficiency.

Awesome night of fights. I think anyone in the top 5 would have crushed either guy tonight in the main event.

Team alpha male always comes off like a tool factory when they start bitching about TJ. So I was most happy with that result.

Woodley is angling for the GSP fight on the post fight show. Dude really needs a big name to sell one of his fights after coming off maybe the two worse ww titles fights back to back.

Seeing GSP in there tonight makes me wish even more he had moved up in his prime to fight Silva. Or at least done the catch weight at 180lbs.  He didn't look like the same guy in there and it seems obvious he sort of cherry-picked the guy he felt was the weakest champ since the pre-Rich Franklin days of that weight division.

Don't diss Rich Franklin bro.

I can't believe a guy can be that big, and jump around like he does what a great athlete!

oh wait you mean pre-rich franklin, so you're dissing Dave Menne? Cuz prime Murilo Bustamente probably kicks Bisping's ass too.

Henderson and Anderson beat Bisping last year imo. This fight shouldn't have even been the title fight.

I think the hype behind a Bisping win was more people throwing shade at GSP moving up in weight after 4 years on the shelf more then praise for the champion. We aren't far removed from Bisping getting routed by Tim Kennedy and struggling badly with Thales Leites and CB Dolloway and like 909 mentioned the decisions in the Hendo and Silva fights are highly questionable.

I’m shocked that Rose put down Joanna Champion but I think it will leave everyone better off in the long run. Love her or hate her, Joanna carried herself like a star and was a good champion. This loss shakes things up, gives Rose some attention and will lead to a rematch that I think joanna will come into more focused and regain her belt. It also leaves the other contenders in a good spot since Karolina beat Rose not too long ago.

Unfortunately for Karolina despite her being the last person to beat Rose she's gone 1-2 since and a champion who's had the run JJ had pretty much guarantees an immediate rematch.

And even though I'm not shitting on Joanna for tapping to strikes like a lot of people are there's some pretty delicious irony in her blasting Rose for lack of mental toughness and quitting less then 2 minutes into what was supposedly going to be the easiest title defense she's ever had.

I agree with HSJ that Joanna takes the belt back in a rematch.  I Loved Dillashaw beating Garbrandt and yelling in his face even though that's not the type of thing I'll normally cheer for.

I think there's a few things that played into the anti-Dillashaw crowd though I could be reaching.....

- TJ looked like a serious douche in the season of TUF he was on and the UFC made sure the way the show was edited showed it then he got KO'd by Dodson in the finale
- The PPV that he beat Barao on did shit numbers and the rematch was on a Fox card that had nil marketing put behind it
- Cruz embarrassed him in the pre-fight banter going into their showdown

Entirely possible on all counts. Guess I was expecting a closer split considering Cody isn't exactly pristine himself.

Cody has a much more exciting fighting style and easier to market look compared to someone like TJ.

That snake in the grass stuff was very effective in making TJ a heel.

I also forgot most fans will only know Cody as what the marketing has shown of him. He's the guy who outright beat the old dominant force in the division for the title and celebrated that moment with a child who survived cancer. He's one of the few guys that didn't let Conor just shit on him verbally like most small guys do. Stuff like that goes a long way when you combine the snake in the grass stuff.

I saw it the exact opposite way. Seemed like Cody and the rest of his coaches wouldn’t shut up about TJ leaving the team. They came off like jilted lovers that couldn’t get over a break up. They’d just keep bringing it up over and over and over again. TJ came off way better on TUF for me.

He's talking about when he was a contestant on the Mayhem/Bisping season.

Ah. Yeah. Didn’t read it close enough.

But based on what I was saying I’m surprised that TJ was treated more as the bad guy in this fight.

Yep. That dude dodged anybody on that season that might have challenged him and they aired all the footage they could to hammer the point home.
