Why does the UFC have rankings when they give title shots to whomever they want?

I’m really only referencing the fact that Rory will be in it.

Yeah I know. My point is that mma orgs can do whatever the fuck they want.

Helwani is saying that Bellator has come to terms with Paul Daley and he's expected to face MVP in the opening round. Also per Brett Okamoto of ESPN Rory's belt will be on the line for this tournament so the winner either way will be the Bellator WW champ and all tournament fights will be five rounds.

I'm just going to shut the fuck up, then.  That is awesome.  You'd potentially have more than one title change in the one tourney.

Kinda surprised that MVP is finally getting a real fight. He’s been getting the prospect treatment for far too long.

As far as step ups go it's not the worst fight they could have made for him as far as the tournament goes. I don't think there's a high possibility that Daley tries to take it to the ground.

Paul Daley bitches more than anyone when someone tries to wrestle in his mma fights. I think he’ll stand and trade. MVP is a more dynamic striker, but Daley could sleep him badly with the right shot. Kinda want to see that.

If MVP fights long and keeps Daley at the end of his jab I think he can UD him, people who get caught by Daley only do so by allowing it to happen. He's got a nuke of a left hand but it's not like he achieves his knockouts by using top-level boxing.

I think MVP embarrasses Daley if it stays on the feet. This guy's ground game is mad suspect though.

I totally agree. I’m not rooting for it. But it’s how I see this going down. At least in the tournament format he’s going to get tested

Gallagher just made the wrong end of the bellator highlight reel tonight. Kinda always love seeing guys put on a big display before the fight get shut down.

Glad to see that the bum on the undercard that missed weight by 15lbs got finished.

That was such a satisfying beatdown. Gallagher is young and I think he'll be back but he needed to be sat down like that.

Darrion Caldwell is such a fucking beast. I'm glad that Bellator is finding homegrown talent to showcase but the selfish fan in me wants him to sign with the UFC. Having said that, him staying at 145 to fight Patricio Pitbull is a fight that given a good undercard I would absolutely pay money to watch.
