This card is unfortunately following 217 and 218 which were great shows so it's not getting a lot of love but the main event, Barboza/Khabib and Rivera/Linekar are all top level matchups plus Condit is going to violate Magny. Can't wait.

apparently not:

Barring a last-minute Christmas miracle, which appears extremely unlikely at this point, Jimmie Rivera won’t be fighting at UFC 219, I’m told. Stars couldn’t align as far as a replacement opponent is concerned.

Moraes looks pretty bad here IMO. Talked a lot of shit about wanting the fight and Rivera was willing to do it at 145 and he still turned it down.

Updated the card, Hooker/Bonecrusher on the main, Omari/Vettori to FS1 prelims. Poor Tim Elliot.

Between this and the revelations in the Trigg interview, Smolka is a serious alcoholic. Stop fighting and get help, bro.

Yeesh. Talking about having to chug four beers when USADA came calling just so he could take a piss......rough. Hope he's getting help and focused, wasn't too long ago that this guy was being looked as a future title contender.

Stinker card so far. Hopefully the last two fights can help turn the tide.

Yeah. The first three were bad. Khabib is laying an ever loving beating on poor Edson here.

I feel like Holm lacks a killer instinct in the Octagon.  No one will ever forget her head kick heard round the world against Rousey, but otherwise, she always looks like she is in there to have tough sparring matches.  She rocked Cyborg a couple times really well and didn't follow up.  It's painful to watch someone with so much technical skill and great footwork never just bear down and go for it.  And she says as much about her performances as well after every single fight, about letting opponents off the hook after connecting on very good strikes.

Nunes vs. Cyborg would be fun.  Nunes uses her length really well and has the one punch power to rock Cyborg, and if she does, I don't think she is sitting back and allowing her time to try and recover.  I'd still put Cyborg as the favorite, but Nunes is another killer in there at least.

I think Holm is a fighter who is very smart and capable of taking advantage of mistakes that her opponents make and the results can be quite violent but I agree that as far as killer instinct she doesn't really have it, mind you it's tough to posses that kind of mindset against a demon like Cyborg because all likelihood you're going to pay for it.

I'm probably one of the few people out there who'd advocate for Khabib taking another fight before taking on Tony or Conor, not going to dispute that he looked amazing but with his pull-out history I want to see some consistency before I give him a crack at the big one.

I don't know how you can risk booking a title fight with him until 2 straight.  That being said I'm still depressed over missing this fight at 209 so I'll just have to get my hopes up if its booked.
