Yeah, I'm going to that show, but I already saw a Swagger/Cesaro/RVD three-way at Extreme Rules 2014 so this holds little appeal to me.

After I made that post, I wondered if RVD and Swagger had a match during RVD's crappy 2013-14 comeback and now I know!

Second match has an appearance from Adam Rose and the Exotic Express when he had the silly-ass sitar intro to his theme. Also "Zeb's Deportation List" which I think would be a little too edgy for today's WWE.

Went to NEW Redemption last night. I got there late because the four-level parking garage across the street was full and I had to find stret parking so I missed seeing my favorite interview babe Alicia Atout. Oh well :(

Opening match was a ladder match with a bunch of nobodies. Some fun spots but who cares about Hale Collins or "Man Scout" Jake Manning? This was followed by what can only be described as a divas match where Mae Young Classic participant Karen Q was defeated by someone named Katie Forbes who wrestles with her ass hanging out and does the stinkface. Evolution was 12 days ago guys, do better.

Next was Jerry Lawler vs NEW mainstay "King" Brian Anthony. This was a lot more entertaining than I expected. The interference of King Brian's entourage was balanced out by DAVID ARQUETTE and Mick Foley. Lawler won with a fireball, then the three former world champions posed in the ring.

Some guy from Barstool came out and cut a promo on New York sports teams and then another guy beat him up. I went to the bathroom.

Big Bacon Brad (now the NEW champion) faced PCO. I had not actually seen PCO work under this new gimmick yet so I was impressed so see him do the Daniel Bryan dive through the ropes, then a moonsault, then he did the Jeff Hardy apron bump from Summerslam which looked absolutely brutal. Big Bacon Brad then finished him with a pop-up powerbomb to massive boos from the crowd who didn't want the match to be over so quickly.

Penta vs Darby Allin was next. I wasn't really familiar with Darby but he held his own with Penta who is on the next level. Penta won of course. ****+ and unfortunately nobody has posted the match on Youtube but if they did I'd link to it because everyone should see it.

Then came RVD vs Jack Swagger. This fucccckin suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked and I don't ever want to see RVD again. Dude stalled like a stoned Larry Zbyszko and they probably did five minutes of actual wrestling in their 15-minute match.

Kenny vs Fenix was close to ***** and the best match I've ever seen live. Kenny sure can be carried to a great match by the right worker!

Check this out while it's still up.

This made me laugh. I love when indies through out matches like that as an OPENER.

To be fair though, Money in the Bank has opened up at least one WrestleMania.

I honestly like recent indy trend of putting the 2nd or 3rd biggest match of the night as opener but that might not be here nor there.

Add Marko Stunt to the injured list. Broke his fibula last night taking a Canadian Destroyer.

Gotta slow down, guys.

How the hell do you break a leg taking that move?  Neck or upper body I understand, but the legs are completely out of the way.

I probably should have specified that he took the move outside the ring, through a table, and his leg hit another table on the way down.

I went to a local show last night and got to see Frankie Kazarian wrestle. I talked to him for a few. He’s as nice as he is smooth in the ring.

They announced for their anniversary show in March they’re bringing in former promotion alum and champion, Tyson Kidd. Being in Alberta, we blew the roof off that rec center when they announced it.

Also last night was the final match of “Dirty” Duke Durango, one of the final wrestlers to train in The Dungeon. He said last night that on the way to the show, him and his wife did some math and they estimated he put 250,000 miles on his vehicles traveling between Edmonton and Calgary for shows during his career.
Matt, don't be a fag. Post some huge cocks.

Limitless Wrestling was tonight. Crowd was nuts to butts but kind of slowly filtered out as it was almost four hour long show. Feel like an old man grumbling about these long indy cards.

Match of the night was Culture Crossfire favorite Anthony Greene Vs Ashley Vox. Just great high stakes drama. The opener between Ace Romero Vs Darby Allin was great. Ace sure tossed Darby good. Including tossing him into a fancy column (the venue is an fancy dan events center that is normally used for weddings and proms). Main event with LAX Vs Brody King and JT Dunn was also p. dang great.

Sign that it might be an uphill battle in terms of advertising indy shows in 2019...the two big names announced for the January show were Austin Theory and Andrew Everett. I like those guys both fine but they're far from "WOAH! HE'S HERE!? TAKE MY MONEY NOW!" level guys . Although thinking about it, it is kind of a full circle moment cause the last time I saw Andrew Everett was in the opening match at the first Beyond show I went to in 2015, which is when I really got into indy wrestling. Go figure.

I don’t think I’ve seen Red work since his last TNA run.  I know there were rumors of him working the Cruiserweight Classic until injury or something.  I’d imagine he’s slowed down a bit by now.

Yeah, I have no idea what current Red works like. I think he works a fairly limited schedule (he did do a Beyond show back in 2015) so hopefully, that'll help him seem less old.

Looked up his Wikipedia and he is just 36 years old! Didn't know he was only 20 when he started his TNA run. Damn. P. impressive.

Red is working my local company against Danny DeManto, a local guy, who is wrestling his final match. Also on the show, Jungle Boy is making his debut, and I'm a big fan of his. Brody King will be there taking on Homicide.Danny Maff is taking on Teddy Hart, in what should be a fun match. Alisha Edwards is facing Karen Q. And I can't wait to see Orange Cassidy live again.

If you've never seen Orange Cassidy, go out of your way to check him out. He's a riot.

It was announced via WWE.com today that Gargano will face EVOLVE Champion Austin Theory in a non-title match at EVOLVE 120 in Queens, New York on Saturday, January 19, 2019. The January shows will be the first time Gargano has wrestled for EVOLVE since he departed the promotion in September 2016 after signing a full-time deal with WWE.

He's also wrestling on 1/18 with no opponent announced yet.

Indies gotta indy

You could see his knees land in the middle of the table too. Completely mis-judged the landing.

I'm going to this show tomorrow. I can't wait. Teddy Hart is awesome live, and I've met him the last 2 times I went. Jungle Boy is making his debut, and he's a great young talent. And this is one of Brody King's final indy shows before he heads off to ROH exclusively.

It's not great, but Maff/Hart should be a fun sprint with some killer spots and Tremont/Shlak is going to be violent. Brody/Homicide might be solid, too, if 'Cide brings his working boots.

Those are the stand outs. Some matches won't be great, but overall it's a fun show. Orange Cassidy is a lot of fun, too. Homicide usually brings it since this is his "home" company since 2001.

Orange Cassidy is the best comedy wrestler going today but man oh man, I am cringing imagining Matt Striker trying way too hard to be funny against him.

The show overall was a lot of fun. Jungle Boy had a great debut. Brody wasn't there, so they put Homicide in the match against Tremont and Schlak. It was hard hitting, to say the least. Maff and Teddy was great. Orange vs Striker went on a bit too long. Cut about 4 minutes and it would have been a great comedy match on a card that didn't have any other comedy. Matt tried to keep up, and he did a good job playing the heel here. He got his start in this company, so he was playing to his home crowd. He's a good dude, so I've always been a fan because of that.
