« on: February 21, 2018, 07:39:43 AM »
Gilbert Burns showed up in Orlando weighing 186 pounds and his fight with Olivier Aubin-Mercier is off because cutting 30 pounds in 3 days is some suicidal shit.

Mike Perry vs Max Griffin

Undercard

Renan Barao vs Brian Kelleher
Sara McMann vs Marion Reneau

Record low ratings with no star power going up against the last night of the Olympics? Or will it be one of those sneaky strong rated cards.

Record low ratings for sure. Bomb card perhaps, but I don't see how something would get better than last weekend. For whatever reason the UFC is running out the string on their Fox deal.

I'm going to say way low ratings.  Historically low. But this looks like a perfectly fun card. Should be good

For those worth Fight Pass worth watching when the show starts to catch the debut of Manny Bermudez. 10-0 with 8 finishes, guy was beasting on the regionals and is being hyped pretty hard by a lot of people.

Quote
Featherweight   Josh Emmett   vs.   Jeremy Stephens
Women's Strawweight   Jéssica Andrade   vs.   Tecia Torres
Light Heavyweight   Ovince Saint Preux   vs.   Ilir Latifi
Welterweight   Mike Perry   vs.   Max Griffin

Preliminary Card (Fox)
Bantamweight   Renan Barão   vs.   Brian Kelleher
Women's Bantamweight   Sara McMann   vs.   Marion Reneau
Women's Strawweight   Angela Hill   vs.   Maryna Moroz
Welterweight   Ben Saunders   vs.   Alan Jouban

I'm interested in all of these, although I admit a couple might end up being stallfests. Should be a good card, too bad nobody will watch it. I really hope Max Griffin is a live opponent.

"Live" like hittable and will likely get brutally knocked out by Platinum? Yeah, he'll be live.

Is there any other fighter on the roster under 170 lbs where it’s so easy to look at them and think “yep, was using PEDs and now is being drug tested” more than Barao?

I did bet 20 on this guy Mike Perry is fighting

odds were nice

Straight cash homey. Perry just doesn't have the toolbox to be a successful fighter. Hitting hard and being tough are some of the least important things for anyone to wind up in the top ten. He can't do anything else.

Yeah. He’s just trying too hard to be controversial. Guess he needs to try and keep his name
Out there. He’s probably sill pretty unknown to most fans.

The incest joke is lame but he's spot-on about the gf being in his corner. Hearing her yell out "BREAK HIS LEG BABY!" during the fight and offering zero actual coaching was cringe worthy.

Also we can safely write Sara McMann down as the biggest bust in womans mma history, right?

YES and yes.

Hearing his girlfriend “cornering” him was so fucking useless. What a nothing.

And I first thought if anyone was going to beat Rousey it would be Sara... yeah. Nothing panned out ther.

I just don't think she "gets it" when it comes to submission defense. Which is kinda baffling given her credentials.
