Do you consider this food to be a hamburger?

Well that is a beef patty on there, so I would technically consider it a hamburger.  Probably not one I would go out of my way for.

I also like that the video specifies "leftover rice"

I wouldn't eat that because of the egg, but yes. When I was younger we used to make something similar with french onion soup and aluminum foil. Put carrots and celery on the side too. Haven't done it in so long that I might be getting the steps wrong. Cook each patty, put all that stuff around it, wrap it up one by one, put it in the oven and blam. It looked way better than that too.

For those who say yes:

Is this still a hamburger if the rice isn't cooked into patty shape? Would a Burger patty on top of a more traditional plate of rice constitute a hamburger?

Is this still a hamburger if the ground beef were "loose" as seen on a sloppy joe or a Maid Rite?

Traditional Moco Loco's are open face (meaning no top "bun" here). Can a Hamburger be open face?

I come from the land of the garbage plate, so as long as the hamburger is...formed? tight? it's a burger IMO.
A sloppy joe, while delicious, is not a burger.

Is it ground beef shaped into a patty?  Then it is a burger.  It doesn't need a bun or anything.  It can just be sitting on a plate.

Yes.  Hot hamburger (ie. hamburger smothered in beef gravy, popular in Canada) often is.
