Kinda fitting that Tavares leaves and the Islanders end up going farther than the team he goes to the very next season.  This may be the most wide-open the playoffs have been in a while.

Matthews and Marner were on the ice for about 6 seconds 5-on-5 during a line change and almost scored and didn't get any chances after that.

Nylander was saddled with Brown and Marleau all series and didn't get any chances to to move up to the top 2 lines for some reason when you've got 10 minutes left to save your season.

A totally winnable series and they shit the bed.

What a fucking crazy 3rd period and OT in San Jose.  Vegas now knows the heartbreak of the NHL playoffs.

Yep, he was a wall from Game 4, 53 minutes in Game 5 and tonight.

McAvoy call I thought was bullshit, but the Bruins were much more aggressive this series and their penalty killing units were great, many times the Jackets did not get any good looks.

I'm really surprised the Jackets didn't start taking headshots in the 3rd.

Give Rask the Conn Smythe for that first period alone.

Rask has been doing his best Tim Thomas playoff impersonation at the right time for the Bruins in this matchup against Carolina. I'm also always happy when Carolina gets knocked out by the Bruins (RIP Hartford).

I've been so conflicted this series as far as who to root for.   Living in Raleigh it's been fun to see people get excited about hockey, but I also didn't want to see the Canes possibly win a SECOND cup before the Sabres got one (not much risk in that anymore) but also, as a Buffalo sports fan, fuck Boston.

Gonna be rooting hard for whoever comes out of the West.

Really love to see the team that the Leafs should have beaten in the first round waltz into the final.

1) How the fuck do all four officials miss a pretty fucking obvious hand pass?

2) Why the fuck isn't that reviewable?

The last two periods have been a defensive clinic.

Rob Thomas saw God on that hit.  I love when teams try to out physical the Bruins.  It never seems to work out well for them.

I stand corrected.  The Blues are throwing their weight around 5 on 5 and have the advantage there.

If this goes 7 the final three games will be played over 9 days (game 7 would be on the 12th).  Who the fuck came up with THAT schedule?

Blues came out on a mission last night and it showed right from the first period so I'm not surprised they evened up the series. This could definitely go 7 games and decide on which team mentally/physically is willing to go harder.

That's exhibit #1000 of why I don't sit in poor people seats. That one and some of the Rams game shit is always in those sections. I know it's the Finals but in that case it's even more likely to be true where the person can't really afford to be there and is going to take it out on someone at some point.

When I used to go to Kings games and sit in the nosebleeds that happened a few times. There's also a massive drop up there and you never feel like you're on steady footing, so that's just fucking stupid.

When I used to go to Chargers games, I would only sit in the lower bowl because of what you said.

Anyway, the refs blew another call in the last game by not calling the trip which led to the game winning goal. The Blues could win the Cup at home, so good luck to them.

When I went to Survivor Series and saw Enzo get hauled out in front of me, I guess the good seats aren't that safe either. Still though. No poor people shit for me.

A home game 7 no-show that would make Bruce Boudreau proud.  I knew after that first Blues goal after the Bruins were stonewalled this was not going to end well.  The top line was a complete no-show for most of the series, especially Marchand and Pasternak.

Congrats to the Blues for finally winning the big one. Bruins out shot them but Binnington stonewalled them.

The Cup passing is always great if not for the constant f-bombs from every player.

I can't even be mad because the Bruins seemed madly inconsistent all playoffs aside from sweeping a clearly overmatched Carolina team.  The Blues took the lead and suffocated them defensively for two periods, but it didn't help that the Bruins were insanely sloppy with the puck and didn't seem to have a plan aside from throwing it at the net and seeing what happened.  Marchand especially was fucking awful and I'm sure nobody is sad about that.

Binington played out of his mind in Game 7. Bruins had a lot of good chances (though they didn't go top shelf as much as I thought they should've like St. Louis was doing) while the Blues capitalized on their chances. Good series and congrats to St. Louis for their victory.

The Preds have traded PK Subban to the Devils. Great weekend, on top of getting Hughes.
