Sports Gambling thread
« on: September 12, 2018, 12:31:59 PM »
Hey guys, I figured a lot of us do some NFL betting as well as other sports. I figure we could have a place to post our bets to at least what other posters are thinking. I do a lot of NFL, NBA, the occasional college game and really enjoy PGA gambling.

Week 1 I went 2-0 betting a 1 unit each on:

CIN money line @ +120 over IND
CAR -3 over DAL @ -110

Although the bet I didn't make was the one that could have made the most money and I think will be the best line of the year. 2 Weeks ago Baltimore was a -6 favorite home against Buffalo. I was cash poor at the time so I was hesitant to bet big. My gambling partner does not do that but I think his Ravens bias (he's a Bengals fan) made him stay away until it moved up to -7.5 and then he was to afraid to go big on over a TD.

Wow I didn't realize Woodley to win was at +107. What great value. Much like in PGA gambling it pays to bet on guys the public dislikes like Patrick Reed and Bryson DeChambeau.

I am retarded and can't keep track of things via units, so I use dollar amounts like a bigly stupid idiot.

First entry into this thread:

Denver Broncos -6.5 (-110) - $40

I am really interested in that game, probably more than any others on the Week 2 slate. I am pissed that I missed the -5 to start the week, but more so that it jumped 1.5 points than the result.

I think I saw a stat that Denver is 22-10-3 ATS in the first two weeks of the season in Denver the last 30 years.

Denver is a tough place to play early in the year because of the altitude.  They are used to it so their gas is better early on than other teams, even on the road.  Part of the reason why they seem to start strong every year.  Probably accounts for them covering so much in the first few games.

I also want to take the under in HOU/TEN. Can't bring myself to do it, but it's 43 flat. Mariota has a busted hand and Delanie Walker is gone. That's awfully tempting.

My gambling partner talked me out of the Oakland-Denver bet, but he was too fucking high on the hog about being right that I am pissed we missed out on NYG-DAL under 41.5.

Minnesota opened up as -16 favorite against Buffalo and that had already moved up half a point.

1 Unit on Seattle -1.5 versus Dallas.

And I wonder how many people are going to lose their houses trying to make a cheap $100 on the BUF-MIN money line....

Anyone who took the Bills probably made out quite well. The local sports radio guys were saying coming off overtime last week the Vikings might be a little flat like what happened in the NFC Championship plus looking ahead to Thursday. Can’t say anyone seriously saw this coming though.

I actually stayed above water this weekend because my gambling partner hates the Browns and we got the Raiders at -2.5.

I'm interested to see what the run line will be for the NL West loser since they have to go cross country to play the Cubs or Brewers.

Going into PGA betting with two feet this year. Should have made good money on the Euros last week, but patriotism and stuff....

Safeway Open

Joaquin Niemann 25-1 (1 unit golf gambling)
Luke List 40-1 (1/2 unit golf; List was 50-1 and one of the golf gambling darlings, so I should have got on him at 50-1 on Monday)
Jaime Lovemark 60-1 (1/3 unit golf)
Bronson Burgoon 80-1 win; 21-1 T5 each way
Sam Ryder 80-1 win; 21-1 T5 each way
Brandon Hagy 100-1 win; 26-1 T5 each way

Niemann T20 @6/5
Adam Hadwin T20 @ 13/8

Basically I am trying to get some T20's to cover half my bets and one each way that if they hit I will cover for the week.

If I lose it all, obviously I may have to adjust for the next few tournaments, but the general consensus is do a six pack of outright picks and try to hit a winner once every eight weeks.

Sam Ryder made a 5 foot putt on 18 to stay in the Top 5 so I ended up +$80 dollars for my PGA bets this week. I'll take it but a MDF (Niemann) & CUT (Hadwin) may make me reconsider what I will do on T20 bets.

Fuck it I like this team too much.

Jazz 3 way parlay at 6-1 at a half unit:

-3 1st Quarter
-5 1st Half
-8.5 Game

Since I like losing money:

1 unit Boston -1 @ OKC

1 unit ML parlay

TEXANS
CHIEFS
BENGALS
RAMS
PATRIOTS
STEELERS
BEARS

Pays at +395 if it hits.

Vegas taking a beating! Although it will be interesting to see how they try to course correct the next couple of weeks.

I think the biggest mistake Vegas made was the Chiefs around -9 to -8. I think they could have made the line -10.5 and it may have scared enough people off, I know I would have been. I got really lucky that Gregg Williams wanted to waive his dick around so I hit the Chiefs -5.5 first half bet.

They got pretty unlucky that public teams were crushing it today.
