Spider-man: Far From Home
« on: September 30, 2018, 02:07:05 PM »
Filming underway overseas.  Jake Gyllenhaal’s character as the antagonist was speculated but not confirmed.  These set photos that leaked basically confirmed, so spoiler tagging the link just in case anyone cares.

I know this doesn’t really make any sense. But surely they should really advertise any future marvel films till after the next avengers. Keeping kayfabe alive and all.

Guessing it is probably a teaser for now that won’t spoil anything but the movies comes out a little more than two months after Avengers, no way they don’t advertise.

I'm glad they're doing more with the friend group because that was a big strength of the first movie. I also like using a villian who hasn't been done in any previous movies again but is someone who isn't obscure either. Looks like it'll be fun.

They aren’t doing the early screenings tonight like most films.  Only midnight.  So I have tickets for 7 PM tomorrow night.  Hopefully can avoid spoilers.

To point out something I didn't go over in my review, and it isn't all that important, I really liked that my man LEON has entered the MCU. That was something I wanted and didn't really know I wanted.

I enjoyed it and thought it was maybe a hair better than the first Spider-Man movie but still probably a 7.5 bordering on 8 score. Fun action scenes, some really great visuals towards the end, and solid humor as expected that got a lot of laughs from my theater group.

This was my favorite Spider Man movie — to me, it beats out the Raimi Spider Man 2. The action was great, the humor was funny, they did an excellent job with the adaptation of Mysterio, and the ending was a jaw dropper. This makes it into my Top 3 of Marvel movies.

Loved this so much. Light-hearted fun mixed with some good "Is this what I want?" Spidey pathos (without going too far down that road) and another really enjoyable villain.

Yeah, really enjoyed this one no doubt. The IMAX 3D aspect was tremendous as well. If I was to be a bit critical, maybe it was too heavy on the romance tropes, but it wasn't like that was done badly since it was very well written in that aspect.

The post credits scenes were easily the most HOLY SHIT stuff Marvel has ever done in dropping those as the credits rolled. Where do they go with things from here after those scenes?

I thought also they did a great job with the Avengers Endgame fallout, especially with the storyline that could really be made in a seperate film, of characters that didn't get affected by the finger snap being affected by growing older while the others that returned didn't age. I thought maybe that could have gone a bit deeper, but I'm glad it was addressed.

How great would a Disney Plus miniseries about the effects of The Blip on everyone be?

Yo, real talk, I would watch the shit out of that miniseries. I tend to be of the opinion that there aren't nearly enough "Third Watch/Below Decks" stories from my favorite properties, and I'd love to see, like, a four-episode mini about the non-superhero-y ways in which the world was affected by The Blip.
