Greatest Live Performances of all-time? Greatest Performances?
« on: November 16, 2018, 02:47:01 PM »
After watching Bohemian Rhapsody which NOT TO SPOIL included a fair bit about the band's legandary Live Aid performance

I got to wondering about the greatest live performances of all time. On top of that who delivered the most night after night?

A lot of Nirvana fans tend to point to their Seattle return on 10/31 at the Paramount Theater as one of their best alongside the Unplugged performance.

I've always loved their 1991-09-26 performance at The Moon in Connecticut though. A great encompassing of who they were as a live band and their live sound. Intimate Setting? Check. Kurt's Voice in Prime? Check. Rare Songs Performed? Check. Dave especially but Krist and Kurt are all just into it the entire performance and it's 2 days after the release of Nevermind before they'd explode in popularity.

Set List
Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam [traditional, cover]
Here She Comes Now [Velvet Underground cover]
    D-7 [Wipers cover]
    Aneurysm
    Drain You
    School
    Floyd The Barber
    About A Girl
    Love Buzz [Shocking Blue cover]
    Smells Like Teen Spirit
    Breed
    Polly
    Spank Thru
    Sliver
    Blew
    [jam]
    Blew
    Been A Son
    Negative Creep
    Endless, Nameless

It's just one song but Ann Wilson making Robert Plant cry (and Jimmy Page happily rock out) with this insane performance of "Stairway To Heaven" always impresses the fuck out of me.

Both Wilson sisters are insanely talented and put on great shows.
