The Bulls fired Fred Hoiberg.

Thank God. People made excuses for the guy like the GM's not signing the right players for his bogus system or injuries, but he was awful at the most basic things like drawing up plays and he seems like a pushover.

Maybe GarPax will be nex..bwhahahahaha just kidding. The next coach they hire will be the sixth coach they've hired during their tenure. The Bulls only have one Eastern Conference Finals appearance and no championships to show for the 15 years John Paxson has been the GM and the job security is still safe.

Sorry man, I had to

Sources say Hoiberg still wants to coach in the league, but will be highly sought after in the college ranks, specifically he could be a front runner for the UCLA position if Steve Alford is let go

Wait did you post the Hoiberg news before me? I didn't see no post. I had to break the hot newz.

edit: Oh I see. I got it in 30 seconds before.

If Vinny Del Negro was given a second chance, I don't see why Hoiberg wouldn't. He comes off as more of an assistant though. Even in College, his Iowa team that had a top 4 seed got upset in the Sweet Sixteen.

This guy is a joke. Might be worse than Hoiberg and I didn't think it was possible. For those that didn't know, the Bulls players basically almost had a mutiny yesterday and refused to practice and had a players only meeting. Boylen pulling all the players after being down 11-0 is one of the stupidest things I've seen a coach do.  The whole thing is hilarious.

Quote

That grueling practice never took place Sunday because the Bulls players discussed a boycott of practice, multiple sources told The Athletic. Veteran players spent Saturday night trying to talk Boylen out of a Sunday session, sources said, and when their pleas were rejected, they began bouncing around other ideas in a team-wide group text.

The texts started Saturday night and carried into Sunday morning. One idea that had significant support, according to sources, was the players simply not showing up to the Advocate Center on Sunday. A preliminary plan was to gather at one player’s house and wait for the phones to begin buzzing.

Robin Lopez and Lauri Markkanen were the two players that basically got everyone calm and prevented a mutiny. Boylan had a hilarious response trying to bullshit his way through it and say he planned to watch film, but multiple reporters have confirmed that he wanted to do a grueling practice despite the team playing 3 games in 4 days. This team sounds in a good place.

Glad to see Swaggy got off that Molly long enough to get a new deal

I think this snippet from a Deadspin article summarizes this magical Suns season nicely:

Quote
According to USA Today, the Suns needed a “10-minute cooling off period” in the locker room after the game, but when reporters entered they caught the tail end of a heated confrontation between Booker and Ayton. The rookie big man didn’t start this game because he, no joke, was feeling sick from not having eaten enough. He did, however, enter the game just three minutes after the tip-off and ended up playing 27 minutes, because Kokoskov does not appear to have a very good handle on his team.

Sounds like it is inevitable that Trevor Ariza is going back to the Lakers.  The first day he is eligible to be traded is Saturday, due to when he signed with Phoenix this summer.  Lakers really want to give up KCP, who the Suns have no interest in but it sounds like there is progress in getting a third team involved.

Although the talk has been happening for a few days now, Suns actually started Josh Jackson over Ariza tonight.  They are losing to the Spurs by 20 in the 4th.

I heard today that GarPax want to institute a "Leadership Committee" on the Bulls. It's supposed to essentially be a group to relay the wishes of the coach and the players between each other.

This organization is a disaster. GarPax have to finally get shit canned after this year. This is great!

Seattle deserves better than Robert Sarver. Also, the Suns were a prestige organization and should not be allowed to move.

I'm positive that I'm the only one here who cares more about the WNBA implications of this but, um, yeah... what happens to the Mercury if that relocation is approved? Both of those cities already have WNBA teams.

The Seattle Storm didn't move with the Sonics.  Does Sarver own both teams?

The Seattle Storm didn't move with the Sonics.

Counterpoint: The Charlotte Sting didn't move with the Hornets, either. George Shinn told the city of Charlotte that they could keep the Sting, and the city of Charlotte said, "No thanks." They gave them two years to find a new buyer and, when that failed, the team folded.

With Seattle, there was a group of local businesswomen who loved the Storm enough to make a deal happen. There's no telling whether or not that would happen in Phoenix, or else I wouldn't be apprehensive.

ESPN reporting Jabari Parker is being dropped from the Bulls' regular rotation.  He is expected to play in Mexico City due to other injuries on the team but after that, he is out of the rotation.

So the Suns moved Trevor Ariza... to the Wizards.  So they moved him to a contending team indeed...

Wizards get Ariza

Grizzlies get Kelly Oubre

Suns get MarShon Brooks, Wayne Selden and AUSTIN RIVERS

This fucking team

Reports this morning from credible sources that it actually was the Grizzles screwing around on that trade and that Washington and Phoenix were both under the impression that it was Dillon Brooks going to Phoenix.

Just embarrassing for all teams involved that it was as public as it was and announced as done only to get rescinded.

Word is Phoenix and Washington are still talking to try to finish something.  Honestly, think if the Suns got Rivers and Oubre, they'd be better off than Rivers and the Selden with either Brooks.  And even more honestly, no deal they make is going to really put them in any real direction any time soon anyway.

Sure everyone is tired of me bumping this for updates on the Suns trading Trevor Ariza to Wizards

Woj reports that the screwup came because the Suns and Grizzlies never talked directly and used Washington for all communication, which is where the screwup occurred.  Still stupid on the part of all involved.

Looks like the Suns did what I suggested and took Oubre and Rivers for Ariza, which I think in the long run is a better deal than what they would've gotten in the cancelled deal but still insignificant.

Lonzo Ball and Lebron James both with triple doubles tonight.

Interesting fact that actually surprised me - I read that this is the first time Laker teammates had a triple double in the same game since Magic and Kareem in 1982.

Speaking of Lonzo and my obsession with the shitty Suns and their Trevor Ariza dealings - apparently the reason Ariza's return to the Lakers didn't happen is the Suns refused to talk to the Lakers about any deal that didn't include Lonzo Ball.  Like really?  I am not the biggest Ball fan, I don't see him being a consistent star until his shot gets better but why the hell would the Lakers give him up for wrong side of his prime Ariza?  Really aiming for that worst organization in sports title.
