NFL Week 17: Wild Card Spots Pandemonium
« on: December 26, 2018, 07:07:23 AM »

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2812430-nfl-playoff-picture-2019-updated-afc-nfc-wild-card-bracket-ahead-of-week-17

Playoff picture could get crazy.

AFC
- Chargers have a shot to take the AFC West and the #1 Seed
- Patriots and Texans are trying to get a playoff bye in the AFC
- Titans/Jaguars could decide the AFC South if the Texans lose & winner still gets a playoff spot if Texans win
- Steelers still have a chance at the AFC North

NFC
- Bears have a chance at the #2 Seed
- Eagles are trying to get a playoff spot if they win and Vikings lose. Flipside Vikings lock up a spot with a win or Eagles loss.

- Bills DT Kyle Williams announced he will retire after Sunday's Week 17 finale against the Dolphins.
- Saints TE Ben Watson plans to retire following the team's playoff run. Really talented pass catcher, somewhat of an underachiever at times but came into his own as a reliable downfield target for Cleveland and New Orleans after his Patriots run.

Rodgers ends his season with a concussion.  I think I'd like to have one so I can forget this season ever happened.

Trust the Jets to make this defense look like world beaters.

Guess the Raiders couldn't give less of a shit about playing spoiler today and affecting the playoff seeding.  The Chargers might as well pack it in for the day because they are destined for the 5 seed.

I don't know why he played today.

NFC is set for next week

Seahawks at Cowboys

Eagles at Bears

And the Vikings continue their legacy as one of the most snake bitten franchises in sports

I hate to jinx it, but wouldn't the Packers season be the worst if that concussion ends Rodgers' career?

I didn't want to say it, but it is possible at this point.

The Pats defense is elite at home...

I suppose it is, but I'm not worried.  It is his first concussion since 2011.

This punk, man...

https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2018/12/31/antonio-brown-dispute-steelers-news-nfl/stories/201812310108

"The disagreement occurred Wednesday morning during a routine walk-through practice that precedes their regular afternoon practice on the South Side. Brown became disgusted and threw a football in anger at one of his teammates, several sources said.

After that, Brown did not practice the rest of the week. According to a source, it was Brown’s decision not to practice with his teammates.

He did not attend Saturday’s walk-through practice and skipped the Saturday night meeting at the team hotel — the latest in missed meetings by the All-Pro receiver. Brown was never on the field for the start of the game against the Bengals and left Heinz Field at halftime, according to multiple sources.

According to several sources, Brown showed up at Heinz Field expecting to play against the Bengals. That surprised several players..."

The season finale of Days of Our Steelers should be a good one.

Steelers need to rip apart their team and rebuild.  They aren't winning a championship with this group.  The lockerroom is divided, the QB is old and hurt, and they need some new blood at coach.

I'm biased as a Giants fan but down the stretch Ben was arguably playing worse than Eli and yet Eli gets shit on a ton more.  Ben was awful the last 2 months here

I wanted to post during this weekend's games but got distracted with other things.  During that pre-pre-game on FOX, Colin Cowherd, who I can't stand anyway, predicted next season will be a 49ers-Colts Super Bowl.  Who else is buying in?
