How about some midseason awards?  Here's mine.

MVP - Giannis Antetokounmpo
ROY - Luka Doncic
DPOTY - Anthony Davis
6MOTY - Domantas Sabonis (yeah I know homer pick)
MIP - Montrezl Harrell
COTY - Michael Malone
All-NBA 1st team: Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, James Harden, Stephen Curry
2nd team: Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard
3rd team: Nikola Jokic, Kawhi Leonard, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Kemba Walker

I feel like it should be someone better than Blake in that last forward spot, but really it's a pretty sharp dropoff from those other 5 forwards.  LaMarcus Aldridge is out there, but I don't think he's been quite as good as Blake this season.  I don't think it's a huge stretch to put Doncic there, but I was honestly trying not to succumb too much to the hype.

I was kind of lazy on the DPOTY/6th man/MIP ones because I was doing this right before I had to leave for work so those were kind of rushed tbh.  So feel free to offer any suggestions/counterpoints

I honestly haven't watched enough games this year to feel like I can fairly give awards but from what I've read and kept up on, I think the bulk of your assessment is fair, alf.

What I am curious about on Doncic is if he keeps it up.  I just think back to what a good rookie year Tyreke Evans had, with all these historic stats and things only Oscar Robertson did and he looked like a stud.  Then I know he got his position shifted and lost his groove.  With injuries and things, he's had a solid career but he was Rookie of the Year in the Rookie season of some of the league's current top talent - Steph Curry, James Harden, DeMar Derozan, among others who have been All-Stars and arguably better careers such as Jrue Holiday.

I mean, all that is irrelevant for Doncic's current season and award status but there are a lot of people hyping him as the newest elite player - which guys like Curry and Harden were not seen as early in their career.

MVP - James Harden is putting up historic numbers. Nikola Jokic is getting better and better and putting up historic numbers as well. I'd go with those two.
Rookie - Luka Doncic
Defensive - probably Anthony Davis, I don't know.
Sixth Man - gonna be biased and go with Derrick Rose, but he's been in and out with injuries the last couple weeks
Improved - I'll go with Pascal Siakam. Spencer Dinwiddie is up there as well.
Coach - Mike Malone since who saw Denver being this good happening.

Too hard to do the All NBA teams right now.

Another tough blow to the Rockets as Clint Capela is out 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury, per Woj

Mavs are trying to trade Dennis Smith Jr.  Suns, Magic and Pistons have been reported as interested, although the Suns denied it

I have Aldridge down as more of a center this year but the All-NBA squads are usually pretty fluid when it comes to positions.

First Team:
Giannis, Kawhi, AD, Harden, Curry

Second Team:
Durant, LeBron, Jokic, Kyrie, Lillard

Third Team:
Paul George, Griffin, Capela, Simmons, Butler (good year despite the drama; I didn't really want to put Westbrook here, either)

I had heard that from sources other than Draymond recently too.  Will be interesting.  The clips of him working out look good.

Zubac should be the starting center from now on. He has too much game to leave on the bench.

Cousins is going to give Golden State the ability to open up their playbook in a way they haven't been able to do since they traded Bogut.

Really fun finish to OKC-Philly.

OKC winning and a bad turnover leads to Jimmy Butler stealing and going ahead with 6.9 seconds left.  Paul George under pressure hits a three and gets fouled for a 4-point play.  Another highlight reel moment for the incredible season George is having.

Let's not go crazy there...  This may be some of the best George has looked but even his best in Indy, he didn't seem to do well in meaningful games. Think Westbrook is still off from his injury but if Westbrook bounces back and George stays like this, they get real interesting.

So... the Nets might be legit.

might be?  I thought they'd be in the hunt for one of the last 3 seeds in the East this year pre-season......so I guess my prediction for them was about right on point

And they're doing it without LeVert.....which is more impressive.   I really like their young, talented, hungry roster and their coach

And then the Knicks :(

Have the Knicks-Thunder on.

It is the Knicks broadcast so the Knicks PBP guy apologized to Walt Frazier to not blaspheme by comparing Paul George to Clyde...

I know the Cavs aren't healthy, but my god this group they trotted out against the Bulls might be one of the worst teams ever. Their starting lineup was Alec Burks, Cedi Osman, Collin Sexton, Rodney Hood, and Ante Zizic with a bench of Cam Payne, Jordan Clarkson, Matthew Dellydova, Channing Frye, and some dude named Jarrod Blossomgame. My god.

If they don't wave him, I will laugh so hard.

Finally got their man five years later.

Alas. Looks like this is a trade to get more money for Jerry to pursue Machado or Harper since he cares about his other team.

Woj says Melo is already gone. Right up there with Bulls legends like Andrew Bynum, Dikembe Mutombo, JR Smith, Jameer Nelson, and Tony Allen.

Shading/fronting Harden to his right side, and daring him to drive left must be way harder than it looks, because I don't know why more teams don't try to do that?

If Luke Walton is still the coach when LeBron comes back, they will miss the playoffs. That dude is a fucking moron.

All I really want when the Lakers trade for him is that somehow they can keep Lonzo Ball. Hopefully the Pelicans pay attention to league narratives and think that dude sucks.

If not then Magic should still make the trade.

The best thing the Lakers could do would be to sign Kyrie and trade their assets for Davis, doing both in the offseason. The Pels would probably be happy with that considering the ransom they could extract, and the Lakers would be able to get away with trading Lonzo. I would bust in my jeans if that happened. The Pels also wouldn't have to do a rebuild if they made a trade like that.

Would Kyrie want to come back and play with LeBron that quickly?  I know he "apologized" to him and everything, but still.  It's not like Boston is full of a bunch of bums.
