Might as well shut it down. We have our Match of the Year.

If I get to see Ricochet Vs Orange Cassidy, I will shit. So so so hyped for the idea of most athletic wrestler fighting least athletic wrestler.

Other two matches obviously would be doped but that styles clash would make my mind explode.

I feel bad because I clicked for Strickland to get the match before I realized Orange Cassidy was one of the options. Wish I could take that one back.

I remembered a second Twitter account I had to set up for a project and voted from there too.  He's up to 60% now.  Maybe this helps too:

i went to the ICW show last night, the one with Steiner vs Nick Gage. It was also the companies debut on Independent TV. The show was a lot of fun. The main event was a fun mess that ended in a Steiner count-out because I'm sure he wouldn't do the job. After the match Gage got on the mic and called out Sami Callihan for the thrown of Draw of the Indies for the next ICW show in May (which will also feature an appearance by Scarlett Bordeaux).

I got to meet much of the talent, many I've met before, but some were new.

Steiner had a meet and greet before the show. $40 for an autograph and picture, which was a great deal

At every show, I get a picture with Teddy Hart. Always a great dude and class act. First time I've gotten one with Mr. Velvet, too.

Joey Janela was calling the action for their live broadcast. He's a great dude. Never charges for pictures. Walks around meeting fans.

Couldn't get the Bad Boy without getting one with the Bad Girl, Penelope Ford. She was awesome. My friend and I spoke with her for a bit.

After the main event, got one with Gage. My main motivation was his last match against Darin Corbin (TSM favorite). Darin and I have become buddies, and I had to get a picture with Gage repping the Ginger Ninja. He's always been great with the fans, too.

Eli Everfly made his ICW debut. Great high flyer from the West Coast.

Future Evolve Champion Orange Cassidy. Great dude. Second time meeting him.

DV's new buddy Orange Cassidy will be facing Ricochet at EVOLVE 123 in Melrose, Massachusetts and your man King Kamala will be at ringside (err....in general admission) for this electrifying bout.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Somebody uploaded Steiner's entrance from the ICW show in NY last week. DV, is that you in the baby blue shirt at 11 seconds in?

As I expected following the call up, Ricochet has been pulled from the EVOLVE show.  Orange Cassidy will now face Velveteen Dream.

TRIPLE POST OF DOOM!

Tye Dillinger announce his first indy appearance (afaik). He'll be wrestling for Beyond Wrestling at Electric Haze on June 5th.

No better place to make your first post WWE appearance than a hookah bar in Worcester on a Wednesday Night!

Tickets for the weekly show are only $10 for GA and $20 for VIP. Hot damn. I felt bad paying just $10 to see Masato Tanaka Vs David Starr so I bought an extra. So we might get Kamala and Laz making small talk Vol. 2 if Laz is up for a Worcester Wednesday.

They also announced SCU Vs Team Pazuzu (Chris Dickinson and LAX/EYFO) tonight.

Hell of a show for $10.

Went to EVOLVE last night, outside of Boston. P. good but fairly uneventful show. Sullied by the fact that it was Lady Kamala's 4th (and presumably last) attempt at trying to enjoy wrestling. She was annoyed by a horrible smell of someone in our row and spent most of the show wandering aimlessly around venue playing around on her phone. On ride home, we got into argument over whether the horrible smell was BO or farts. Longterm relationships don't always smell like roses, folks.

ANYWAY, enough about my love life and smelly wrestling fans.

MOTN was probably the Skulk Vs JD Drake & Anthony Henry. That AR Fox sure can fly. Josh Briggs Vs Darby Allin was a fun big man-little man match. I liked Velveteen Dream Vs Orange Cassidy even if it wasn't quite as wacky as I hoped it'd be. It was interesting to see Velveteen Dream play subtle heel. He was kind of in the old school Touring World Champ role (even though the NXT North America wasn't on the line).

Also the show was friggin packed. Probably like 600-700 people.  Very very few if any empty seats (besides my girlfriend's when she wandered away from the stank). I went to an EVOLVE show two years ago and it was maybe 40% full with a IMO more loaded card but I guess the WWE rub DOES mean a lot. Case in point, Richochet, was doing a meet and greet, and line snaked around the building. A few years back, I could just walk up to him and tell him to stop bothering the Rock on Twitter.

Insane level of turnover too. Only three people were on the EVOLVE show in 2017 and 2019 (Austin Theory, Timothy Thatcher, and Priscilla Kelly, who didn't do anything gross...or really much of anything at all tonight).

Anyway, despite the mostly good if not great workrate, it is kind of easy to see why EVOLVE doesn't really have any hardcore fanbase. It really combines a lot of the least interesting aspects of ROH and the least interesting aspects of NXT. Those NXT guest appearances are really a lifesaver. I guess good for Gabe that he gets to run WWE's Double A.

Also one of more interesting things I forgot to mention about EVOLVE last night is they announced that Beyond Wrestling is doing a free outdoor show at Fanueil Hall in Boston on June 9th.

Seems odd as hell to see an indy show in that setting. But cool that they'll get that level of visibility, I guess.

Hope someone gets thrown against the Red Auerbach Statue during a wild brawl.

Went to my first Evolve show last night in Queens NY. It was a fun show overall. The main event was SP/Dream vs Shane Strickland/Joe Gacy/Eddie Kingston. The match was fun, but can't stand SP. It was great seeing Dream live. He didn't do a M&G, but Ricochet did. He was pulled from the show when he made his main roster debut, but they brought him in for M&G. I met him before the show. He was great.

The highlight of the night was seeing DV/Kamala hero Anthony Greene show up, as a surprise (he didn't mention anything about the show on any of his social media accounts). He was in a 4 way with Mike Orlando and 2 Evolve dudes (I don't follow Evolve closely). During the match he went to the top rope, took a couple of steps to the middle of the rope, grabbed a balloon that was just floating there, did a cross body on one of the dudes, rolled to the outside of the ring, and handed the balloon off to a fan. Got, easily, the biggest pop of the night.

One of the really low points was during Josh Briggs vs AF Fox. Briggs went for his finish, a chokeslam/backbreaker on his knees, to Fox from the top rope. He got the pin but was in extreme pain. He couldn't get up and had to be stretchered out after the match. Briggs ended up with a dislocated hip and will be out 2-3 months.

I go to meet Darby Allin, Priscilla Kelly, and AR Fox after the show.

Also disappointingly the Beyond Show in Fanueil Hall is indoors at Ned Devine's. But that means you might get a death match, Laz.

Create A Pro dug up a clip of a 5 year old MJF on The Rosie O'Donnell Show. He said he wanted to grow up to be a pro wrestler and opera singer (explains the scarf). Rosie gives him Shrek ears and a gift certificate to WWF New York.

Hoping he busts out his rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" on a Mania Week Show.

More Than Mania 2019 thread cross post but maybe not really since this show was 3 and 1/2 hours away.

I went to the first episode of Beyond Wrestling "Unchartered Territory" last night in beautiful Downtown Worcester, MA.  It is a fantastic concept (2 hour weekly TV style show but indies) but maybe a year or two later. Last night was awesome cause they could pull out all the stops being relatively close to WrestleMania but wondering where they will be 8 or 9 weeks down the line.

Big standout, showcase match of the night was Beaver Boys Vs Aussie Open. Aussie Open will be with WWE very shortly. Just big talented, charismatic, and confident dudes from a relatively untapped market WWE is trying to play into.

Beyond seems very intuitive of what indy talent to emphasize, IE what talent is least likely to get snapped up ASAP by WWE. Show was built around Chris Dickinson (too bald and hairy and also swears too much)  and David Starr's (too stubborn and woke for WWE) feud.

It'll be hard to top the mixed tag between Jordynne Grace and Brian Cage Vs Orange Cassidy and Session Moth Martina has to be early favorite for Match of the Weekend.
