Well, they didn't "get rid" of Callis, did they? He left for Impact. Also Callis was there before Jericho.
You should probably put your bandit hat on now.

Yes I know. https://www.mandatory.com/wrestlezone/news/1009661-chris-jericho-unhappy-about-njpw-not-using-don-callis-on-commentary and then about 2 weeks after they announced he was going to do WK. Did they do it just to appease Jericho? Probably not but the timing is funny and it makes a better story!

Watching last night's AXS that is airing the rest of WrestleKingdom

Ibushi-Ospreay on right now - my that spot of Ospreay on the apron throwing the kick at the moonsault Ibushi was simple yet dangerous and spectacular looking

"weird 8th grade face" to describe Jay White is exactly how I've felt but could not find the words to articulate it..

I watched the 2nd part of AXS' WrestleKingdom special and yeah, they did rush through a lot of the undercard. It felt like an early '90s WrestleMania in the sense that they were just shoohorning a lot of guys in just for the sake of getting them on the card.

Zack Sabre Jr Vs Ishii was a little gem and had classic potential if they had given it 10 more minutes.

I found it very very interesting how much the commentary team brought up and put over Nakamura. Is his WWE contract coming up soon?

It is and there had been rumors of NJPW luring him back.  I feel when he left, he acted like he’d retire there.  There’s been no indication he’s been unhappy with WWE but guessing NJPW would more likely give him top guy money than WWE, who turned him into a midcarder.

I wonder if a guy like Nakamura could somehow make a tandem deal with New Japan and AEW like Jericho and presumably Omega is angling for? That would be the best ideal solution.

My guess is his contract runs out the same time as Styles? And Gallows/Anderson as well?

I'm not sure if it's injuries or just working WWE style but Nakamura seems like he has aged 10 years in the three years he has been in WWE.

I think it's inevitable that he retires with NJPW but just odd to see the announcers openly fawning over him while he is working for another company.

It doesn't have anything to do with working "wwe style". Nakamura works basically like he always did just slower and less stiff usually. He knows he can just get by on charisma and working slower like Orton does while resting and surfing. If he ever goes back to NJPW which he probably will some day it will be on a limited schedule because he isn't going to move back to Japan. The surfing sucks.

I looked at the commentary as them putting over how Ibushi vs Nakamura was a wrestler battling his idol, and Ospreay is now in the Ibushi role and Ibushi is Nakamura.

Meltzer has said many times that Nakamura is very happy in WWE since his body doesn't get beat up as much, and the surfing thing.
