I like it. Ready to watch Boban feast on the East.

Hasn't he played in the east before, already?

He was in Detroit, but this is BOBAN 2.0.

I read earlier that the Pistons offered Drummond to the Grizz for Gasol and the Grizz said no.  That’s kind of odd, unless it’s strictly a matter of not wanting to take his salary on.

Grizz are also reportedly asking for “multiple” first-rounders for Conley, which seems steep for a 12-year vet that’s never been an All-star.  He also prefers to go to a team in the East

Definitely baffled by that trade, although like you said 909, if he's just a pawn in the AD game it would be interesting. Not terrible for Washington to get off of that contract, especially their current state.

Suns trade Ryan Anderson to Miami for Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington

Was this just to do a solid for Anderson since he is a vet to go somewhere to get more playing time? It looks the money is about the same because there is no way Tyler Johnson opts out of 19 million next year.

Seriously Wizards, what the hell.

If the Kings think they have a better shot at spending more money in the summer of 2020, then it isn't awful; that said this feels like the Kings trying to hold onto/get into that 8 spot. Or they certainly over-value Harrison Barnes's value which is most likely the case.

And the Kings, while they are heading in a better direction, they have spent the last 3 off-seasons spending almost all of their cap room and doing it on alternate year deals that didn't put them in a place for a ton of cap space, which they would have had this year.

Whelp. Looks like Davis is going to have to get to the Lakers after next season. Also the Pelicans have balls for doing this.

Now trade Davis to the Clippers for the cherry on top.

Think I've mentioned before how awful the Suns commentary/announce/studio team but they were extra awful with how delusional they are tonight

Jamal Crawford is getting close to some kind of record.  I think something along the lines of most career points to never be an All-Star, which has been a stat owned by Eddie Johnson, a longtime member of the Suns announce team.  This led to them talking about how Eddie is one of the greatest shooters ever and got screwed, blah blah blah.

THey keep Tom Chambers in the studio and when he isn't getting DUIs, is super full of himself and overestimates how good he was.  Yes, he had some good years, was a fringe All-Star but they started going off on how he is getting screwed out of being in the Hall of Fame.  They gave a list of guys that he had more career points than that are Hall of Famers, like highlighting he has more career points than John Stockton.  They proceeded to directly say that he should be in the Hall of Fame above Chris Mullin and Alonzo Mourning.

Instead of ring chasing, he signed with the Suns early this year.  I assumed they were going to let him be a starter but when that didn’t happen, I never figured out a legit reason why.

Yup. Doctor Internet tells me that Crawford will tie Johnson on his next made field goal, or pass him on a three.

I mean, Tom Chambers is deluded, but I can sympathize: until he retired, twenty thousand points was a "magic number" in the NBA. As of right now, there are only two players in NBA history who are "officially" retired with 20K+ points, who are eligible for the Hall of Fame, and are not in: Tom Chambers, and Antawn Jamison. All thirty of the other players to crack 20K who are HOF-eligible are in the Hall (Kobe, Duncan, Pierce and KG are not yet eligible).

Chambers and Jamison are going to be joined by Joe Johnson, once he officially announces his retirement.

I like getting Porter for Chicago. I don't know how he affects the cap for the off season. But it really doesn't matter because GarPax can't lure any free agents anyway. Trapping guys through trades is their best bet from now on.

I wonder what happens if the Bulls end up with the number one pick. Would they draft Ja Morant over Zion because even though they need a stud point guard desperately, I'm not taking anyone over Zion in the draft.

I really don't know what to think about the trade. Porter's still young and is a much better player than Portis and Parker. The contract is crippling but only for two seasons after this and the Bulls aren't gonna be good by then. They won't be a destination for a top 15 free agent until they ditch the front office. I'm gonna stay optimistic and he might actually thrive here.

Raptors are sending Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Miles and a 2024 Second Round Pick to Memphis for Marc Gasol

Memphis also traded Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green to the Clippers for Avery Bradley

Houston's trading Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin to The Pacers for a second round pick. The Pacers will waive both players

I was gone but I was gonna say that signing Melo would be better than what they had. They also would have had to renounce Zubac this summer in order to go big in free agency, so they traded someone who was already leaving, who was undeservedly taking playing time away from two better centers. I ain't mad.

Ben McLemore is heading to Toronto

Clippers waived Beasley

It was interesting seeing some of the traded guys already have big nights last night.  Dennis Smith Jr. had 30-some in the Knicks 15th straight loss, Bobby Portis had 30 in his Wizards debut and Otto Porter Jr. had a solid outing in a Bulls win.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25967528/lakers-magic-johnson-says-pelicans-act-good-faith

Though the link says act good faith, Magic is upset with the Pelicans because he doesn't think they did act in good faith.

Gee, I wonder why they would do that.
